Product Information

The product is an endodontic instrument used for dental procedures. It is designed to be used in the root canal to clean and shape the canal for subsequent dental treatments. The instrument is made of materials that may contain nickel, and therefore should not be used on individuals with a known allergic sensitivity to this metal. There are no known adverse reactions associated with the use of this product. The product comes with a larger ring ISO size #30 and is designed to be used with a speed of 800-1000 rpm and a torque of 1 Ncm.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Prepare the canal by cleaning it with solvent for 30 seconds.
  2. Follow by irrigating the canal with an irrigant for another 30 seconds.
  3. Finally, work with EDTA for 15 seconds.
  4. Apply a drop of solvent in the canal.
  5. Fix the canal working length by using the ruler on the plastic tube to adjust the endo stop.
  6. Place the XP-FR into the canal by lining up the tip facing the canal.
  7. Operate the instrument at a speed of 800-1000 rpm and a torque of 1 Ncm.

  • In multirooted teeth, begin with the largest canal.
  • Place a drop of solvent into the access cavity before inserting the XP-endo® Finisher R into the canal.
  • Work the entire length of the canal for 30 seconds with solvent, 30 seconds with irrigant and 15 seconds with EDTA.

General information

Indications for use :
These endodontic instruments are intended for use in medical or hospital facilities, by qualified health professionals.
XP-endo® Finisher R is used for endodontic retreatments, to finish off the filling removal phase. XP-endo® Finisher R Files fit into a dental handpiece allowing the user to perform root canal debridement.

Contraindications :
This product contains nickel, and must not be used on individuals with a known allergic sensitivity to this metal.
Adverse reactions: None known
Warnings and precautions :

  • Single-use instruments must not be retreated for subsequent use. That could compromise their integrity.
  • Always inspect the instrument(s) before use, and discard (it) them if there are any visible defect(s).
  • When an instrument reaches the end of its life, please dispose of it in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations.

Protocol for use

Speed : 800-1000 rpm

  1. XP-endo® Finisher R (XP-FR) must only be used after preparing the canal to at least ISO 30.

  2. Apply a drop of solvent in the canal.

  3. Fix the canal working length by using the ruler on the plastic tube (a) to adjust the endo stop (b) (Fig. 1).

  4. Place the XP-FR into the canal by lining up the tip facing the cusp, insert slightly into the canal (Fig. 2). Then start the motor and slowly thread the XP-FR into the canal.

  5. Use the XP-FR for 30 seconds, using slow and gentle 7-8 mm longitudinal movements to contact the full length of the canal (Fig. 3). Make small multidirectional movements and avoid removing the file from the canal.

  6. Repeat the job, making sure to alternate the solutions (30 seconds with irrigant, then 15 seconds with EDTA) in order to eliminate the suspended debris. Between each solution, clean off the debris remaining on the instrument using an alcohol soaked gauze. A syringe tip 31G is recommended (or no bigger diameter than 30G)
    Once the cleaning of the canals is completed, proceed to the next phase of treatment :

  7. Obturate with gutta-percha and sealer. TotalFill® BC Points™ and TotalFill® BC Sealer™ are recommended.
