SANDWICH TOASTER
Introduction
To get the most out of your new sandwich toaster, please read through these
instructions before use.
Please also save the instructions in case you need to refer to them at a later
date.

Special safety instructions
The appliance is not to be used by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge
unless they have been given supervision or instruction.
Children must be supervised not to play with the appliance.
Do not leave children unattended in the vicinity of the sandwich toaster when
it is switched on.
This appliance is intended to be used in households and similar applications
such as:
- staff kitchen areas in shops, offices, and other working environments.
- farmhouses.
- by clients in hotels, motels, and other residential-type environments.
- bed and breakfast type environments.
Should the cable become damaged, it must be replaced at a workshop specified
by the manufacturer.
Should the appliance become damaged, it must be taken to a specialist for
repair.
If the appliance is subjected to unauthorised repairs the guarantee will
become void.
Never attempt to repair the appliance yourself.
The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or
a separate remote-control system.
The sandwich toaster gets very hot during use!
The sandwich toaster must be placed on a heat-resistant surface. Please note
that the feet on the sandwich toaster may leave a mark on the surface.
The sandwich toaster must not be placed on, over or in the vicinity of a gas
burner or other cooking plates.
Do not allow the cord to hang over the table edge, etc. and do not allow it to
come into contact with hot objects. Make sure that the cord does not get
trapped between the sandwich toaster plates.
The sandwich toaster must not be covered when in use, as this may cause a
fire.
The cord, plug and sandwich toaster must not be exposed to water, liquids or
splashes, as this may lead to a risk of electric shock.
The sandwich toaster is only designed for making toasted sandwiches. Do not
attempt to heat or cook other foodstuffs in the sandwich toaster.
Before use
Open the sandwich toaster.
Wipe the hotplates with a damp cloth and allow them to dry.
Apply a thin layer of cooking oil to the hotplates.
Close the sandwich toaster and plug the appliance in.
Allow the sandwich toaster to heat up for a few minutes. The appliance may
emit a smell or smoke. This will disappear after a short time.
The sandwich toaster is now ready for use.
Use
Close the sandwich toaster.
Insert the plug into the mains socket and switch on the power.
The indicator light and thermostat light come on to show that the sandwich
toaster is on and is heating up.
Once the hotplates reach the preset temperature, the thermostat light goes
out. The thermostat will then go on and off to keep the sandwich toaster at
the set temperature.
Open the sandwich toaster.
Prepare two sandwiches by buttering four slices of sandwich bread. Place two
slices of bread on the hotplate with the buttered side facing down.
Place the filling on the slices of bread and place the other slices of bread
on top with the buttered side facing upwards.
Lower the top hotplate down onto the sandwiches. Close the hotplates together
using the handles and lock them together with the lock.
NB! If the sandwiches are so thick that the handles cannot easily be locked
together, you must not press them together.
Allow the sandwiches to toast for 2-3 minutes and then check them to ensure
they are not burning.
Once the sandwiches have acquired the desired colour, remove them from the
hotplates with a utensil made of wood or soft plastic. Do not use metal
utensils, as they can damage the coating on the hotplates.
Cleaning and maintenance
Unplug the sandwich toaster and allow it to cool before cleaning it.
Never submerge the sandwich toaster in water. All external and internal
surfaces can be cleaned with a damp cloth.
Soften any food residues stuck to the hotplates using a little cooking oil,
and then scrape them off using a utensil made of wood or soft plastic.
Do not use sharp or abrasive objects when cleaning the sandwich toaster.
