ASSEMBLY
To assemble the diesel heater, follow the instructions below. See Figure 1.
- Put the wheel axle (8) through the holes in the frame. Put the cotter pins (7) into the holes in the axle. Put the wheels (9) on the wheel axle. Put a flat washer (10) at each end of the wheel axle. Lock the wheels on the axle with the nuts (11).
- Put the diesel heater on the frame and align the 4 holes in the handle (1) with the 4 holes in the frame.
- Fit the frame with the wheels and handle on the tank with screws (2), spring washers (3), flat washers (4) and nuts (6).
USE
INTENDED USE
The diesel heater is intended for use in open areas outdoors or in well- ventilated spaces indoors. When used indoors there must be permanent ventilation openings of at least 25 cm²/kW, evenly spaced over the height of the walls, with a minimum total area of 250 cm².
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
IMPORTANT:
Place the diesel heater on a flat, stable, level, non-flammable surfa
Start
- Fill the fuel tank with fresh fuel. Only use diesel oil or paraffin. The fuel indicator over the tank shows the fuel level.
- Insert the plug into an earthed power socket.
- When the above steps have been completed, the left display window shows “–” and the right display window shows the ambient temperature.
- Put the On/Off switch in the ON position (I).
- The default temperature setting is 20°C. If the thermostat dial is set to a higher temperature than the ambient temperature, turn the thermostat dial to the required temperature setting. The electrodes start sparking and the product starts after 7 seconds.
- If the thermostat dial is set to a lower temperature than the ambient temperature, turn the thermostat dial to the required temperature setting. The electrodes start sparking and the heater starts after 7 seconds.
Cold start
At low ambient temperature, put a finger over the air hole (12) when lighting to make it easier to start.
Manual reset/restart
- If the diesel heater is in locked mode, check and remove the cause of lock-out before restarting it.
- Reset by turning the On/Off switch to O and then back to I.
NOTE:
Turning the thermostat dial will not reset the diesel heater.
MALFUNCTION
In the event of malfunction (flame failure, reduced air flow, poor combustion, etc.) the diesel heater shuts down and the indicator light starts flashing. The code for locked mode is displayed on the screen.
OVERHEAT PROTECTION
The thermal cut-out will turn the diesel heater off if it overheats
MAINTENANCE
NOTE:
Turn off the diesel heater, remove the plug from the power socket and let the
heater cool down for at least 15 minutes before doing any cleaning and/or
maintenance.
- Regularly wipe the casing with a soft cloth or sponge. If necessary, use a cloth or sponge moistened with a mild detergent and wipe with a dry cloth. Make sure that no water or liquid gets inside the diesel heater when cleaning it.
- Do not open the diesel heater casing to clean internal parts. Do not spray the diesel heater with water or other liquid.
- Do not use petrol, detergents or solvents.
- Keep the air intake and fan free from dust and dirt. Clean internal parts by carefully blowing compressed air through the air intake.
- Examine the power cord and plug for damage at regular intervals. A damaged power cord or plug must be replaced by an authorised service centre to ensure safe use.
- Make sure the diesel heater is completely cool and dry before storing it. Put the diesel heater in a plastic bag and place it in the original packaging. Store in a dry, well-ventilated place.
ANNUAL MAINTENANCE
The following checks should be carried out at the start of each season. The checks must be carried out by an authorised service centre.
Nozzle
Carefully unscrew the nozzle from the connection. Blow clean the nozzle with compressed air. Replace the nozzle if necessary.
Air filter
Clean the air filter. Remove the filter cover (13), wash the air intake filter (14) with a mild detergent, allow to dry and replace. Replace the air outlet filter (15) every year
Ignition electrodes
Clean, adjust and if necessary replace the ignition electrodes. Adjust the electrode spacing as shown in fig. 4–5 (in mm).
Setting the compressor pressure
The compressor pressure is set at the factory and must be checked and adjusted by an authorised service centre only. Unauthorised adjustment can result in fatal or serious injury
-
Remove the cover over the manometer port (16).
-
Connect a manometer to the manometer port on the back of the casing.
-
Start the diesel heater and read off the pressure.
-
Adjust the pressure, if necessary, by turning the adjuster screw.
-
Turn the adjuster screw clockwise to increase the pressure, and anticlockwise to reduce the pressure.
INSPECTION OF THE FUEL TANK
Check that the tank is free from water/residue. Clean the tank, if necessary.
DRAINING THE FUEL TANK
- Place the diesel heater on a suitable table and place a container below the fuel tank.
- Undo the drain screw and empty the fuel.
- Replace the drain screw and wipe off any residual fuel.
Electrical system
Inspect cables, electrical components and connections.
MAINTENANCE INTERVAL
WARNING!
Turn off the diesel heater and unplug it from the power supply. Check that the
flame has extinguished and allow the heater to cool before carrying out any
maintenance to prevent the risk of fire and/or serious injury.
Component | Maintenance |
---|---|
Fuel tank | Clean the tank at intervals of 150–200 hours of operation. |
Outlet filter | Clean at intervals of 200 hours of operation and/ or replace |
the filter once a year.
Intake filter| Wash with warm water and soap at intervals of 500 hours of
operation or when necessary.
