KVM-SWITCHES Quick Start Guide
V2.0
Introduction
Thank you for choosing FS KVM switches. This guide is designed to familiarize you with the layout of the KVM switches and describes how to deploy them in your network.
Accessories
NOTE: The number of RJ45 to VGA Interface Module for KVM-0802IP and KVM- 080217IP is 8, and that of KVM-160217IP is 16. Rack-mount Kit is provided for KVM-080217IP and KVM-160217IP only.
Hardware Overview
Front Panel Buttons
Buttons | Components | Function |

1∼8/16 | Port Selection | Switch freely from port 1 to port 8/16. |
1 | Reset | Press [1] and [2] at the same time for three seconds to reset the |
keyboard and mouse.

3| Brightness| Press the port button. And adjust the mode. Press (3] for three
seconds to enter brightness adjusting mode. Number 33 is flashing on the LED
tube. Then press [5] and (6] to adjust. Press (3] to exit or wait for five
seconds and it will auto-exit.
4| Definition| Press [4] for three seconds to enter the definition adjusting
mode. Number 44 is flashing on the LED tube.Then press [5] and (6] to adjust.
Press [4] to exit or wait for five seconds and it will auto-exit.
5| Adjust+| Press [5] to enhance the brightness after entering brightness
adjusting mode, or enhance the definition after entering the corresponding
mode.
6| Adjust-/Initialize| Press [6] to reduce the brightness after entering the
corresponding mode, or reduce the definition after entering the corresponding
mode. Press [6] for three seconds to initialize the brightness and definition
of each port.
7| Scan| Press [7] and (8] at the same time for three seconds to enter the
auto-scan mode.

LED OSD Controls

AUTO/EXIT | Press this button to exit the current menu and return to the |
previous menu or exit the LED OSD, or enter automatic configuration.
SL-/SL+| Press this button to move your menu to make the corresponding
adjustment.
MENU SELECT| Press this button to invoke the menu function and open the main
menu.
Front Panel LEDs

Green | KVM is powered on. |
Red | Power off or access non-standard VESA signal. |
Flashing Green | Energy saving mode or no signal. |

Online LED | Green | KVM has been connectedto its corresponding computer and |
powered on.
Selected LED| Orange| The computer attached to its corresponding port is up
and running.
Station ID| /| Display the current port.

Site Environment
- Donot operate it in an area that exceeds an ambient temperature of 40°C or nearby heat sources.
- The installation site should be well-ventilated.
- Besure that the KVM switch is level and stable to avoid any hazardous conditions.
- Do not install the equipment in a dusty environment.
- The installation site must be free from leaking or dripping water, heavy dew, and humidity.
Installing
Rack Mounting
- Attach the switch to the rack using six M6 screws and nuts.
- Slide the rack-mount kit into the switch’s side mounting brackets from the back to the front, then screw the rack-mount kit to the rack.
NOTE: The rack-mount kit is provided for KVM-080217IP and KVM-160217IP
only.
Grounding the Switch
- Connect one end of the grounding wire to a proper earth ground, such as the rack in which the KVM switch is mounted.
- Secure the grounding lug to the grounding point on the KVM switch’s back panel with the washers and screw.
Connecting to the RJ45 Ports
- Connect an Ethernet cable to the RJ45 port of the KVM switch.
- Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the RJ45 port of the supplied RJ45 to the VGA Interface Module and then connect the VGA port of the Module to a server or computer.
Connecting to the LAN Port
- Connect an Ethernet cable to the RJ45 port of a server or computer.
- Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the LAN port of the switch.
Connecting to USB and HDMI Ports
Connect external keyboard, mouse and monitor (optional).
Connecting the Power
- Plug the provided AC power cord into the power port on the back of the KVM switch.
- Connect the other end of the power cord to an AC power source.
WARNING: Do not install power cables while the power is on.
NOTE: DC power cord is not included in the package.
Opening & Closing the Console

Release the lock and pull the KVM console.
NOTE: The locking can only be performed horizontally. It can’t bear any load. -
Pull the KVM console all the way out until it clicks into place.

Open the LED panel to display the LED screen. And the LED panel can be rotated up to 108°.
Closing the Console
KVM-080217IP/KVM-16021 7IP
- Close the LED panel and the power will automatically shut down.
- Push the release catch in the direction of the arrow. And push the LED panel in until it automatically locks up.
- Lock the LED panel.
Local Control
Step 1: KVM-080217IP and KVM-160217IP can be set with their keyboard and
LED screen. While KVM-0802IP can be set with the external keyboard, mouse and
monitor connected to the USB and HDMI port of the back panel.
Step 2: Release the lock, pull the KVM console from the server rack and
open the screen.
Step 3: There will be two “beeps” after the KVM powers on. The ONLINE
LEDs on the front panel keep green flashing and an UI window appears for you
to input the user name and password.

Remote Control
NOTE:
- Since Win11 disables Internet Explorer, the series are only available for Win10 and the previous versions.
- You can choose to purchase KVM-IPC for remote access in Win11 or other operating systems, for the product is not restricted by operating system or browser.
Step 1: Remote control setting is worked through the computer connected to the
LAN port of the KVM back panel.
Step 2: Open the IE browser, click top-right settings — [Internet Options]
Step 3: Click [Security] [Custom Level] Step 4: Find [ActiveX controls and
plugins], choose [Enable] Step 5: Click [Advanced], find [Allow software to
run or install even if the signature is invalid] and select it.
Step 6: If you want to set another IP address, please enter Local [System
Setting] — [Network Setting] NOTE: Please remember the IP address for the
remote control.
Step 7: Open an explorer, enter 192.168.1.167 and the interface shows below:
User Name: admin
Password: admin
After logging in for the first time, a prompt for “loading the ActiveX” will
appear below the browser.
Click “Allow” to bring up the “Download Video Plugin” dialog box. Click “OK”
to use the video plugin.
NOTE: For security, please change the password after the first login.
