IMPORTANT: Read these instructions before use. Please retain for future reference.

This product is only suitable for well insulated spaces or occasional use.

DISPOSAL

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CORRECT DISPOSAL OF THE PRODUCT IN ACCORDANCE WITH EC DIRECTIVE 2002/96/EC.

At the end of its working life, the product must not be disposed of as urban waste. It must be taken to a special local authority differentiated waste collection centre or to a dealer providing this service. Disposing of a household appliance separately avoids possible negative consequences for the environment and health, avoiding inappropriate disposal enables the constituent materials to be recovered to obtain significant savings in energy and resources. As a reminder of the need to dispose of household appliances separately, the product is marked with a crossed-out wheeled dustbin.

PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE PRODUCT.

WARNING!

In order to avoid overheating, please DO NOT COVER heater during use.

  • Remove the packing and make sure that the appliance is intact. In case of doubt do not use the appliance and contact our after-sales service. Do not leave packaging materials such as plastic bags and staples within reach of children.
  • Before switching on the appliance check if the electrical voltage and frequency of the circuit correspond to those indicated.
  • Use the appliance only for the mentioned purpose, namely as a heater for occasional domestic use.
  • DO NOT use for any other application as this could be dangerous.
  • The manufacturer is not responsible for any eventual damages caused by improper or faulty use or unauthorised alterations to this appliance.

The use of every electrical appliance calls for the awareness of some basic rules, such as:

  • NEVER touch the appliance with wet or damp hands or feet.
  • NEVER expose the appliance to atmospheric conditions such as rain, sun etc.
  • The appliance must always be on a flat and stable surface.
  • Always stand the heater in the upright position.
  • Switch the appliance off and unplug it before cleaning.
  • When the appliance is not in use, switch it off and unplug it.  Make harmless the parts of the appliance, which could be handled hazardously by children.
  • The heater grill is intended to prevent direct access to heating elements and must be in place when the heater is in use. The heater grill does not give full protection for young children and for infirm persons.
  • WARNING: This heater is not equipped with a device to control the room temperature. Do not use this heater in small rooms when they are occupied by persons not capable of leaving the room on their own, unless constant supervision is provided.
  • DO NOT use this heater in or near wet areas, such as in the bathroom, near bath tubs, showers, wash basins or swimming pools.
  • DO NOT put the cable on the appliance when it is on or still warm.
  • A correct operation of the appliance is obtained when the heater is installed vertically. DO NOT switch the heater on near pieces of furniture, curtains, and shelves etc.
  • DO NOT use the appliance near liquids or flammable materials/substances (i.e. curtains, table cloths or drying clothes).
  • DO NOT locate the heater below a socket outlet.
  • DO NOT cover the heater, this will cause overheating.
  • DO NOT use this heater with a programmer or timer or any other device that switches the heater on automatically, since a fire risk exists if the heater is covered or displaced.
  • DO NOT connect the appliance to extension cords or multiple outlets.
  • DO NOT damage or kink the power cord.
  • Before cleaning the appliance or carrying out any maintenance switch off and unplug the heater.
  • The heater must not be used if one of the bulbs is broken cracked or damaged.

FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY:

  • Only connect the heater to a single-phase socket with a main voltage as specified on the rating plate.
  • WARNING! This heater is not equipped with a device to control the room temperature.
  • DO NOT use this heater in a small rooms occupied by persons not capable of leaving the room on their own, unless constant supervision is provided. DO NOT leave the appliance unattended while in use, ensure that the switch is in OFF (0) position and always unplug the appliance when not in use.
  • Keep combustible materials such as furniture, cushions, bedding, paper, clothes, curtains etc. At least 100cm away from the fan heater.
  • Only use the heater once it has been fully assembled.
  • WARNING! In order to avoid overheating, do not cover the heater.
  • DO NOT use this heater in the immediate surroundings of a bath, a shower or a swimming pool.
  • DO NOT use this fan heater in rooms with explosive gas or while using inflammable solvents, varnish or glue.
  • If the cord of this appliance is damaged do not use, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
  • Keep the heater clean. Do not allow any objects or enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause electric shock, or fire or damage to the heater.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • In order to avoid a hazard due to inadvertent resetting of the thermal cutout, this appliance must not be supplied through an external switching device, such as a timer, or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by the utility.
  • Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised.
  • Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall only switch on/off the appliance provided that it has been placed or installed in its intended operating position and they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall not plug in, regulate and clean the appliance or perform user maintenance.
  • Always use the heater in an upright position.
  • WARNING! The heater must not be used if the glass bulbs are damaged.
  • In order to avoid any hazard, only clean the appliance with a dry clean cloth.
  • DO NOT use this heater with a programmer, timer, separate remote – control system or any other device that switches the heater on automatically, since a fire risk exists if the heater is covered or positioned incorrectly.
  • DO NOT use the heater if the power cord is damaged, If the replacement of the supply cord is necessary, the cord must be replaced with a specially prepared cord and this has to be done by a qualified competent person in order to avoid a safety hazard.
  • CAUTION! Some parts of this product can become very hot and cause burns. Particular attention has to be given where children and vulnerable people are present.
  • If the unit becomes damaged or stops working, switch it off and do not try to repair it. Contact the manufacturer and ask for advice. Repairs must be only be carried out by a qualified competent person.

MAINTENANCE

  1. Always switch the heater off and allow to cool completely before undertaking the cleaning of the unit.
  2. Only clean the external case of the heater with a slightly moistened cloth.
  3. Do not use any cleaning solvents.
  4. Regularly dust the heater grill (8).
    • NEVER IMMERSE THE HEATER TO CLEAN IT!

SAFETY DEVICE

This appliance is fitted with an integral safety device. Under the base there is a ‘tip over’ safety switch (C). In the event of the unit tipping over. This switch will automatically turn off the power supply to the heater. Make sure that this switch is not obstructed in any way during use.

USING YOUR HEATER

  1. Choose an appropriate position for your heater (observing the safety guidelines!).
  2. Connect to a suitable power source, and switch on the power to the socket.
  3. This appliance has 2 heating elements. They are controlled individually by the 2 buttons on the front of the unit (A). Turn the heater on by pressing either of the buttons. If you require more heat, press both of the buttons (activating both heating elements). Note: Each button has a small power light that comes on to show that it is switched on.
  4. To turn the heater off, press the buttons again (the indictor lights will go off). It is also recommended to switch off the power to the mains socket and pull out the plug when the heater is not being used.

Replacement bulbs available from your retailer, please ask for: 400W Halogen Bulbs (SWHB2 879915)

BULB GUARANTEE INFORMATION

  • You must follow the guidance in the guarantee about the use of bulbs.
  • These conditions (particularly Condition 5 of the guarantee) set out various circumstances (including wear and tear and failure to follow the instruction booklet) in which no cover is provided by this Guarantee.
  • Bulb failure is the almost inevitable consequence of one or more of such circumstances, and accordingly Supa will not accept returned goods with failed bulbs.
