Read this Use & Care Guide. It will help you assemble and operate your new Kenmore steam mop in the safest and most effective way. You will need the complete model and serial numbers when requesting information. Your steam mop’s model and serial numbers are located on the Model and Serial Number Plate. IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Read all instructions in this guide before assembling or using your steam mop.
WARNING!
Your safety is important to us. To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, injury to persons or damage when using your steam mop, follow basic safety precautions including the following:

  • Read this Use & Care Guide carefully and follow the instructions closely.
  • Not for space heating purposes.
  • Make sure the household voltage is the same as that indicated on the rating label of the unit
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children shall not play with the appliance.
  • Keep the appliance away from children when it is energized or cooling down.
  • Always switch off, unplug from the socket after use or before cleaning the appliance or any maintenance task.
  • Do not unplug by pulling and jerking the cord with force.
  • Do not handle the plug or the appliance with wet hands.
  • Use only the attatched parts which are supplied by the manufacturer.
  • This appliance is intended for household use only. Do not use the appliance at any outdoor area. Commercial use will void warranty.
  • Do not leave the appliance unattended while it is connected to the main power outlet.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid any hazard.
  •  Do not step on or wrap the cord around arms or legs when using the appliance.
  • Do not pull, lift or carry the appliance by its supply cord. In order to avoid damages to the cord, do not pull the cord around sharp corners and edges.
  • Do not use the appliance if it has been dropped, if there are visible signs of damage or if it appears faulty or if it is leaking.
  • Keep the appliance away from the ovens and stoves etc.
  • Do not position the appliance above you when cleaning the stairs.
  • Unplug the steam mop before filing the water container and do not over fill.
  • The water container cap must not be opened during use.
  • Do not immerse the appliance into the water or other liquids.
  • Do not add chemicals, detergents, perfumes or liquids other than water into the water tank of the appliance.
  • Keep the appliance dry to protect against electric shock.
  • Do not use the appliance to clean or direct steam towards animals, people or plants.
  • Do not use on any unsealed hard floor surfaces. It is always recommended to test an isolated area of the surface to be cleaned before proceeding. It is also recommended to check the use and care instructions from the floor manufacturer.
  • Liquid or steam must not be directed towards equipment containing electrical components, such as ovens.

CAUTION Steam mop generates hot steam and components in contact with water will also reach high temperatures. Please be extra careful when using the unit to avoid scalding. Surfaces are also in high temperature during use. Avoid contact with the surfaces and steam. Do not let children get close to the steam mop or use it without any supervision.

LIMITED WARRANTY
FOR ONE YEAR from the date of sale this product is warranted against defects in material or workmanship.
WITH PROOF OF SALE a defective product will be replaced free of charge. The Kenmore brand is used under license. Direct all claims for warranty service to: 1-877-531-7321 (US) / 1-844-608-3081 (CA). This warranty does not cover textile pads, which are expendable parts that can wear out from normal use within the warranty period. This warranty is void if this product is ever used for other than private household purposes. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

A Phillips head screwdriver is required.

Before assembling the steam mop, check the PACKING LIST (page 2). Use this list to verify that you have received all the components of your new Kenmore Steam Mop.
WARNING DO NOT plug in your steam mop until you are familiar with all instructions and operating procedures.

  1. Align the handle to the metal tube and insert it into place. Install the provided screw into the hole on the metal tube with a Phillips screwdriver. Do not over-tighten the screw.

  2. Align the metal tube to the main body of steam mop and insert it. Make sure the metal tube is locked in position and secure.

  3. Place the handheld steam mop onto the main body of the steam mop until a ‘click’ is heard.

  4. Make sure the upper cord hook is in the proper position as shown. Wrap the power cord loosely around the upper and lower cord hooks.
    NOTE: Make sure to wrap the power cord around the upper cord hook first, and then around the lower cord hook to avoid damaging the power cord.

  5. Lock power cord plug onto the power cord.

WARNING Electrical Shock and Personal Injury Hazard Wrapping the cord too tightly with excessive stress on the cord may cause cord damage. A damaged cord is an electrical shock hazard and could cause personal injury or damage.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Turn the upper cord hook to either side and down to release the power cord.

WARNING
To reduce the risk of electric shock, this appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet. Do not change the plug in any way.

  1. Detach the power cord plug from the power cord.

WARNING Personal Injury and Product Damage Hazard
• When any abnormality/failure occurs, stop using the product immediately and disconnect the power plug.
• DO NOT use outlets above counters. Damage from cord to items in surrounding area could occur.

FILLING THE WATER TANK

  1. Before you begin cleaning, turn the water tank cap counter clockwise and open it.

  2.  Fill up the water tank with cold distilled water and close the tank cap.

NOTE: In order to reduce mineral build-up and prolong the lifespan of steam mop, the use of distilled or de-mineralized water is highly recommended.
CAUTION DO NOT add any chemicals, detergents or perfumes into the water tank.
WARNING Always unplug the steam mop when adding water or changing a textile pad.
OPERATION MODES
STEAM CLEANING HARD FLOORS
NOTE: Always sweep or vacuum the floor to remove the dirt and debris before steam cleaning.
NOTE: Prior to use, wash the textile pad to remove lint.

  • DO NOT use the steam mop without textile pad attached to the floor head.
  • DO NOT use the carpet slider when cleaning hard floors.
  1. Plug the power cord plug into an outlet located near the floor. The On/Off LED will be flashing red as the warm up status.

  2.  After about 20 seconds, the On/Off LED will stop flashing and keep red light on indicating the mop is ready for use.

  3. Press the variable steam control button once to start steam cleaning. The steam mop operates with High volume of steam by default. The 2 LEN for steam flow rate will keep blue light on.
    NOTE: The variable steam control button can be used to select Low or High
    volume of steam, depending on your specific cleaning requirement. It can also be used to start or stop the steam mop. Press the variable steam control button one more time will switch the steam mop into Low volume of steam. One LED for steam flow rate will keep blue light on.

  4. Recline the mop by placing a foot on the floor head and lowering the main body towards the floor.

  5. Move the mop slowly backwards and forwards, and pay extra attention to high foot traffic areas or common areas
    CAUTION DO NOT allow the steam mop to remain in one spot for any length of time as damage to the floor surface may occur.

  6. Once you have completed steaming, press the variable steam control button to stop the steam mop and put the steam mop back in the upright position. Unplug the power cord plug from the outlet.

CAUTION

  • Always unplug the steam mop when removing the floor head or handle.
  • Always ensure the steam mop has fully cooled down before removing the floor head.

WARNING

  • Steam cleaning is safe for all sealed hard floor surfaces, but should not be used on unsealed (not waxed) surface.
  • Steam mops are designed to be used on horizontal surfaces only.

USING HANDHELD STEAM MOP

  1. Make sure the steam mop is unplugged from the outlet and it has cooled down.

  2.  Push the release button on the main body to take out the handheld steam mop.

  3. Fit the tool adapter to steam nozzle of handheld steam mop. Insert the adapter until it is locked in position and secure.

  4.  Choose the desired attachment and fit it onto the tool adapter as shown. Insert the tool and rotate counter-clockwise until it is locked in position and secure.

    IMPORTANT! Ensure that the accessories are securely fastened before using the handheld steam mop. If steam escapes from the joint, it means the accessories are not correctly fitted. Allow the unit to cool then remove and re-fit the accessories.

  5. Turn the water tank cap counter clockwise and open it.

  6. Fill up the water tank with cold distilled water and close the tank cap.

      CAUTION DO NOT add any chemicals, detergents or perfumes into the water tank.

  7. Plug the handheld steam mop into an outlet. The On/Off LED will be flashing red as the warm up status.

  8. After about 20 seconds, the On/Off LED will go out and the 2 LEDs for steam flow rate will keep blue light on indicating the handheld steam mop is ready for use.

  9. To produce steam, press and hold the steam release trigger. The handheld steam mop operates with High volume of steam by default. To stop producing steam, release the trigger.

  10. The variable steam control button is used to select Low or High volume of steam, depending on your specific cleaning requirement

  11. Once you have completed steaming, unplug the power cord plug from the outlet. Re-assemble the handheld steam mop to the main body after it has fully cooled down.

ATTACHMENTS
The included tool adapter, bristle tool, angle tool and scraper tool can only be attached onto the handheld steam mop.

TOOL ADAPTER
The tool adapter is attached onto the handheld steam mop. Use it for cleaning heavily soiled areas such as washrooms and kitchens.

BRISTLE TOOL
The bristle tool is attached onto the tool adapter. Use it for cleaning stubborn grease and grime.

SCRAPER TOOL
The scraper tool is attached onto the tool adapter. Use it for cleaning over grills and racks.

ANGLE TOOL
The angle tool is attached onto the tool adapter. Use it for cleaning places with deep cracks and corners, such as stove tops and sinks.

CARPET SLIDER
The carpet slider is used on carpet, sofa, fabrics, etc. Do not use it when cleaning hard floors.

IMPORTANT! Inspect the seal on the steam nozzle before each use. If the seal is missing or damaged, do not use the appliance, please call 1-877-531-7321 (US) / 1-844-608-3081 (CA) for assistance.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE

Always follow all safety precautions when performing maintenance to the steam mop.
WARNING Electrical Shock and Personal Injury Hazard
Disconnect electrical supply before servicing or cleaning the steam mop. Failure to do so could result in electrical shock or personal injury from steam mop suddenly starting.
CAUTION Always ensure the appliance has fully cooled down before performing any maintenance tasks.
EMPTYING THE WATER TANK

  1. Unplug the mop from the main power and ensure the unit has cooled.

  2. Push the release button on the main body to take out the handheld steam mop.

  3. Turn the water tank cap counter clockwise and open it.

  4.  Empty any excess water from the tank and close it.

REMOVING THE TOOL ADAPTER & ACCESSORIES

  1. Unplug the mop from the main power and ensure the unit has cooled.

  2. Press the tool adapter release button and pull the tool adapter out of the steam nozzle.

  3. Rotate the small accessory and pull it out of the tool adapter.

  4. Clean the surface and bristles of the tools with warm water.

REMOVING & CLEANING THE TEXTILE PAD

  1. Unplug the mop from the main power and ensure the unit has cooled.

  2.  If necessary, remove the carpet slider by undoing the locking latch, then peel the textile pad from the floor head.

  3. Wash the textile pad with mild detergent at max temperature 104°F (40°C). IMPORTANT! Do not use bleach or fabric softener to wash the textile pad. NOTE: The textile pads shall be maintained regularly. Textile pads should be washed after every use.
    WARNING
    • Wash the textile pads separately from other fabrics to avoid picking up lint.
    • We recommend only using liquid detergent, as powder detergents can leave behind a residue on the microfiber.

REMOVING & CLEANING THE TEXTILE PAD
WARNING

  • Do not use any fabric softeners or bleach when cleaning the textile pads, as this could damage the microfiber material.
  • In order to prolong the life of the textile pads, we recommend that you air dry them. • We recommend that the textile pads should be replaced every three to four months.

INSTALLING THE TEXTILE PAD

  1. Unplug the mop from the main power and ensure the unit has cooled.

  2. Attach the textile pad to the floor head.

  3. Reinstall the carpet slider to the floor head. First align the carpet slider to the floor head and lock the locking tabs to the floor head as shown. Then lock the other side of the carpet slider to the floor head using the locking latch. Ensure the carpet slider is locked in position and secure.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Review this table to find do-it-yourself solutions for minor performance problems. Any service needed, other than maintenance described in this Use & Care Guide, should be performed by a qualified service agent.
WARNING Disconnect electrical supply and ensure the appliance has cooled before performing maintenance or troubleshooting. Failure to do so could result in electrical shock or personal injury.

PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTION
The steam mop does not switch on. Unplugged at wall outlet. Make sure the

unit is fully plugged into a good wall outlet.
Defective power cord.| Check the power cord condition if there are any damage or loose. Contact with customer support if necessary.
Blown fuse or tripped breaker.| Replace fuse and reset the breaker.
Not plugged properly.| Plug the cord into the outlet properly.
The steam mop is not producing steam.| Water tank may be empty.| Make sure there is water inside the water tank.
Heating up time is not finished.| Wait for approx. 20 seconds after plugged in.
Water tank is not installed properly.| Install the tank properly until you hear a “click”.
Steam path may be blocked.| Clear blockages from the channels.
Improper liquid used.| Use only distilled water.
The textile pad is not picking up dirt| Textile pad is dirty.| Make sure the textile pad is clean.
