  • The manufacturer reserves the right to make minor changes to product design and technical specifications without prior notice unless these changes significantly affect the performance and safety of the products. The parts described / illustrated in the pages of the manual that you hold in your hands may also concern other models of the manufacturer’s product line with similar features and may not be included in the product you just acquired.
  • To ensure the safety and reliability of the product and the warranty validity, all repair, inspection, repair or replacement work, including maintenance and special adjustments, must only be carried out by technicians of the authorized service department of the manufacturer.
  • Always use the product with the supplied equipment. Operation of the product with non-provided equipment may cause malfunctions or even serious injury or death. The manufacturer and the importer shall not be liable for injuries and damages resulting from the use of non-conforming equipment.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Warning: Read the manual carefully before use. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in tool damage, physical injury and/or damage to property. Store the manual in a safe place for future reference.

Electrical safety

  • Set the earth fitting according to the applied standard.
  • It is dangerous to touch the electrical components and electrode with naked skin.
  • Wear approved gloves and clothing.
  • Make sure you are well insulated from the ground.
  • Make sure you are in a safe and secure position.

Gas may be harmful to health

  • Do not inhale the gas.
  • When arc welding, an air extractor should be used to prevent the inhaling of gas.

Arc radiation: Harmful to eyes and can burn skin

  • Use suitable helmet and wear protective garments to protect eye and body.
  • Use suitable protective equipment or curtain to protect any on-lookers and warn all onlookers about the possible risk to their eyes.

Fire

  • Welding sparks may cause fire, make sure the welding area is fire safe.

Noise: Prolonged exposure to high noise levels causes hearing damage

  • Wear hearing protection or use others means to protect your hearing.
  • Warn others in the vicinity that noise may be harmful to their hearing.

Malfunction: Seek professional assistance

  • If troubles arise during installation and operation, contact the supplier for assistance.
  • If you fail to fully understand this manual, contact the supplier for assistance.

Caution: An additional isolator switch is recommended when using the machine.

NOTES AND PREVENTIVE MEASURES

Environment

  • The machine can perform in environments where conditions are dry with a maximum humidity level of 90%.
  • Ambient temperature is between 10 degrees to 40 degrees centigrade.
  • Avoid welding in bright sunshine or wet conditions.
  • Do not use the machine in an environment where there is conductive dust or corrosive gas.
  • Avoid gas welding in an environment with strong air flow.

Health and safety

  • The welding machine is equipped with a circuit that is protected from overvoltage, overcurrent and overheat.
  • In case the voltage, output current and temperature of the machine exceed the rated standard, the welding machine will stop working automatically. Since that will cause damage to the welding machine, the user must pay attention to the following.
  1. The working area must be adequately ventilated
    • The welding machine generates high currents during operation, and natural wind will not satisfy the unit’s cooling demands.
    • It may be necessary to cool the machine with an additional fan.
    • Make sure that the intake is not blocked or covered.

  2. Do not overload the machine
    • The operator should remember to closely observe the maximum duty current.
    • Continuous welding current is not to exceed the maximum duty cycle current.
    • Overload current will damage the machine.

  3. Protect the machine from overvoltage
    • Power voltage can be found in the technical data.
    • Automatic compensation circuit of voltage will ensure that the welding current is kept within the allowable range.
    • If the power voltage exceeds the rated voltage of the machine, the components of the unit will be damaged.
    • The grounding connector at the rear of the machine should be grounded via a suitable cable in order to prevent static electricity.
    • If welding time exceeds the maximum duty cycle and the machine overheats, the welding machine will stop working and the indicator light will turn red.
Do not unplug the machine as the fan will assist in cooling the machine. When the indicator light turns off, and the temperature goes down to the standard range, the machine will be ready for use again.

INSTALLATION

Pre-installation checks

  • The welding equipment is equipped with a power voltage compensation set. When the power voltage changes between ±15% of rated voltage, it still works normally.
  • When using a long cable, make sure it has a big section in order to minimize voltage reduction. If the cable is too long, it will affect arcing performance and other system functions, so make sure to use the suggested cable length.
  • Make sure the intake of the machine is not covered or blocked to prevent the malfunction of the cooling system.
  • Use an earth cable with a section no less than 6 mm2 to connect the housing and earth. Connect the back of the machine to the earth set, or make sure that the earth end of the power switch reaches the earth. Both ways can be used for better security.

Installation steps

  1. Ensure that the cable, holder and fastening plug have been connected to ground. Insert the fastening plug into the “-” polarity socket and fasten it clockwise.
  2. Attach cable to “+” polarity on the front panel, fasten it clockwise, this cable then clamps to the workpiece.
  3. Be aware of the connecting polarity correctly. This machine has two connections: a positive and a negative connection.
    – Positive connection: holder connects with “-” polarity, while workpiece is connected to “+” polarity.
    – Negative connection: workpiece to “-” polarity, holder to “+” polarity.
    • Choose the suitable connection for the task at hand. If the connection is unsuitable it will cause unstable arc, more spatters and conglutination. If such issues occur, change the polarity.
    • Ensure that the power supply is of the correct voltage for this machine.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Switch on the device. The screen will display the current and the ventilator will commence operation.
  2. Adjust the welding current and arc-strike according to requirements.

WELDING TIPS

  • Fittings, welding materials, environmental factors and supply voltage may affect the welding quality. It is important to maintain a good welding environment.
  1. Arcing-striking is difficult and easy to pause
    • Ensure that the electrode is of good quality and not damaged.
    • If the electrode is not dry, it will cause unstable arc with reduced weld quality.
    • If a long extension cable is used, the output voltage and weld quality will be reduced.

  2. Output current does not reach rated value
    • When supplied voltage is lower than the rated, the maximum output current will be lower than the rated.

  3. Current is not stabilizing during operation
    • The voltage rating of the electric input cable is insufficient.
    • There is harmful interference from electric wires or other equipment in close proximity

  4. Too much spatter
    • The current is too high and/or rod’s diameter is too small.
    • Output terminal polarity connection is incorrect. Switch polarity. The rod holder should be connected to negative polarity and the workpiece should be connected to positive polarity.

MAINTENANCE

Warning: Before any maintenance work on the device, power must be turned off and the power plug must be removed from the socket.

  • Remove dust with dry and clean compressed air regularly. Pressure of compressed air must not be too high so as to not damage components.
  • Check the internal circuit of the machine regularly and ensure that the cables are well connected and all connectors are connected tightly (especially insert connectors and components).
  • Avoid water and steam entering the machine. If the unit comes into contact with water, do not use it.
  • If the welding machine is not to be operated for a long period, it must be stored in a dry, clean place.

ENVIRONMENTAL DISPOSAL

In order to avoid damages on transportation, the tool has to be delivered in solid packaging. Packaging as well as the unit and accessories are made of
recyclable materials and can be disposed accordingly. The tool’s plastics components are marked according to their material, which makes it possible to remove environmental friendly and differentiated because of available collection facilities.

Only for EU countries

Do not dispose of electric tools together with household waste material!

In observance of European Directive 2002/96/EC on waste electrical and electronic equipment and its implementation in accordance with national law, electric tools that have reached the end of their life must be collected separately and returned to an environmentally compatible recycling facility.
