Product Information
The Intellinet Network Solutions Media Converter Chassis (Model # 507356) is designed to accommodate up to 14 media converters in a single unit. It provides strong redundancy with two integrated power supplies and ensures a cool operating environment with two high-volume cooling fans. The chassis is electrically isolated from the next, allowing for safe and efficient media converter swapping.
Product Usage Instructions
Installation
- Remove the slot cover by turning the screw counter-clockwise.
- Attach the carrier bracket to the media converter. First, unscrew the two screws on the side of the media converter housing.
- Use these screws to affix the bracket to the media converter housing. You will need a Phillips head screwdriver.
- Note: Attach the bracket to the side of the media converter where the power plug is located. Check the rear of the media converter housing to determine which side the carrier brackets need to be connected to.
- Insert the Media Converter into the chassis and tighten the screw by turning it clockwise.
- Install the chassis in a standard 19 rack or cabinet. Connect both power supplies to a power outlet and set them both to the On position.
Maintenance
To dispose of the product, please follow the Waste Electrical & Electronic
Equipment (WEEE) disposal guidelines applicable in your region. Do not treat
the product as unsorted household waste. Contact your local municipality or
return the product to the point of sale for proper recycling.

Installation

Remove the slot cover by turning the screw counter clockwise.

Attach the carrier bracket to the media converter. First, unscrew the two screws on the side of the media converter housing, as indicated by the circles.

Next, use these screws to affix the bracket to the media converter housing. You will need a screw driver with a Phillips head (“crosshead”).
Note: You need to attach the bracket to the side of the media converter on which the power plug is located. Check the rear of the media converter housing to find out on which side the carrier brackets need to be connected to. -
Insert Media Converter into the chassis, and then tighten the screw by turning it clockwise.

Install the chassis in a standard 19” rack or cabinet. Connect both power supplies with a power outlet and set them both to the On position.
Maintenance
- Always power on both power supplies by setting both power buttons to the On position. Doing so will significantly increase the life-span of the power supplies.
- At dangerous power levels, the rear POWER LED will turn red. Disconnect the chassis from the power at once.
- If the fuse on the rear has blown, the POWER LED will turn off.
- Disconnect the chassis from the power and replace the fuse. Power the chassis back on. If the fuse breaks again, discontinue use of the chassis at once.
- If one of the chassis fans stops working, discontinue use of the chassis at once. Contact your place of purchase concerning the possible warranty replacement.
- If a media converter stops functioning, try resetting the media converter in the chassis to ensure proper contact of the power connectors.
- If one of the power supplies has failed, do not attempt to replace it yourself. Contact your place of purchase concerning the possible warranty replacement.
