IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

WHEN USING ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES, PRECAUTIONS SHOULD ALWAYS BE FOLLOWED. TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRICAL SHOCK AND INJURY TO PERSONS, INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING:

  • Read all instructions.

  • Ensure that the wall outlet voltage matches the voltage of the appliance.

  • Do not operate appliance after it malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair or adjustment.

  • If the supply cord or plug is damaged, it must be replaced by Handi-Craft, its service agent or similarly qualified person in order to avoid hazard.

  • Use on level surface and be sure there is no debris under the unit and the rubber pads are touching the surface.

  • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.

  • Do not let cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.

  • DO NOT IMMERSE IN WATER.

  • HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY.

  • Do not use outdoors.

  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before adding water.

  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.

  • To protect against fire, electric shock and injury to persons do not immerse cord or plugs in water or other liquid.

  • Do not spill liquid on cord or plug.

  • Do not move appliance while in use or when it contains hot liquids.

  • To operate, plug cord into wall outlet. To disconnect, remove plug from wall outlet.

  • Always test content temperature before feeding your baby.

  • Unplug from outlet and allow to cool before cleaning.

  • Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children.

  • This appliance shall not be used by children. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used near children.

  • Do not use appliance for other than intended use.

  • Appliances are not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.

  • Do not attempt disassembly. The use of accessory attachments is not recommended by Handi-Craft Company and may cause injuries.

  • This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.

  • A short power-supply cord (or short detachable power-supply cord) is provided to reduce the risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.

  • Extension cords (or longer detachable power-supply cords) are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.

  • If an extension cord (or a long detachable power-supply cord) is used:
    1. The marked electrical rating of the detachable power-supply cord or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance;
    2. If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding-type 3- wire cord; and
    3. The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be tripped over, snagged, or pulled on unintentionally (especially by children).

  • Misuse of the product may cause potential injury.

  • Before servicing, unplug cord from wall outlet. Do not leave cord within child’s reach.

WARNING:

  • Never fill reservoir with formula
  • Never pour boiling water into reservoir
  • Always keep water level between the MIN and MAX fill lines

PREPARING FOR USE

  1. Wash reservoir and lid before use according to cleaning instructions on page 4.
    CAUTION: Do not plug unit in without filling reservoir with water first.

  2. Remove lid and add water to the reservoir. Water level must always remain between the MIN and MAX fill lines.

  3. Replace lid on top of reservoir. Replace water after 24 hours or when water is depleted (whichever comes first).

WARMING

  1. Once water is added to reservoir as outlined in steps 1-3 of Preparing for Use, plug in power cord. The Insta-Prep™ turns on as soon as it is plugged in.

  2. Press Temperature Control Button until you reach your desired water temperature.
    A. Blue – room temperature, no heat
    B. Yellow – around body temperature
    C. Red – slightly above body temperature
    NOTE: The indicator light blinks slowly while the water is warming and turns solid once
    it has reached the desired temperature. The indicator light blinks quickly when the water temperature is above the desired temperature and needs to cool.
    Depending on the starting temperature of the water added to the reservoir, it could take 10-20 minutes to warm to the desired temperature.

  3. Press Light Button to turn the light on or off.

  4. Place bottle in bottle holder, centering it as much as possible.

  5. Press down on the water dispenser to fill bottle with water and release to stop dispensing water.

  6. Add formula powder to bottle. Always follow formula manufacturer’s instructions for preparation.

CAUTION: ALWAYS TEST CONTENT TEMPERATURE BEFORE FEEDING YOUR BABY.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If the warmer is not operating, check that:
A. The power cord is connected to the power outlet.
B. Water has been added to the reservoir.

CLEANING

CAUTION: Unplug from outlet and allow to cool before cleaning.

DO NOT IMMERSE IN WATER.

NOTE: DO NOT use bleach, scouring pads, abrasive cleaners, or solvents for cleaning.

Water Reservoir and Lid: Before each use, hand wash with warm, soapy water, rinse, and dry thoroughly.

CAUTION: Water reservoir is glass. Handle with care.

Base: Wipe with damp cloth or sponge.

WARRANTY

This warming appliance is warranted against defective material or workmanship for a period of one year from the date of purchase. Any defective part will be repaired or replaced at no charge if it has not been tampered with and appliance has been used according to these printed instructions. This warranty gives you specific legal rights as well as other rights which vary from state to state.

This warranty does not cover a defect that has been caused by negligence, accidents or improper use of the appliance. To keep this appliance in good condition and retain your warranty, USE ONLY AS DIRECTED.
