INTRODUCTION

Charging the battery

You have three ways to charge the radio:

Solar panel
Expose the solar panel (11) to sunlight to generate electricity to charge the radio. This method is normally used to maintain daily operation and not as the main power source. The charging LED (16) will flash during charging.

Hand crank
Unfold the hand crank (12) on the back of the radio. Crank by hand either clockwise or counterclockwise for 3-5 minutes to activate the internal battery for first use, or if the unit has not been used for more than 60 days. For further charging, turn the crank for 2-3 minutes to generate power for approximately 15-20 minu- tes of LED light, or 15-20 minutes of radio operation at medium volume. The charging LED (16) will flash during charging.

Micro-USB
Connect the supplied micro-USB cable to the micro-USB input (9) of the radio. Connect the cable to a suitable power supply (5V DC, 800mA, not included). The charging LED (16) flashes during charging. Remove the power supply once fully charged.
Note: If the battery is overcharged or short-circuited, the device switches off automatically. If the battery voltage drops below 2.5 V, the device switches off automatically.

Radio operation

  • Turn on the unit/adjust the volume:

    • Turn the On/Off, Volume knob (8) clockwise to turn the radio on and adjust the volume.
    • Turn the On/Off, Volume knob (8) counterclockwise to turn the radio off.
  • Band Selection
    Use the radio band selector to set the desired band. Choose between AM/FM/WB*.

  • Station Search
    Turn the station setting knob (6) to select a station. The tuning LED (15) lights up when the selected station is fully receivable.

    • Note: Fully extend the radio’s telescopic antenna (13) to improve reception.
    • Note*: WB band and related features, are available only in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Bermuda.

LED light

Press the „LED Lamp On/Off button (2) once to turn the lamp on in normal illumination mode. Press again to turn the lamp off.

SOS function

Press the „LED light on/off button” (2) twice in succession to activate the SOS function. You will here a shrill beep tone. In the even of an emergency situation, you can thus draw the attention of rescue workers, for example. The signal tone is deactivated by pressing the button again.

Charging external devices via USB

Open the cover (14). Insert the USB-A plug of a charging cable into the standard USB port of the radio (10), and the other end into the external device to be charged. External devices will be charged at 5V when the battery level is sufficient.

Safety Instructions

  • Never open the device.
  • Do not immerse the device in water and protect it from moisture.
  • Never connect cables by force.
  • Unplug electronic devices when not in use for an extended period of time.
  • Do not use the device if it shows visible damage.
    No liability will be accepted for damage caused by incorrect operation!
