COOPER LIGHTING SWPD2 WaveLinx Industrial Standalone Sensor Kit
Instruction Manual
General Information
Overview
The industrial high bay and low bay sensors are an integral part of the
WaveLinx Connected Lighting System and offer passive infrared (PIR) occupancy
and a photocell for closed loop daylighting. WaveLinx industrial sensors offer
installation heights up to 40 feet and have coverage patterns up to 5000
square feet (see sensor specifications – field of view). When part of
WaveLinx, the sensor operates on a wireless mesh network based on IEEE
802.15.4 standards.
The sensors offer simple tool-less integration into WaveLinx industrial light fixtures equipped with the 4-pin Zhaga Book 18 compliant socket (including sidecar). Once installed, sensors receive power from their co-located light fixture with no batteries to replace. The sensor in combination with the WaveLinx Mobile application allows you to gain considerable energy savings from occupancy and daylight sensing lighting control. The Wave Linx Mobile application allows you to map the sensor to any area or control zone, select occupancy or vacancy, occupied and unoccupied light levels and set the hold time.
Specifications
Technology: WaveLinx industrial sidecar sensor for downlight fixtures control based on IEEE 802.15.4. Compatible only with Cooper Lighting Solutions Lighting WaveLinx Wireless Systems.
Wiring Diagram
Installation
De-energize electrical circuit prior to work
- Install the control module inside the fixture
- Insert and secure the sidecar housing
- Wire per the electrical diagram
- Install the sensor (twist to lock)
Out-of-the-box functionality (if connected to loads)
Fixture operates via the onboard occupancy sensor.
- Occupancy turns fixture ON to 100%
- Fixture will dim to 10% within 20 minutes when space is vacant
Note: Daylighting is disabled until the fixture is assigned to an area using the WaveLinx Mobile Application.
Wireless setup
- Upon power up, the WaveLinx Industrial Sidecar Sensor Kit will search for an Cooper Lighting Solutions WaveLinx wireless network while powering connected luminaires to 100% when occupied.
- When the WaveLinx Industrial Sidecar Sensor Kit locates and successfully joins a WaveLinx wireless network, the connected luminaires will dim to 10% (if using 0-10V wiring)
- This feature is used to visually inspect which sensors successfully join the wireless network.
- Industrial sidecar sensors that did not pair correctly will remain at 100% (0-10V) or 100% (no 0-10V).
- When the pairing is complete all industrial sidecar sensors become part of the default area and dimmable zone.
Note: Please refer to WaveLinx manual to complete configuration.
LED Indicator Definitions
There are two major LED patterns for the WaveLinx Industrial Sidecar Sensor:
- When the industrial sidecar sensor is not connected to the WaveLinx wireless network the LED in the sensor will blink Green.
- When the industrial sidecar sensor is connected to the WaveLinx network the LED in the sensor will blink White.
