Assembly Instructions
-
Step 1 – Attach the Spigot
First, remove all nuts from Spigot. Wrap the plumber’s seal tape 3-4 wraps, wrapping clockwise (the same direction you would screw on the nut). -
Screw the Flat Nut about halfway onto the Spigot—the narrow side of the Flat Nut facing the handle. Place the Rubber Washer onto the spigot pipe. Push the spigot pipe into the hole on the Hot Water Tank.
Thread the Brass Nut onto the spigot pipe and tighten with the provided wrench. Just get this snug—not too tight. If needed, adjust the Flat Nut so you can tighten the Brass Nut down on the Rubber Washer and tank wall. The Rubber Washer will be on the outside of the tank, the Brass Nut on the inside. See image. -
Step 2 – Attach The Hot Water Tank to the Stove
Your Colorado Cylinder Stove has hangers for the Hot Water Tank on both left and right sides (choose which side is more convenient). Place the groove on the top of the Hot Water Tank over hangers on the stove. Make sure it is securely attached.
Use
Fill with water. The water level should be approximately 2 inches below the
top of the tank. Don’t overfill. Make a fire and enjoy hot water.
CAUTION! You should maintain an adequate water level of at least 3 inches of
water in the hot water tank. Letting your tank run dry, while attached to a
hot stove, can cause it to warp, or damage the spigot. The hot water tank
should be removed from the stove when not in use.
Takedown and Storage
- Allow the fire to burn out, and the stove and hot water tank to completely cool before takedown.
- Lift the tank off the stove.
- Unscrew the nut and remove the spigot.
- Dry the water from the tank.
- The hot water tank is designed to fit and be stored inside your stove.
