DISPOSAL

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CORRECT DISPOSAL OF  THE PRODUCT IN ACCORDANCEWITH EC DIRECTIVE 2002/96/EC.
At the end of its working life, the product must not be disposed of as urban waste. It must be taken to a special local authority differentiated waste collection centre or t a dealer providing this service. Disposing of a household appliance separately avoids possible negative consequences for the environment and health, avoiding  inappropriate disposal enables thconstituent materials to be recovered to obtain significant savings in energy and resources. As a reminder of the need to dispose of household appliances separately, the product is marked with acrossed-out wheeled dustbin.

PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE PRODUCT.
Use the appliance only for the mentioned purpose, namely as a heater for domestic use. DO NOT use for any other application as this could be dangerous. The manufacturer is not responsible for any eventual damages caused by improper or faulty use.
The product is for household use only.
The use of every electrical appliance calls for the awareness of some basic rules, such as:

  • NEVER touch the appliance with wet or damp hands or feet.
  • NEVER expose the appliance to atmospheric conditions such as rain, sun etc.
  • DO NOT expose the appliance to moisture of any kind.
  • DO NOT immerse in water.
  • This appliance must only be used and stored indoors.
  • This appliance is NOT for outdoor use.
  • The appliance must always be on a flat and stable surface.
  • DO NOT use this heater in or near wet areas such as: rooms  with a bath, shower or swimming pool, or in the vicinity ofwash basins or water connections.
  • DO NOT store or use the appliance near liquids or flammable materials/substances/sprays.
  • DO NOT use the appliance in flammable atmospheres (e.g. in  the vicinity of combustible gases or spray cans) due to a highrisk of explosion and/or fire.
  • NEVER cover the heater, as this will cause overheating.
  • Keep combustible materials such as furniture, cushions, bedding, paper, clothes, curtains etc. At least 100cm away from the heater.
  • DO NOT damage or kink the power cord.
  • When not in use, the heating appliances must be switched off. NEVER leave the heating appliances unattended whilst switched on.

IMPORTANT! This appliance should only be used as instructed in this guide. Please be aware that any damage resulting from  improper use and/or failure to follow the instructions and safetyinformation provided in this booklet will invalidate the warranty.

Before Use:

  • Remove the packing and make sure that the appliance is intact. In case of doubt do not use the appliance and contact our after-sales service.
  • If the cord of this appliance is damaged DO NOT use, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard and risk of injury.
  • Do not leave packaging materials such as plastic bags and staples within reach of children.

  • Only use the heater once it has been fully assembled.

  • A correct operation of the appliance is obtained when the  heater is installed vertically. DO NOT switch the heater onnear pieces of furniture, curtains, and shelves etc.

  • The appliance should be placed with a minimum distance of 50cm from flammable objects, walls or other structures.
    The appliance openings must not be obstructed in any way.

  • Do not place the appliance on instable surfaces (e.g. a bed),
    where it can tip over.

  • The appliance must not be operated directly on high pile carpets.

  • Always use the heater in an upright position.

  • Before switching on the appliance check if the electrical voltage and frequency of the circuit correspond to those indicated.

  • DO NOT locate the heater below a socket outlet.

  • DO NOT use this heater with a programmer, timer, separate remote control system or any other device that switches the heater on automatically, since a fire risk exists if the heater is covered or positioned incorrectly.

  • DO NOT connect the appliance to extension cords or multiple outlets.

  • Only connect the heater to a single-phase socket with a main voltage as specified on the rating plate.

  • The appliance is NOT suitable for connection to permanent wiring.

  • The socket outlet MUST be accessible at all times to ensure that the mains plug can be disconnected as quickly as possible.

  • Position the power cord so that it does not pose a tripping hazard and possibly cause the appliance to be knocked over.

  • WARNING! this heater is not equipped with a device to control the room temperature.

  •  WARNING! The heater must not be used if the glass bulbs are
    damaged.
    During Use:

  • DO NOT cover the heater, as this will cause overheating.

  • DO NOT put the cable on the appliance when it is still warm.

  • DO NOT leave the appliance unattended while in use, ensure that the switch is in OFF (0) position and always unplug the appliance when not in use.

  • DO NOT use this heater in a small rooms occupied by persons not capable of leaving the room on their own, unless constant supervision is provided.

  • Keep the box, as this can be used for storage.

CAUTION! Some parts of this product can become very hot and cause burns.
Particular attention has to be given where children and vulnerable people are present.

General Safety Warnings:

  • The appliance may only be opened up and repaired by authorised qualified personnel.

  • Keep the heater clean. DO NOT insert or allow any objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust openings as this may cause electric shock, or fire or damage to the heater.

  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

  • In order to avoid a hazard due to inadvertent resetting of the thermal cutout, this appliance must not be supplied through an external switching device, such as a timer, or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by the utility.

  • Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised.

  • Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall only switch on/off the appliance provided that it has been placed or installed in its intended operating position and they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

  • Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall not plug in, regulate and clean the appliance or perform user maintenance.

  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

  • If the unit becomes damaged or stops working, switch it off and do not try to repair it. Contact the manufacturer and ask for advice. Repairs must be only be carried out by a qualified competent person.

  • When the appliance is not in use, switch it off and unplug it.
    Make harmless the parts of the appliance, which could be handled hazardously by children.

  • The fireguard does not give full protection for young children and for infirm persons.

Cleaning Safety Warnings:

  • Before cleaning the appliance or carrying out any maintenance switch off and unplug the heater.
  • Switch the appliance off and unplug it before cleaning.
  • In order to avoid any hazard, only clean the appliance with a dry clean cloth.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children\ without supervision.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

IMPORTANT! Please refer to the ‘Cleaning Safety Warnings’ above before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance.

  • Before cleaning, always switch off the appliance and remove the plug from the electrical socket.
  • After use and before cleaning always unplug the appliance and wait until the item is cool.
  • The appliance needs only external regular cleaning.
  • Clean the air inlet/outlet grilles frequently.
  • Only use a dry clean cloth.
  • Air inlet- and outlet area should be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner regularly.
  • If the appliance is not used for extended periods, it must be protected against excessive dust and dirt.

WARNING
• Clean the housing with a dry clean cloth, vacuum cleaner or brush. Do not use any abrasive or caustic cleaning agents.

  • Do not use any flammable cleaning agents e.g. petrol or spirit for cleaning the appliance.
  • NEVER IMMERSE THE HEATER IN WATER TO CLEAN IT!
  • Do not allow the interior to get wet as this could create  a hazard.
  • In case of malfunction or doubt, do not try to repair the radiator yourself, it may result in a fire hazard or electric shock.

ASSEMBLING THE HEATER

Assemble the main heater body and the base plate together by completing the following steps:

  1. Remove butterfly nuts from the lower part of the main heater body.
  2. Insert the power cord through the slot found in the middle part of the base and then fix the main heater body to the base plate.
  3. Secure the main heater body to the base plate using the two butterfly nuts previously removed.
  4. Insert the power cord through the slots and then fix it with  the clamp.

SERVICE

If the connecting cable (or mains plug) is damaged, it must be replaced by a particular cable which is available from our service department. Replacement of the connecting cable must only be carried out by our service department or by a qualified person (qualified electrician).

USING YOUR HEATER

Please note: after switching on the appliance for the first time and after an extended period of non-use, a smell may be noticed for a short time.
Place the heater on a flat level surface.
Once the heater has been properly attached to the base, plug the heater in (check that the outlet has at least a 10-AMP current carrying capacity) and switch on the first “POWER” switch. This will operate the first heat setting (400W) the second switch will operate the 800W setting bringing two of the halogen elements on and the third will operate the final full power (1200W) setting. The final turn switch operates the oscillating mode which rotates the heater though an angle of approximately 75°. Push the “Turn” button to activate the oscillating action, press it again to switch it off.
Press OFF to turn unit off.

SAFETY DEVICE

This heater comes installed with a safety device which switches off the appliance if it is tilted or tipped over.

STORAGE

  • Before storing for long periods, thoroughly clean the whole appliance and its accessories.

  • Gather up the cable neatly before storing.

  • Store the appliance out of the reach of children, in a stable and secure position, in a cool and dry

  • place, avoid locations that are too high and too low in temperature.
    Protect it from exposure to direct sunlight. Keep the unit stored in a cool place if possible.

  • Don, t store the unit in plastic bags to avoid humidity build-up.

BULB GUARANTEE INFORMATION

  • You must follow the guidance in the guarantee about the use of bulbs.
  • These conditions (particularly Condition 5 of the guarantee) set out various circumstances (including wear and tear and failure to follow the instruction booklet) in which no cover is provided by this Guarantee.
  • Bulb failure is the almost inevitable consequence of one or more of such circumstances, and accordingly Supa will not accept returned goods with failed bulbs.
