Programming

There are three entryphone programming modes: assignment of an identification code or call code (indispensable), assignment of a secondary identification code (for entryphones associated with a master entryphone), programming of push buttons for auxiliary services and intercom calls (when necessary).
Programming must be carried out with the system switched on, without active communication and only after the entryphones/ monitors have been connected to the system and the entrance panels have been programmed.
Programming the main ID identification code
The identification code is programmed by means of a main entrance panel (MASTER), already configured and present in the system. The interphone is supplied without associated identification code. To verify this condition, press the door lock push button “ ” and the entryphone should emit a triple “beep”.
Warning: when programming the entryphone, you have only 30 seconds from the moment of entering the programming mode in which to press the call button on the entrance panel or to send the code.
Programming phase:

  1. Lift the handset and place to the ear.
  2. Press and hold down the door lock push button “ ” for 6 s.
  3. When the time runs out the internal unit will emit a “beep” in the handset (0.5 s).
  4. Release the door lock push button “ ”. When the push button is released the communication will be signalled by a “beep” with a different frequency.
  5. In push button entrance panels, press the call button corresponding to the entryphone, while with alphanumeric panels enter the call code and confirm (press push button “ ” or “ ”, depending on the entrance panel model).
    1. If the system contains an internal unit already has the same associated identification code, the panel emits a low tone and the operation will have to be repeated from point 2.
  6. Otherwise the code is associated with the entryphone and communication is terminated.

If the unit has been programmed correctly you will here a tone in the handset, otherwise repeat the programming sequence.
Programming secondary ID
Programming of the secondary identification code is only required when more than one entryphone is to be called simultaneously using the same pushbutton or call code. The entryphones that are to ring simultaneously must be associated with the same group. The “master” entryphone is programmed first by means of the “identification code programming” main ID procedure described above, while the additional group entryphones are programmed with the secondary identification code (see “Table of master and secondary ID correspondence given below).
The maximum number of entryphones that can be associated with the same group, without using a programmer art. 950C or SaveProg, is 3 plus the master unit.
Programming phase:

  1. Lift the handset and place to the ear.
  2. Press and hold down the door lock push button “ ” for 6 s.
  3. When the time runs out the internal unit will emit a “beep” in the handset (0.5 s).
  4. Continue to hold down the door lock push button “ ”.
  5. After 2 s more the internal unit emits two “beeps” set apart (duration 0.5 s).
  6. Release the door lock push button “ ”. When the push button is released the communication will be signalled by a “beep” with a different frequency.
  7. In push button entrance panels, press the call button corresponding to the “master” entryphone, while with alphanumeric panels enter the call code on the “master entryphone and confirm (press push button “ ” or “ ”, depending on the entrance panel model).

If the unit has been programmed correctly you will here a tone in the handset, otherwise repeat the programming sequence.
Pushbutton programming
The entryphone is fitted with a push button for the auxiliary service function “stair light”, which activates the 1st relay of the 1st actuator (art. 69RH and 69PH), if connected to the system. To change the push button operating mode, use programmer art. 950C or
SaveProg, with the exception of programming intercom and selfstart service push buttons associated with a specific panel. If a pushbutton is programmed for a specific function, the interphone emits a “Click” when pressed, otherwise it does not emit any signal
Programming the push button for intercom calls (only one push button available)
Programming phase:

  1. Lift the handset of the 8879.1 or 8879.1/D entryphone to be programmed and hold to the ear.
  2. Press and hold down the stair light push button “ ”.
  3. When the entryphone has emitted a “beep” in the handset release the stair light push button “ ” and press the door lock push button “ ” on the entryphone/video entryphone to call.
  4. Another “beep” in the handset confirms that the “stair light” button “ ” has been programmed as an intercom call button.

Programming the self-start pushbutton to a specific panel.
Programming phase:

  1. Lift the handset and place to the ear.
  2. Press and hold down the stair light push button “ ”.
  3. When the entryphone has emitted a “beep” in the handset, release the stair light push button “ ”.
  4. In push button entrance panels, press the call button corresponding to the entryphone, while with alphanumeric panels enter the call code and confirm (press push button “ ” or “ ”, depending on the entrance panel model).
  5. A high tone in the handset confirms the end of the procedure. The entryphone will be called from the relative panel.

Restoring the default value of the stair light push button “ ”
Programming phase:

  1. Lift the handset and place to the ear.
  2. Press and hold down the stair light push button “ ”.
  3. After 6 seconds the interphone emits a high tone.
  4. Release the stair light push button “ ” and press again to restore to the default value.

Deleting all programmed settings.
This procedure is recommended when you want to change the ID of a previously programmed entryphone/video entryphone and you do not need to retain the programmed operation settings of the device.
Programming phase:

  1. Lift the handset and place to the ear.
  2. Press and hold down the door lock push button “ ” for 6 s.
  3. When the time runs out the internal unit will emit a “beep” in the handset (0.5 s).
  4. Continue to hold down the door lock push button
  5. After 2 s more the internal unit emits two “beeps” set apart (duration 0.5 s with a space in between).
  6. Continue to hold down the door lock push button “ ”.
  7. After 2 s more the internal unit emits a continuous tone for 5 s
  8. Release the door lock push button “ ”.
  9. While the internal unit is still emitting a continuous tone, press the door lock push button “ ”.
  10. When the door lock push button “ ” is released three “beeps” will be emitted.

Operation

Calls from an entrance panel, intercom calls and door calls are identified by different tones.
The call ringtone is on the handset; if the handset is off the hook, the call rings at a lower volume which can only be heard when the handset is at the ear.
Entrance panel call
Calls from entrance panels do not correspond to the presses of the call button but are generated internally in the entryphone. The call interval is 1 second of ringtone and 2 seconds of pause repeated twice (default value set on panel). To answer, raise the handset. If the handset is already raised when the call is received, replace it and then lift it again. The call answer time (30 s) and the conversation time (2 minutes by default) are set in the panel parameters When the conversation time has elapsed, the user can continue without replacing the handset if a new call is made within 10 seconds from the same panel.
Intercom call
Lift the entryphone handset and press the intercom button. On the handset of the entryphone called, you will hear a call tone (if the call is enabled) or an engaged tone (if not enabled). On the called entryphone, the ringtone will start with a cycle of 1 second ringing followed by a 4 second pause. The maximum duration of the call is 30 seconds (6 cycles). To answer the call, simply raise the handset; the maximum duration of the conversation is 5 minutes. When the conversation time has elapsed, the user can continue without replacing the handset if a new call is made within 10 seconds. A call from an entrance panel will take priority over an intercom call.
Lock release button
On every device, the door lock button “ ” functions as described below.
– Device with handset in rest position door lock function directed to the entrance panel it was last in communication with or from which the call was made.
– Device with handset raised, but no conversation in progress call to switchboard if the switchboard flag is set to YES. Otherwise the first case applies.
– Device with handset raised and intercom conversation in progress as in the first case.
– Device with handset raised and intercom conversation in progress door lock function directed to the entrance panel with which the device is in communication or from which the call was made.

In practice, the button always operates the lock release except when you raise the handset and immediately press the lock button. This too can be set as the standard case if there is no switchboard in the system and the switchboard flag is set to NO. In SaveProg there is also a Door Lock to Master flag, used to force the entryphone when the hook is down or in the rest position, to send the door lock command only to the Master panel, however the push button is programmed and whatever the entrance panel it was last in communication with or from which the call was made.VIMAR 8879.1 Due Fili Wall Mounted
