Preparation

Open the battery cover on the rear of the outdoor sensor. Insert the batteries. Check
that the batteries are correctly fitted. All the segments on the LCD display come on for 3 seconds. Close the battery cover.

The temperature and the relative humidity at the sensor are registered.

The sensor transmits a signal to the weather station once a minute and the transmission indicator fl ashes.

Plug the adapter in and connect the connector from the adapter into the power connector on the weather station.
The weather station comes on, and all the segments on the LCD display come on for 3 seconds.

The temperature, the relative humidity and the air pressure at the weather station are registered. The time and date are automatically set via a time signal.

The weather station will now connect to the sensor. This takes about 3 minutes, and the antenna symbol in the OUT area of the weather station display will fl ash.

Shortly afterwards the temperature outdoors and the relative humidity outdoors are shown on the OUT area of the weather station’s display. If no data is received from the sensor, “-.-” will be displayed instead.

If you press and hold the “-” button for 3 seconds, the weather station will resume the search for the signal from the sensor.

Open the battery cover on the back of the weather station and insert the batteries.
Check that the batteries are correctly fitted.
Close the battery cover.

The batteries in the weather station function as back-up in the event of a power cut.

Receiving a time signal

Once the batteries are inserted, the appliance tries to receive a time signal for up to 7 minutes, and the radio mast icon fl ashes.

Every night at 01:00/02:00/03:00 the reception process will be repeated automatically and the time will be synchronized if a time signal is received. If reception fails, the radio mast icon will go off , and the weather station will automatically resume the reception process at the next hour change. This procedure is repeated up to 5 times.

If you press and hold the “+” button you can manually activate reception of the time signal. If no time signal is received for 7 minutes, the search will stop and the radio mast icon will go off .
The search will resume at the next hour change.

Note!
During the search, all the buttons except the “+” button will be inactive. Press the “+” button to stop the search so that all the other buttons work again.

If the radio mast icon fl ashes, this means that the weather station is receiving a time signal.

If the radio mast icon is lit continuously, this means that the time signal was received correctly. If it is goes off , reception failed.

We recommend a minimum distance of 2.5 metres to interference sources such as TV sets and computer monitors.

Signal reception is inferior in rooms with concrete walls (e.g. in cellars) and offices.
In such areas, place the appliance near to a window.

Manual setting

Press and hold the SET/MODE button for 2 seconds.

The temperature unit starts flashing.

Use the “+” and “-” buttons to choose between the temperature units °C and °F. Press the SET/MODE button to confirm the setting.

The air pressure unit starts fl ashing. Use the “+” and “-” buttons to choose between the air pressure units hPa and inHg.

Press the SET/MODE button to confirm the setting.

The 12/24 hour display will start to fl ash. Use the “+” and “-” buttons to choose between 12 and 24 hour display.

Press the SET/MODE button to confirm the setting.

The radio mast icon starts fl ashing.

Use the “+” and “-” buttons to switch the daily reception of a time signal on (ON) and off (OFF).

Press the SET/MODE button to confirm the setting.

The time zone starts to fl ash. Use the “+” and “-” buttons to set the time zone (-12 to +12). Press the SET/MODE button to confirm the setting.

The hour number starts to fl ash. Use the “+” and “-” buttons to set the hour.

Press the SET/MODE button to confirm the setting.

The minute number starts to fl ash. Use the “+” and “-” buttons to set the minute.

Press the SET/MODE button to confirm the setting.

The icon for month and date starts to flash. Use the “+” and “-” buttons to change between displaying month/date and date/ month.

Press the SET/MODE button to confirm the setting.

The year 2014 starts to fl ash. Use the “+” and “-” buttons to set the year.

Press the SET/MODE button to confirm the setting.

The month starts to fl ash. Use the “+” and “-” buttons to set the month.

Press the SET/MODE button to confirm the setting.

The date starts to fl ash. Use the “+” and “-” buttons to set the date.

Press the SET/MODE button to confirm the setting.

The language for the day of the week starts to fl ash. The day of the week can be displayed in 7 languages: German, English,
French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch and Danish.

Use the “+” and “-” buttons to select the language.

Press the SET/MODE button to confirm and conclude your settings.
The time is then displayed.

Note!
After 20 seconds without any button being pressed, the weather station switches from setting mode to displaying the time.

Press the SET/MODE button to switch between displaying the date, day, time with seconds or alarm time.

Setting the daily alarm

When the time is displayed, press the ALARM button once. The display shows the alarm icon (11).

Press and hold the ALARM button for 2 seconds until the alarm time fl ashes.

The hour number of the alarm will fl ash.

Use the “+” and “-” buttons to set the hour.

Press the ALARM button to confirm the setting.

The minute number of the alarm will fl ash.

Use the “+” and “-” buttons to set the minute.

Press the ALARM button to confirm and conclude the setting.

Briefl y press the ALARM button to switch the daily alarm on and off .

Note!
After 7 seconds without any button being pressed, the appliance switches from setting mode to displaying the time.

The alarm sounds for 2 minutes unless you press any button to stop the alarm or keep the SNOOZE/LIGHT button pressed for at least 2 seconds. In that case the alarm will repeat automatically after 24 hours.
The volume of the alarm increases in 4 steps during the 2 minutes the alarm sounds.

Automatic snooze function

Press the SNOOZE/LIGHT button one or more times while the alarm sounds to activate the snooze function.

Once the snooze function is activated, the snooze function icon is shown on the display.
The alarm stops and resumes again after 5-60 minutes.

Background lighting

You can adjust the brightness of the background lighting in 3 steps or turn it off by pressing the sun icon button one or more times.

Displays

Temperature and humidity

The weather station displays the temperature and relative humidity indoors and outdoors on the display.

If you press the MEM button once, the highest values registered since the last reset will be displayed.

If you press the MEM button twice, the lowest values registered since the last reset will be displayed.

If you press the MEM button 3 times, the current values will be displayed.

If you press and hold the MEM button for around 2 seconds, the stored values will be deleted.

If the values are lower or higher than the weather station’s measurement range, LL.L or HH.H respectively will be displayed.

The arrows in the boxes to the right of the values indicate if the temperature and relative humidity are rising, stable or falling.

Outdoor temperature alarm

Press and hold the ALERT button for 2 seconds. The icon for the upper temperature alarm fl ashes.

Use the “+” and “-” buttons to set the upper temperature limit.
Press the ALARM button to confirm.

The icon for the lower temperature alarm flashes.

Use the “+” and “-” buttons to set the lower temperature limit.

Press the ALARM button to confirm. Switch the outdoor temperature alarm on and off by pressing the ALERT button.

If the outdoor temperature falls outside the set limits, an alarm sounds 5 times every minute, the temperature alarm icon fl ashes, and “HI” (high) or “LO” (low) fl ashes on the display to indicate that the outdoor temperature is too high or too low.

Frost alert

If the temperature outside falls to between -1 and +3 °C, the frost alert symbol will fl ash.

Air pressure

The weather station has a built-in barometer and shows the current air pressure.
The graph indicates if the air pressure is falling, stable or rising.

Weather forecast

The weather station can calculate a simple weather forecast for the next 12 hours based on the air pressure.
The weather forecast is displayed with the following symbols:

Comfort

The weather station displays a smiley to indicate how comfortable the combination of the indoor temperature and humidity is:

Moon phase

The weather station displays the moon phase using symbols:

Low battery warning

If the battery symbol appears on the display, the batteries in the sensor need replacing.

Cleaning and maintenance

Wipe the weather station and sensor regularly with a soft cloth.
Remove the batteries if you do not intend to use the weather station and sensor for an extended period to avoid battery leakage.
