Fence Voltmeter 6 Light
Type 14494C 87159C – 09/22
Application Notes
With this fence tester, the fence voltage at any point of the fence system or
also the output voltage directly at the energiser can be measured.
The tester is operated without a battery.
Voltage measurement
For measurement, the device is switched between earth (earth stake) and fence (contact eye). Voltage values > 2.000 volts are to be rated as safe in accordance with VDE. The higher the voltage, the more secure your fence system works.
Leads / voltage at the ground stake
In the case of leads, reverse currents generate a voltage at the ground pole. If there are voltages at the ground pole, discharges are present at the fence and must be removed. The grounding should be improved by adding ground piles.
Faulty insulation
A defective insulation leads to current discharge over the iron pole. This can be determined with the help of the fence tester.
Volt / Volts | voltage |
---|---|
> 10.000 – 6.000 V | very good |
6.000 – 4.000 V | good |
4.000 – 2.000 V | sufficient |
Low kv | too low |
