Setup

Setting up your Logitech® X-540 Speakers

Important: For your safety, set up the system before plugging it into a power source.

  • Positioning the Speakers
    • Before attaching the cables to the subwoofer, position the speakers as follows:
    • Place the two front satellite speakers on either side of your computer monitor at an equal distance from each other and angled toward you.
    • Position the wired remote control within easy reach.
    • Place the rear left and right satellite speakers behind you, maintaining a similar distance apart from the front speakers.
    • Position the front center channel speaker on top of your monitor or on your desk, between your monitor and keyboard.
    • For optimal sound quality, position the subwoofer on the floor beneath your desk, ensuring at least 6 inches of space around it for proper ventilation.
  • Connecting the Satellite Speakers
    • Insert the colored plug from each satellite speaker into the corresponding colored jacks on the back of the subwoofer.
  • Connecting to Your PC’s Sound Card
    • If you have a PC with a 6, 7, or 8 channel (5.1, 6.1, or 7.1) sound card, follow these steps:
    • Connect all 3 colored plugs from the audio input cable to the color-coded jacks on the sound card.
    • If your sound card jacks are not color-coded, use the following connections:
      • Green plug to front L/R (or #1)
      • Black plug to rear L/R (or #2)
      • Orange plug to center/sub (or #3)
    • If you have a 4-channel sound card, follow these steps:
    • Connect the green plug from the audio input cable to your sound card’s front jack.
    • Connect the black plug to your sound card’s rear jack. Do not use the orange plug.
    • If you have a 2-channel sound card, follow these steps:
    • Connect the green plug from the audio input cable to the “line out” jack on your sound card. Do not use the black or orange plugs. Note that with a 2-channel sound card, you won’t hear sound from the rear speakers unless you activate Matrix mode.
  • Connecting to a Video Game Console
    • If you have a video game console, follow these steps:
    • Connect the green plug from the audio input cable to the green jack on the video game adapter cable.
    • Connect the red and white RCA audio cables from your video game console to the RCA audio jacks on the video game adapter cable.
    • To get surround sound from your video game console, remember to turn on Matrix mode.
  • Plug the subwoofer’s power cord into an electrical outlet.

Speaker Controls:

  • Power:
    • Switch between standby (“off”) and on.
  • Volume:

Mounting

Mounting your Logitech® X-540 Speakers

Placing your speakers on top of a flat-panel LCD monitor

The center channel speaker can be mounted on top of a flat-panel LCD monitor. Swivel the center channel base back and make sure the lip under the front of the speaker is touching the front of the LCD monitor. Then, swivel the base back until it is touching the back of the LCD monitor and tighten the hinge screw for a secure fit.

Hanging your speakers on the wall

Your Logitech® X-540 speaker satellites are wall mountable. Swivel the satellite base to the desired position, and use the notch to hang your speaker on appropriate wall anchors. Tighten the screw in the bottom of the base, if required.

Limited Warranty

Remedies.
