- Read all instructions.
- This appliance shall not be used by children. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used near children. Do not attempt disassembly. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by Handi-Craft Company and may cause injuries.
- Ensure that the wall outlet voltage matches the voltage of the appliance.
- Do not operate appliance after it malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair or adjustment.
- If the supply cord or plug is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualied person in order to avoid hazard.
- Place appliance on a level, heat-resistant surface.
- Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
- Do not let cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
- DO NOT IMMERSE IN WATER.

- Do not use outdoors.
- Unplug from outlet when not in use and before adding water.
- Do not spill liquid on cord or plug.
- Do not move appliance while in use or when it contains hot liquids.
- To operate, plug cord into wall outlet. To disconnect, press power button, then remove plug from wall outlet.
- DO NOT open lid or reach over the appliance while in use, as steam will cause burns and serious injuries.
- DO NOT touch hot surfaces, including lid, tray and lower rack, during or immediately after use.

- DO NOT EXCEED the recommended amount of water.
- If it is necessary to drain water from the base, always POUR AWAY FROM YOU.
- As the unit switches from the sterilization to the drying cycle, it is expected to see a large initial release of steam as the fan turns on. Keep a safe distance from the unit while this cycle is in process.
- Unplug from outlet and allow to cool for 60 minutes before cleaning and descaling the unit or replacing the lter.
- Be careful to avoid spilling or splashing water on yourself when removing contents.
- The heating element surface is subject to residual heat after use.
- Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children.
- Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
- Appliances are not intended to be operated by means of an external timer orseparate remote-control system.
- OT FOR SPACE HEATING PURPOSES.
- This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to t in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not t fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not t, contact a qualied electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way.
- A short power-supply cord (or short detachable power-supply cord) is provided to reduce the risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
- Extension cords (or longer detachable power-supply cords) are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
- If an extension cord (or a long detachable power-supply cord) is used:
- The marked electrical rating of the detachable power-supply cord or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance;
- If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding-type 3- wire cord; and
- The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be tripped over, snagged, or pulled on unintentionally (especially by children)

PREPARING FOR USE
CAUTION: Unplug from outlet before adding water.

Wash items to be sterilized in hot, soapy water and rinse well.

Position the appliance on a level, heat-resistant surface and out of reach of children.

Remove the lower rack, tray and lid from the base.
-
For Automatic Sterilize/Dry or Sterilize Only functions, ll the measuring cup to the solid FILL LINE (110 mL) with NON-MINERAL BOTTLED WATER and pour the water ONTO THE HEATING PLATE. For Dry Only function, do not add water.
Note: For best performance, use recommended water and descale monthly. Water with minerals may shorten the life of this appliance.
CAUTION: DO NOT EXCEED the recommended amount of water. -
Place the lower rack on the base. Arrange bottles or cups upside down over prongs and add small items in remaining space. If using Dr. Brown’s® bottles, see page 3 for suggested arrangements.

Stack the tray on top of the lower rack and add additional small items.
Note: This appliance can sterilize any item that can withstand boiling water, such as paciers/soothers, teethers, toys and utensils. -
Place the lid on top of the tray. Ensure that the lid ts securely on the tray without any gaps.

USING THE APPLIANCE

Automatic Sterilize/Dry
Press the Power Button.
Note : When the sterilizer is turned on, the appliance will beep and the indicator above the power button will light up.
Choose the desired function:
Automatic Sterilize/Dry
A Press the Automatic Sterilize/Dry Button. The appliance will beep one
time and the sterilization cycle will start.
Note: If there is not enough water added, incomplete sterilization may
occur. If the unit was not able to sterilize completely, it will beep and the
indicator light will ash for one hour. If this happens, wait 10 minutes to
allow unit to cool, then add water to the solid FILL LINE of the measuring
cup (110 mL), pour the water onto the heating plate and restart the
sterilization cycle.
WARNING: DO NOT open lid or reach over the appliance while in use, as
steam will cause burns and serious injuries. DO NOT touch hot surfaces,
including lid, tray and lower rack, during or immediately after use.
B When the sterilization cycle is complete, the drying cycle will begin
automatically. The drying cycle lasts approximately 45 mins.
CAUTION: As the unit switches from the sterilization to the drying cycle,
it is expected to see a large initial release of steam as the fan turns on.
Keep a safe distance from the unit while this cycle is in process.
C When the drying cycle is complete, the appliance will beep 5 times and
switch o automatically.
Sterilize Only
A Press the Sterilize Only Button. The appliance will beep one time and the
sterilization cycle will start.
Note: If there is not enough water added, incomplete sterilization may
occur. If the unit was not able to sterilize completely, it will beep and the
indicator light will ash for one hour. If this happens, wait 10 minutes to
allow unit to cool, then add water to the solid FILL LINE of the measuring cup
(110 mL), pour the water onto the heating plate and restart the sterilization
cycle.
WARNING: DO NOT open lid or reach over the appliance while in use, as
steam will cause burns and serious injuries. DO NOT touch hot surfaces,
including lid, tray and lower rack, during or immediately after use.
B When the sterilization cycle is complete, the appliance will beep 5
times and switch o automatically.
Note: This cycle lasts approximately 9 minutes but may vary by the amount
of water you add, the number of items to be sterilized and other environmental
factors.
CAUTION: Wait 10 minutes for parts to cool, then open lid carefully by
handle and beware of residual steam.
Dry Only
A Press the Dry Only Button. The appliance will beep one time and the drying
cycle will start.
B When the drying cycle is complete, the appliance will beep 5 times and
switch o automatically. This cycle lasts approximately 45 minutes.
Note: Any cycle can be stopped at any time by pressing the power button.
CAUTION: If it is necessary to drain water from the base, always POUR AWAY FROM YOU, as shown by the symbol on base.
CLEANING THE APPLIANCE
CAUTION: Unplug from outlet and allow to cool for 60 minutes before cleaning. DO NOT IMMERSE IN WATER. Clean at least once a week when in regular use.
BASE AND HEATING PLATE: Wipe all surfaces with a damp cloth or sponge.
TRAY, LID, LOWER RACK AND MEASURING CUP: Clean in hot, soapy water and
rinse well, or in a dishwasher (top rack only). Allow to air dry.
Note: DO NOT use scouring pads, abrasives, bleach or solvents for cleaning. DO NOT disassemble base. There are no serviceable parts inside.
DESCALING
CAUTION: Unplug from outlet and allow to cool for 60 minutes before descaling. Mineral deposits, like limescale, may form on the metal heating element in the base. As the mineral deposits build, it can slow or disrupt the sterilization cycle. Depending on the water type in your area, mineral deposits may vary in appearance but the harder the water, the quicker it builds up. Mineral deposits are not known to be harmful, but they may impair the function of appliances or damage components. Using non-mineral bottled water can help prevent buildup, but regular descaling is needed for best performance. To remove the mineral deposits, follow the steps below.
- Remove the lower rack, tray and lid from the base.
- Descale utilizing a mixture of vinegar/water:
A Fill measuring cup to the dashed line (80 mL) with white vinegar.
B Add an additional 30 mL of non-mineral bottled water to reach the solid FILL LINE of the measuring cup (110 mL total).
C Pour the mixture ONTO THE HEATING PLATE.
D Reassemble empty unit.
E Plug into wall outlet, press the Power Button and run a Sterilize Only cycle.
F Empty any remaining solution and rinse with clean water.
Note: Do not use bleach, harsh abrasives or solvents to clean the heating plate, as they may cause permanent damage and may void the warranty

REPLACING THE FILTER

REPLACING THE FILTER
CAUTION: Unplug from outlet and allow to cool for 60 minutes before replacing lter. Replace the lter every six months of regular use for optimal performance. Follow the steps below: -
The lter is located at the bottom of the base. Gently squeeze the latches on the lter cover to remove it.

Remove and replace the lter, ensuring the pull tab is still visible on top of the lter.

Snap the lter cover back into position.
Note: Filter must always be used to ensure proper performance
2 filters are included.
To purchase replacement filters, contact your local distributor.

This appliance is warranted against defective material or workmanship for a period of one year from the date of purchase. Any defective part will be repaired or replaced at no charge if it has not been tampered with and appliance has been used according to these printed instructions. This warranty gives you specic legal rights as well as other rights which vary from state to state.
This warranty does not cover a defect that has been caused by negligence, accidents or improper use of the appliance. To keep your Dr. Brown’s™ Bottle Sterilizer and Dryer in good condition and retain your warranty, USE ONLY AS DIRECTED.
