USING THE LIVINGTON PRIME STEAM MOP
With the Livington Prime Steam Mop, floor surfaces such as, marble, ceramic, carpet, stone, linoleum, sealed hardwood floors and parquet can be cleaned.
Please Note: This product emits damp and creates humidity. Water marks, stains or damage can appear on floors if the appliance is operated on one spot for too long.

  • Do not use the appliance on untreated floors and do not leave it to stand for long periods of time on wood or heat-sensitive surfaces. This could cause the wood grain to rise, as well as other types of damage.
  • Take particular care when using the appliance on vinyl, linoleum or other heat-sensitive floors. Too much heat can lead to the melting of adhesive in the floor. Only use the appliance on laminated floors that have been professionally laid and exhibit no cracks or gaps that would allow dampness to enter.
  • Test the Livington Prime Steam Mop on a small, isolated part of your floor surface before using it extensively over the whole area.
  • Only use the carpet gliders on carpet surfaces or carpet rugs. The use of the carpet gliders on all other floor surfaces may possibly lead to streaks or scratches.
  1. Fill the water tank with water. Replace the water tank covering. Ensure that the copper cone in the water tank (illustr.7)
    Flexible Function

is always completely submerged in water during operation.
Please Note: In isolated cases the visible hose in the water tank can bend into a kink. This impairs operation. Please eliminate the kink from the hose.
TIPP: For an especially fresh aroma when cleaning, we recommend the use of Livington Steam Fragrance. This is available as an alternative accessory. It is particularly suitable for households with animals. Simply add 2 to 3 squirts to the Livington Prime Steam Mop water reservoir.

  2. Insert the mains plug into an earthed socket. Activate the power-on button and the indicator light will switch on.

  3. The Livington Prime Steam Mop has Opti Steam Technology; that means for you, regardless of which attachment or surface you are working with, the Livington Prime Steam Mop always operates at the ideal temperature or optimal steam emission. Please note that the appliance may drip on initial operation until reaching the ideal temperature. This is no malfunction, just a normal process when heating
up. To stop steam emission, turn the appliance off with the aid of the on/off switch.
TIP: The Livington Steam Mop is ideally suited to the cleaning of all hardwood floors, such as linoleum, ceramic, marble, wood etc. Ideal for the cleaning of carpets and rugs, bathrooms, kitchens, window sills, car wheels etc.

  4. Move the appliance slowly over the surface to be cleaned. The absorbent mop soaks up the dirt that has been dissolved by the steam. Use the steam generously. Keep a hand towel ready to wipe away any excess water that may accumulate.

  5.  As soon as the Livington Prime Steam Mop stops emitting steam, refill the water container for further cleaning and resume cleaning or deactivate the appliance and end the cleaning process. The Livington Prime Steam Mop has the option of filling up the tank while in activated mode, as it has an automatic water system at its disposal which stops the steam process as soon as the tank is empty.

  6. Make sure that the appliance is SWITCHED OFF after each time of use and the mains plug has been removed from the socket, so that it is completely SWITCHED OFF before the next time of use.

TIP: The mop stands by itself, by letting the shaft engage forwards.
Please Note:

  • Never use the appliance for too long on one spot. This can damage the surface of the floor. Never put your hands or feet unter the mop. The appliance gets very hot.
  • When the mop is operating, a pulsating sound may be heard. This is an entirely normal operating sound and means that the mop is producing steam. It is possible that some small drips of water are emitted along with the steam. This is also entirely normal.
  • The power and temperature of the steam can impair some materials negatively. Therefore, always test the mop first on a visible spot to make sure that the surface will not be damaged by its use.

TIP:

  • Sweep the floor or use a vacuum cleaner before using the Livington Prime Steam Mop.
  • To avoid puddle formation, the microfibre cloth should always be clean and dry. In addition, wring out the microfibre cloth as required.
  • To clean an area of your floor hygienically, leave it to work for approximately 10 seconds (but no longer than 15 seconds) on one spot.

Assembling of the hand-held cleaner

  1. The hand-held steam cleaner is the ideal portable cleaner for shelves, worktops, wash hand basins, windows, mirrors and tiles.
It can also be used for the selective cleaning of floors, carpets and rugs. Use it with the jet nozzle, the brass brush, the window cleaner, the scraper edge or the nylon brush to spray dirt, grease, mould and more away.
WARNING: Always remove the mains plug from the socket, before removing the hand-held steam cleaner.

  2. Place the steam mop in front of you the floor. Activate the release pedal and pull out the hand steamer from the mop head. Then press on the release button and slacken the steel tube (Illustration 8).
     tighten

  3. Either add the required attachment or use the appliance with the pre-installed pointed nozzle.
    FITTING THE PLUG-IN:

  4. Insert anti-clockwise into the plug-in track with gentle pressure. To remove, unscrew clockwise and pull it off (Illustration 9).
    Insert anti-clockwise
WARNING: Never use the circular metal brush on scratch-sensitive surfaces. To remove the brush, turn it clockwise and pull it from the thread of the jet nozzle.

TIP:

  • The circular brush attachment is ideal for stains that are extremely difficult to remove (for example, paint marks on the floor) and especially suitable for the cleaning of smooth, hard surfaces, such as toilets, wash hand basins, kitchen worktops, wheel rims and stubborn stains of any kind.
  • The circular metal brush is, in turn, especially effective in the cleaning of metallic surfaces, such as brick floors, grillage, metal doors, metal frames and such like.
  • Both brushes can also be used very well for the clearance of grease from pans, cooking hobs and ovens. You can also use them on dirty spots together with soap or cleaning detergents.

  13. When you do not need the appliance, store it in a dry and cool place. Do not leave it standing in the sun or rain.

  14. Upright storage of the Livington Prime Steam Mop with attached cleaning cloths can cause white marks on your floor. Always, therefore, remove the cleaning towel from your mop before storing it.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

WARNING: Make sure that the appliance is unplugged before carrying out any cleaning jobs.

Cleaning the water container
Drain and clean the water container after each time of use. Use a cleaning detergent to clean the accessory parts (jet nozzle and circular brushes) when they are dirty, then leave it to dry in the open air.

Decalcification of the water container interior:
In order to remove calcium deposits inside the water container, add one or two table spoonfuls of white vinegar to the water filled container, put the closing cap on and shake it. DO NOT SWITCH THE STEAM CLEANER ON. Leave the container to stand for several hours. Afterwards, drain the container, refill it with fresh water and rinse it out until no more deposits can be seen.
WARNING: Never immerse the Livington Prime Steam Mop entirely in water.

Removal of calcium deposits
If your Livington Prime Steam Mop starts to produce steam more slowly than usual or completely stops, a removal of calcium deposits may be necessary. These deposits form over the course of time on metal components and impair the performance of the mop to a considerable degree. Calcium deposits should be removed on a regular basis, following the use of approximately 25 to 50 full containers of water or at least once a month. This applies especially in areas with hard water. Cleaning intervals depend on the hardness grade of the water and the intensity of use of the mop.
Fundamentally, you can use tap water in the Livington Prime Steam Mop. However, in areas with hard water, we recommend the use of distilled water for a better performance.
To eliminate calcium deposits, please observe the following instructions:

Cleaning with the aid of a cleaning solution::

  1. Prepare a solution of 1/3 white vinegar and 2/3 tap water and add it to the water container.

  2. Hold the appliance in place and make sure that the steam cleaner is not directed at floors, surrounding objects or surfaces. Plug the applaince in, switch it ON, by pressing the power button (6) and leave it to produce steam, until the vinegar water solution is used up.

  3. Repeat the above process as often as necessary until the steam emission has reached a normal level.

  4. Fill the water container with fresh water and rinse it out.

  5. Fill the water container with fresh water, reinstall it in the appliance and let the steam escape until the container is empty
    WARNING: RISK OF SCALDING
Never leave the steam cleaner unsupervised during the process of removing calcium deposits or during normal use.
Please Note: Test the appliance prior to use on a suitable spot to make sure that there are no more deposits.

  6. Cleaning blocked accessory parts: Due to the high rate of minerals in the water of some areas, less steam may be emitted from the hand steam cleaner. This could be due to calcium deposits in the nozzle tip.

  7. For the elimination of calcium deposits, please proceed as follows: We recommend the use of a sprayable lubricant. Spray once or twice, in short bursts, into the tip of the nozzle. Then fill the steam cleaner with water, in accordance with the instructions, and leave it for a few minutes to continuously emit steam through the nozzle concerned, to remove the deposit.

  8. As soon as the part concerned is clean again and the steam can escape unhindered, direct the steam cleaner onto a neutral surface or a cleaning cloth to make sure that no more small particles are escaping with the steam.
