horizont farmer AN1000 Electric Fencer
Product Information
The farmer AN1000 is an electric fence controller designed for use in agricultural settings. It is available in two models: Type 10855 and Type 10856, with the latter being the solar-powered variant. The controller is compatible with safety devices SECURA ANIMAL or SECURA SECURITY.
The device operates using either a 9V battery or a 12V rechargeable lead battery. It features LED lights to indicate the battery status and residual capacity. The device can also be powered by a 230V mains adapter. The farmer AN1000 is equipped with a power economiser that adjusts power consumption based on the fence’s insulation quality. Repair and replacement of parts should only be carried out by qualified service personnel using manufacturer- approved replacement parts.
Product Usage Instructions
- To power the device using a 9V dry battery, open the casing and attach the battery. Connect the device to the 9V battery, ensuring correct polarity.
- If the LED light flashes green, the battery is good and has a residual capacity between 15-100%. No action is required.
- If the LED light flashes red/green, the battery has a residual capacity between 5-15%. Consider changing the battery soon.
- If the LED light flashes red, the battery has a residual capacity of 5%. Change the 9V battery immediately.
- To power the device using a 12V lead battery, ensure only rechargeable batteries are used. Rechargeable batteries with ventilation should only be charged in well-ventilated rooms. If charging with a non-listed charger directly connected to the lead battery, remove the battery from the device. Store and charge the rechargeable battery at normal room temperature before and after each use, as well as during longer periods of storage (approximately every 2 months).
- If the LED light flashes green/red, the battery has a residualcapacity between 40-100%. The battery is good and no further action is required.
- If the LED light flashes red, the battery has a residual capacity between 20-40%. Charge the 12V battery.
- If the LED light flashes red/green, the battery has a residual capacity between 0-20%. The battery is very low and should be charged immediately.
- Note that the battery values may vary due to temperature and measuring deviation when using a solar panel.
- To power the device using a 230V mains adapter, use only the specified adapter.

precautions.

MOUNTING AND INSTALLATION
Set the device up in as moist a location as possible. The earth stake must be inserted into the ground as far as possible at a moisty place and must be connected to the earth terminal ( ) of the controller by means of a noncorrosive wire. Connect the fence connecting lead to the fence terminal ( ). The device is only protected against moisture if it is properly assembled. Shield the device from direct solar irradiation. Do not operate the device when it is lying on the floor. Set the device up in a location where there is no fire hazard.
OPERATION
Turn on with button 1 . After few seconds a LED is flashing with the pulses under the window 1 . The device transmits the impulse to the fence. If the LED does not illuminate, either the 9 V battery or the 12 V accumulator is empty, or the device or the 230 V power supply is defective. Only use rechargeable 12 V lead batteries; rechargeable batteries with ventilation should only be recharged in well-ventilated rooms. When charging with a charger that is not listed in these instructions and is connected directly to the 12 V lead battery, you must remove the rechargeable battery from the device. The rechargeable battery should be stored and charged at normal room temperature before and after every use as well as during longer periods of storage in the house (every 2 months).
OPERATION WITH OPTIONAL 9V DRY BATTERY (FIG. 6)
(use only alkaline batteries 170 Ah)
- Open casing and attach 9 Volt battery. Connect device with 9V battery (red + / black -), take care you have the right polarity.
- Please note, that this values can vary due to the dependence of temperature (capacity) and mesuring deviation (tension).
OPERATION 12V RECHARGEABLE ACCUMULATOR
Charged accumulators up to 85Ah should be placed in the buttom part 84676. Bigger sized accumulators should be placed beside the energiser (Fig. 4b). Connect the controller to a 12V wet battery (Fig 4c) ( red + / black – ), ensure that the terminals are absolutely clean and the polarity is correct. After a few seconds a slight tic-tac can be heard. In case of wrong polarity the controller will not operate.
Please use only rechargeable 12V-lead-batteries. Rechargeable batteries with aeration should just been charged in well ventilated rooms. Disconnect the 12V- lead-acid batteriy during charging with an external charger from the electric fencer. The battery should be charged before and after every usage and during longer storage (every 2 months). The battery needs to be charged at the latest, when it is discharged of 80% (only 20% charging capacity), so that a deep discharge can be prevented. The battery indicator light 1 „accu-test“
- Please note, that this values can vary due to the dependence of temperature (capacity) and mesuring deviation (tension) by using a solar panel.
OPERATION OF 230V WITH AN OPTIONAL ADAPTER (FIG. 5)
For 230V operation the energizer should be and the adapter must be installed in a room protected from moisture.
For the operation of 230V power supply only use the mains adapter 47PSU0010FEU/FUK, as specified on the intermediate plate in the device! After a few seconds a slight tic-tac can be heard. In case of wrong polarity the controller will not operate. The fence voltage level 1 flashes with the pulses.
With the wall plug transformer 47PSU0010FEU/FUK a connected 12V battery can be charged in a parallel operation. When the 230V supply falls out from the energizer will be supplied by the battery. During the usage of the mains adapter please disconnect the 9V dry battery.
COMMISSIONING WITH SOLAR PANEL(≤ 20 W)
The device has a built-on solar charge regulator (if the device is switched on). Feed the solar cable into the housing through the cable inlet on the back of the device and connect in the housing lid. Make sure that the polarity is correct. Trouble-free solar operation is only possible in connection with a 9 V battery or a 12 V rechargeable battery! Below 0 Grad Celsius it is recommended to use a big 9V alcaline battery instead a 12V rechargeable battery. Only check the rechargeable battery indicator in solar operation at dawn (without sunlight).
POWER ECONOMISER
A fitted power economiser matches power consumption to the state of the fence. This means less current consumption with well insulated fences and a greater current consumption with poorly insulated fences (leakages due to plant growth, etc.).
