WARNINGS:

  • To avoid injury, be careful when handling the blades.
  • Use only on dry and flat surfaces.
  • Do not force the knife blade through the knife sharpener.

ATTENTION!

  • Make sure the work surface is clean, dry and level before use. Caution should be exercised with every use. Blunt knives can, like sharp ones, cause serious injuries. When using the knife sharpener, always ensure that fingers and other body parts are clear of the blade‘s trajectory. Always clean the blade before and after use. Not suitable for ceramic blades.
  • Gauging the sharpness with your fingers may cause unexpected cuts. To test the sharpness of the knife, use a test material instead of your fingers.
  • Keep fingers away from the blade when sharpening. Handle sharpened knives with care, so as not to cut or injure yourself or others.

NOT SUITABLE FOR CERAMIC KNIVES!

USE

Setting the adjuster (#2):

  1. Press the adjuster down.
  2. Hold the adjuster, and press it to the desired point to select a suitable angle for your knife.

Angle recommendations:
Please note the angle recommendations for different knives, which are marked on the knife sharpener:

IMPORTANT: IF YOU ARE UNSURE WHICH ANGLE TO USE, WE RECOMMEND USING THE 18° ANGLE.
The specified sharpening angles are provided as general recommendations. If you are unsure, feel free to test different sharpening angles until you find the perfect angle for your knife.

How to use the knife sharpener

  1. Place the knife sharpener on a flat/level surface (kitchen worktop or similar). Then place one hand on the non-slip handle, while holding the knife to be sharpened in the other hand.

  2. Place the end of the blade upon the sharpening edge and keep the blade edge perpendicular to the undersurface –
ATTENTION: do not swing the knife left or right during the process.

  3. The knife sharpener has 3 openings/sharpening slots (#3):
No.1: Grinding – for the rough preliminary work, sharpening the knife .
No.2: Fine grinding – to remove any grinding residue.
    No.3: Polishing and deburring
For best results, we recommend putting the knife through all 3 steps.

  4. Push the knife down and pull it backwards.
WARNING : Do not press down too quickly! For best results, pull your knives in ONLY ONE DIRECTION, and not back and forth!

  5. You should pull the knife through each step a maximum of 10 times, depending on how blunt the blade is. If your knife is particularly dull, repeat the process until the desired result is achieved.
IMPORTANT: The number of strokes depends on the sharpness of or extent of damage to the knife)

CAUTION: Keep fingers and thumbs clear of the sharpening slots during use to avoid serious injury.

Sharpening scissors (#4):
To sharpen scissors, insert the scissors into the scissors slot (identified by the scissors symbol). Now push the scissor blade forward carefully, and then pull it back as usual and repeat the process several times. When sharpening scissors, you don‘t have to set an angle: there is only one fixed setting.

CLEANING

During use, metal chips can accumulate on the device and the knife you are sharpening. From time to time, wipe the knife sharpener with a soft damp cloth to remove the chips. Also be sure to remove any metal shavings from the blade when sharpening a knife with the knife sharpener. The knife sharpener should not be placed in the dishwasher; do not clean with aggressive chemicals.
