Product Information
The Trinity D3 is a digital radio with various features including FM radio, headphone output, Bluetooth wireless audio, EQ controls, USB charging, CD player, AUX IN/OUT, and MP3 support. It is manufactured by AZATOM and offers next-generation sound.
Product Usage Instructions
Operating your radio:
- Extend the telescopic aerial.
- Press the POWER button to switch on your radio. The display will show “Hello from AZATOM”.
- If this is the first time the unit goes into DAB Mode, it will automatically start an “Auto Scan” to search for available stations. (Once DAB Mode has been used before, the radio will automatically select the previously played station).
- Press the SCAN button at any time to automatically scan and store stations. During the scanning process, the lower line of the display shows a progress bar.
- When the scanning is complete, the first station will be selected and the clock will automatically set to the current time.
- If the station list is still empty after the scan, your radio will display “Service not available”.
- If no stations are found, please ensure the aerial is extended and test the reception by doing another auto scan in a different location.
Finding new radio stations:
Over time, new stations may become available. To find new stations, you can auto-scan as follows:
- Pressing SCAN at any time will automatically scan and store stations.
- Press MENU and choose “Full scan” to search for new stations.
Manually Tuning with DAB:
- Press MENU and choose “Manual tune”.
- Choose the desired frequency channel you want to select.
- Press ENTER. The graph will indicate the signal strength and the name of the DAB multiplex (group of radio stations). Any stations found will be added to the stored list in the radio.
- Press MENU to return to the normal tuning mode.
Finding new stations – FM:
- Press the > buttons to enter the station list of available stations.
- Press ENTER to select the station.
Using Presets:
You can store your preferred DAB and FM radio stations to the preset station memories.
DAB mode Preset Store:
- Press and hold the PRESET button to show “Preset Store”, not “Preset Recall”.
- Press ENTER to save, for example, Preset 01. The stored station will then rename itself to the current station stored for easy recall.

Operating your radio

Manually Tuning with DAB
Manual tuning allows you to tune your radio to a particular DAB frequency in Band III. Any new stations found will be added to the station list. This function is mainly used to assist the positioning of the aerial or the radio to optimise reception for a specific channel or frequency.
- Press MENU and choose “Manual Tune”, press ENTER to open the list of DAB frequencies.
- Choose the desired frequency channel you want to select.
- Press ENTER he graph will indicate the signal strength, and the name of the DAB multiplex (group of radio stations). Any stations found will be added to the stored list in the radio.
- Press MENU to return to the normal tuning mode.
Finding new stations
FM
- Carefully extend the aerial fully and press POWER button to switch on your radio.
- Press MODE button to enter FM mode.
- Press SCAN button to start an auto scan. When the scan has finished the
- Trinity will automatically store all available stations in memory.
- To access the saved stations press and hold for 2 seconds << or ›> buttons.
- It will scan and play the next saved FM station in the saved list.
- At any other time to search for stations press and hold for 2 seconds << or »> buttons. The radio will show “Scanning” and play next saved station.
- To fine tune a station press once the <‹ or › buttons. This will increase the frequency by 5mHz for each press.
Using Presets
You may store your preferred DAB and FM radio stations to the preset station
memories. There are 60 memory presets in your radio, 30 for DAB and 30 for FM.
DAB mode Preset Store:
- Play the desired DAB station you want to preset.
- Press and hold the PRESET button to show “Preset Store”, not “Preset Recall”.
- Turn the dial to the desired preset store number you wish to save the current playing station into.
- Press ENTER to save in choosen number slot, for example, “Preset 01 stored* will show, then rename itself to the current station now stored for quick recall via the preset menu.
- Repeat steps 1 to 4 above a store additional Preset stations.
- Stations which have been stored in preset memory may be overwritten by following the above procedure.
- REMOTE CONTROL Preset Store: You can also use the remote control to store Presets: Simply Press and hold the Preset number you want to save the playing station into. You will see the display say “Preset stored”
Important: The station you want to save in presets must be playing before
you can save it.
Preset Recall: DAB Mode
- Press the PRESET button once to show “Preset Recall” not “Preset Store ****
- Using the dial, scroll to the desired preset saved station you want to play.
- Press ENTER to play that station.
FM MODE Preset Store:
- Play the desired FM station you want to preset.
- Press and hold the PRESET button to show “Preset Store”, not “Preset Recall”
- Using the dial, scroll to the desired preset store number you wish to save the current station into.
- Press ENTER to save, for example, “Preset 01 stored* will then rename itself to the current station and be stored for quick recall via the preset menu.
- Repeat steps 1 to 4 above a store additional Preset stations.
- Stations which have been stored in preset memories may be overwritten by following the above procedure.
FM mode Preset Recall:
- Press once the PRESET button to show “Preset Recall” not “Preset Store”.
- Using dial, scroll to the desired preset saved station you want to play.
- Press ENTER to play that station.
EO Settings
The Trinity has a number of Music EQ modes you can sect from for prefered sound. There is also and independant Bass, Treble setting to fine turn.
- Press MENU button. Turn dial to “System”. Press ENTER.
- Turn dial to choose from “Rock, Speech, Normal, Class, Jazz, Pop. and My EQ.
- Select “My EQ” for “Bass, Treble” settings.
Sleep function
Your radio can be set to turn off after a preset time has elapsed.
The sleep setting can be adjusted between 15, 30, 45, 60 & 90 minutes.
- Press the MENU button and choose “System” and press ENTER
- Select “Sleep” Press ENTER to set the desired sleep time between 15, 30, 45, 60 & 90 minutes or Sleep Off which will cancel the sleep function. Then press ENTER to confirm.
Backlight Setting
Auto dim display.
- Press the MENU and select “System”.
- Use dial to select “Backlight” Press ENTER.
- You can select from “Timeout” and “Dim level” here.
- Select the “Time out” which lets you set the auto dim after an elapse time 10, 20, 30, 45, 60, 90, 120, 180 seconds, or “ON” to cancel auto dimmer.
Dim level:
- Choose High, Medium, Low or Off for the Dim level after the elapsed time of the “Timeout” setting.
Display Brightness:
At any time you can change the brightness of the display by pressing the
centre knob. Choose between High, Medium, Low or off for dimmer level.
Time & Date Settings
If there is no DAB/FM signal available, you will need to set the TIME and DATE manually when turned on for the first time.
- Press the MENU and enter “System”.
- Use ther dial to select the “Time/Date”
- You can set “Time, date, auto update, 12/24 hours, date format and clock style” here.
- Use the dial to set the correct time and date. Press ENTER after each setting to confirm.
Alarm Settings
- Press to enter “Alarm 1 setup”. Press ENTER.
- Use dial to set “Hours, Minutes”. Press ENTER after each process to confirm.
- Set alarm duration from “15, 30, 45, 60, 90” minutes. Press ENTER
- Set alarm source from “DAB, FM, USB and CD”. Press ENTER.
- Set days and frequency from “Daily, Once, Weekends, Weekdays”.
- Set the Alarm ON or OFF. Press ENTER to confirm.
NOTE: PLEASE SELECT A RADIO STATION BEFORE SETTING THE ALARM.
You will be given the option to choose from last station used or one of your
favourite preset channels.
Snooze – Stop Alarm
- When the alarm sounds, pressing the SNOOZE button will temporarily silence the alarm. Select from “5, 15, 20, and 30” minutes.
Stop Alarm:
When the alarm is sounding you can press the ALARM or STANDBY buttons one time
to stop the alarm sound. The radio will then return to Standby mode. This will
not snooze the alarm.
Disable / Enable Alarm.
You may want to disable or enable the saved alarm at some point. You can do
this at any time by pressing and holding the § buttons until you see on the
display the (a) symbols disappear or appear.
Using AUX In
Aux-in mode plays audio from an external source such as a mobile phone.
- Plug the 3.5mm audio cable (not included) into the headphone or line out jack on your source player. Plug the other end of cable into the AUX-IN jack on the rear of the unit.
- Turn on the external audio source and play your device.
- Press the MODE button until “AUX” mode is selected.
- The volume level can be now controlled through the main unit.
Notes:
- Please ensure the cable is disconnected to listen to the radio in other modes such as DAB and FM.
- If you’re connected to the Line out Jack of your external device, then you only need to adjust the volume control of this unit. If you’re connected to the Headphone Jack of your external device, then you may need to adjust both the volume control of your external device and the volume control of this unit.
CD Player
NOTE: This unit not only plays commercial compact discs but also self- complied CD-RW discs. Because of non-standardized format definition/production of CD-R/W, playback quality & performance is not guaranteed. The Manufacturer is not responsible for the playability of CD-R/W due to recording conditions such as PC performance, writing software, media properties etc. Do not attach a label or seal to either side of the CD-R/RW disc. It may cause a malfunction.
PLAY MODE:
- Press MODE button to enter CD mode.
- Insert a CD with the label side facing upward.
- The disc will auto play. The display will show disc information, total number of tracks, track playing, time elapsed.
- While playing music, press the PLAY/PAUSE button to pause playback, press PLAY/PAUSE button again to resume playing.
- Press STOP button to stop playing music. Display will show total Tracks and total CD playing time.
- To turn off the CD player, press POWER button.
NOTE: If skipping occurs during CD playback, try turning the volume down. Check the CD to ensure it is not scratched or damaged.
REPEAT MODE Repeat 1:
Press PRESET button is pressed once, you will see on LCD display. The current
track will be repeated.
Repeat All Tracks:
Press PRESET button until you see symbol. This mode will repeat the full CD.
Random Repeat:
Press PRESET button again to see symbol. This mode will play random tracks
form the CD.
To Cancel Repeat Function:
Press PRESET button again to cancel the repeat function.
SKIP AND FAST FORWARD MODE:
- During Play or Pause mode, tap the >> or << button to go to the next track or go back to the beginning of the current track.
- During playback, press and hold the >> or << button to fast forward or backwards within the current track.
PROGRAM PLAY MODE:
This function allows music tracks to be played in a programmed sequence.
IMPORTANT: CD Program setting can only be set in CD STOP mode.
- Press the PRESET button once. You would see appear on the display. This is the location you add favoutite tracks to play.
- Press the >> or < buttons to choose the Track T number. Once you choose the track number it will add to Press PRESET button again to save it and move to 102.
- You may repeat steps 1 to 2 to program up to tracks.
- Press PLAY button to start the programmed playback. Press the STOP button to stop playback.
- Programmed tracks will be played through once and then stop.
- However, you may use the REPEAT function to repeatedly play a certain track (Repeat 1) or all tracks in the program (Repeat All).
- You may also press >> button to go directly to other tracks ahead or use << button to go back to start of track or press again for previous track(s) during program playback.
- To cancel program play, press the STOP button twice during program playback.
USB Player
The Trinity supports USB music playback in MP3 and WMA formats.
- Press Mode button and select USB mode.
- Insert USB memory stick into the USB socket on the side of the Trinity. Not the USB charging port.
- The Display will say Reading and display Folder and track numbers.
- Example:
- F1/O showing on display meaning Folder 1 has 10 tracks.
- TI/20 showing on display meaning track 1 is playing with 20 tracks total on USB stick.
- Press and hold down PRESET button to advance to next folder.
Note: This only works if you have folders made.
Bluetooth Wireless Audio
To pair your device via BT Wireless Audio for the first time:
- Press the MODE button to select BT Wireless Audio mode
- After a few seconds the screen will then say “BT SEARCHING” and will automatically enter pairing mode.
- On your BT Wireless Audio Device do a search and once available please select “Azatom Trinity D3”.
- After 5-20 seconds the screen will say “Connected”.
- You are ready to start streaming via BT Wireless Audio. Play any sound on your BT Wireless Audio device and listen via the speaker. Whenever the BT Wireless Audio Mode is selected, the radio will automat- ically go into pairing mode.
FM Stereo / Mono
If a station being received is weak some hiss may be audible (especially when listening using earphones).
- Press the MENU button and turn the dial to choose “Audio Setting”, press ENTER to enter this function.
- Turn the dial to select “Forced mono”. Press the ENTER to select “Forced mono”.
Factory reset
- Press MENU to enter the menu.
- Turn the dial to choose “System”. Press ENTER to confirm.
- Turn to dial to find “Factory Reset”. Press ENTER to confirm.
- If you wish to perform the reset operation, turn the dial to highlight “YES”. Press ENTER to confirm.
- A full reset of your radio will be performed, and All presets and station lists will be erased.
- After a system reset an automatic scan of the DAB band will be performed.
Earphones (NOT INCLUDED)
- Plug the earphones into the Earphone socket on the radio.
- Check that the Volume level is not too loud before placing the earpieces into your ears.
Please note: The speakers will be muted once you plug your earphones into the headphone port. Remember to pull out the headphone cable from the port to unmute the speakers.
