WARNING NOTES

  • Never carry the Livington SmartChill around when it is filled with water. There may still be some water in the unit even though the tank is empty.
  • Use only clean water. In areas with hard water, use distilled water.
  • Please read and follow the recommendations in the „Cleaning“ section of this manual.
  • The Livington SmartChill works best in clean spaces. Large dust/dirt particles can affect the life of the appliance.
  • We recommend using only in dry areas. When used in a humid environment, make sure that no water forms on the product‘s housing.
  • If water gets on the product, unplug the Livington SmartChill and allow it to dry for 24 hours. Then use again as usual.
  • Do not expose to direct sunlight for extended periods of time.
  • If you plan to cease use of the Livington SmartChill for an extended period of time, empty the water tank, turn on the unit, and allow it to run for at least 2 hours at maximum power. This will dry the filter and the interior of the appliance.
  • Use only the supplied power adapter.
  • Never touch the power connection or cable with wet hands.
  • Disconnect the Livington SmartChill from the power supply to clean, remove/replace the filter, or to change its location.
  • Do not place the Livington SmartChill next to a heating appliance.
  • Do not place the appliance in transit areas where it could pose a tripping hazard or be knocked over.

  • The unit is only completely turned off when the power is disconnected.
  • The manufacturer assumes no responsibility for damage resulting from non-compliance with these instructions.
  • The replaceable water filter has been specially designed for this product. If the filter is broken or damaged, you can buy a replacement part. To do this, please contact our customer service. The contact details can be found on the last page of the user manual.
  • If the supplied cable does not work properly, contact the service centre as a precaution.
  • If you open the door to change the filter, the fan will switch off and the water tank will start to flash blue until the door is closed again. This is a safety precaution.

TIPS:

  • Place the Livington SmartChill on a raised surface, such as a table, desk, or sideboard.
  • You will feel the effect greatest when sitting directly in front of the Livington SmartChill.
  • Even if the water tank is empty, the filter remains wet and the Livington SmartChill continues to cool.
  • The colder the water used, the cooler the effect. You can therefore also consider using ice water or water with ice cubes.
  • For best results, moisten the filter under cold running water, or place it in the freezer.
Note: If you buy a second filter along with the product, you can always keep one pre-cooled in the freezer.

SETUP:

  1. Place the Livington SmartChill on a level surface. NOTE: Use the built-in cable guides on the rear panel to keep the cable away from the fan (see Fig. 1).

  2. Open and fill the water tank (see Fig. 2): We recommend using a jug or measuring cup. Do not carry the appliance to fill it. Water could leak or spill from it. Open the water tank door and fill the tank to the MAX mark. Close the water tank cover when finished.

  3. Removing and moistening the filter: Open the rear door on the appliance (see Fig. 3). Now fold the black safety bar upwards (see Fig. 4) and pull out the compartment that contains the filter (Fig. 5). Now remove the filter (see Fig. 6). You can now dampen the filter. Note: For best results, moisten slightly under running water (see Fig. 7). For even greater cooling, place the wet filter in the freezer until it is frozen. Then place it back in the compartment (ensuring that the black filter cover points upwards), fold down the safety bar and close the appliance door (see Fig. 8).
Note: The appliance will not work if the door is open. This is a safety precaution.

  4. Plug the narrower end of the cable into the connector on the back of the Livington SmartChill and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet (see Fig. 1).
NOTE: Use the built-in cable guides along the back to keep the cable away from the fan.

USE:

  1. To turn on the Livington SmartChill, press the on/off switch (see Fig. 9).

  2. Set the speed of the fan by pressing the switch. You can choose between low, medium and high modes. The indicator lights next to the switch show you the speed at which the Livington SmartChill is currently running (see Fig. 9).

  3. Air flow adjustment: Press the air flow control button once to activate the swing function. The blades on the appliance will now swivel. To fix the blades in place, press the button again (see Fig. 10).

  4. Pressing the backlight button turns on night lighting – the default setting is high brightness.
    • Standard: Light on, high brightness
    • Press once: Low brightness
    • Press twice: Light off (see Fig. 11)

  5. To turn off the Livington SmartChill, press the button until the fan is switched off (one press of the button after the lowest speed) and the mode indicator lights are no longer illuminated (see Fig. 9).

CLEANING (see Fig. 12)
Disconnect the appliance from the power supply before cleaning. We recommend cleaning the water tank and the inside of the unit once a week. Use a non- abrasive cloth and, if necessary, a mild detergent. For best results, we recommend changing the filter (depending on its condition) every 3-6 months.
UNIT CLEANING
To prepare for cleaning, run Livington SmartChill until all water has emptied from the water tank, or hold the Livington SmartChill over a sink and carefully drain to avoid splashing or spilling. If you notice that the water tank is dirty, use a small flexible brush (i.e. toothbrush, bottle brush, etc.)  and gently brush the inside of the tank until it is
clean. Rinse with warm water.

CLEANING THE FILTER

Remove the filter insert from the Livington SmartChill. Using warm soapy water, wipe the filter cartridge and tray, then rinse until clean.
!!Allow to air-dry completely!! (see Fig. 7)

  1. DISHWASHER: Place the filter in the upper rack of a dishwasher and wash using a normal run.
!!Remove and allow to air-dry completely!!

  2. HAND-WASHING: Wash by hand with warm water and soap. Shake out excess water and allow to air dry.
IMPORTANT: If you notice mould on the filter or a musty odour, cease use and lean the filter before continuing use. Soak the filter in a saucepan or bowl with equal amounts of clean water and white vinegar for 45-60 minutes. Rinse with warm water, wring and allow to air-dry.

FILTER REPLACEMENT:
The water filter should be replaced every 3-6 months, or when you feel that your Livington SmartChill is not performing as it should be. The water tank will flash blue until another filter is inserted.
To order replacement filters, please contact our customer service. The contact details can be found on the last page of the user manual.

  1. Unplug the Livington SmartChill from the mains supply.
  2. Open the rear door on the appliance (see Fig. 3). Pull the black safety bar upwards, pull out the compartment and remove the filter (see Fig. 4-6).
  3. Insert the new filter as marked on the compartment and push the safety bar back down (Fig. 8).
  4. Close the door. Note: As a safety precaution, the appliance will not start if the door is not locked.
