CAUTION: BEFORE USING THE POWER TOOL READ THIS MANUAL CAREFULLY AND KEEP IT FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.

DETAILED SAFETY REGULATIONS

  • During operation hold the tool firmly in closed hand.
  • Before switching the tool on make sure it does not touch processed material.
  • Before cutting floor, wall or other surface make sure the cut area is free from gas or electric installation. Cutting a live wire may cause electric shock and cutting gas pipe may cause explosion.
  • Do not touch moving parts of the tool.
  • Do not put the tool aside before it stops completely.
  • Hold the tool firmly in your hand before switching it on.
  • Do not touch blade and processed material just after the work has been finished, these pieces may be very hot and may cause burns.
  • To replace blade or sanding paper, first switch the tool off with the switch and wait until it stops working, then disconnect the tool from mains socket.
  • Prior to operation check if there is enough space under processed material to avoid table or floor damage with the blade.
  • Use anti-dust mask. Dust produced during operation is harmful to health.
  • Do not eat, drink or smoke in a room, where paint with lead compounds is removed with this tool. There should be no bystanders in the room. Contact with or inhalation of dusts with lead compounds may be harmful to health.
  • Before sanding connect dust extraction system to the tool.
  • The tool is not designed for wet operation.
  • Keep the power cord away from moving parts of the tool at all times.
  • When you see unusual behaviour of the tool, smoke or hear strange noises, immediately switch off the tool and remove the plug from mains socket.
  • To ensure proper cooling during tool operation keep the ventilation holes unobstructed.

CAUTION! This device is designed to operate indoors.
The design is assumed to be safe, protection measures and additional safety systems are used, nevertheless there is always a small risk of injuries at work.

CONSTRUCTION AND USE
Multi purpose tool is driven by single-phase motor whose rotation is changed to oscillations. Various working tools available for the tool allows for use in various types of tasks. This type of power tool is widelyused for: cutting wood, wood-based materials, plastics,  non-ferrous metals and joining parts (nails, bolts etc.). It can also be used to process soft ceramic tiles, sanding and dry scraping small surfaces. Possibility of processing abovementioned materials in hardly accessible places and close to edges is an advantage of
the tool. Range of use covers the following tasks: small model making, locksmith, woodworking and any work from the scope of individual, amateur activities (tinkering). Use the power tool according to the manufacturer’s instructions only. Use the power tool only with original equipment.

  2. Sanding paper (80#) 5 pcs
  3. Dust extraction add-on with adaptor + clamp – 1 set
  4. Hexagonal key  – 1 pce

PREPARATION FOR OPERATION

SELECTION OF WORKING TOOL
Below table presents examples of use for various working tools.

INSTALLATION AND REPLACEMENT OF SANDING PAPER
Sanding pad is equipped with hook-and-loop attachment system for quick and easy replacement of sanding paper. Choose sanding paper with appropriate gradation depending on the processed materialand desired level of material removal. All types of sanding  paper, abrasive cloths and polishing felt are allowed.

Use only appropriate sanding paper with holes (perforated).

  • Put the sanding paper close to the sanding pad (1).
  • Place the sanding paper so its holes (a) match with the holes on the sanding pad (1).
  • Press the sanding paper against the sanding pad (1).
  • Make sure that the holes on the sanding paper and sanding pad fully match; it ensures optimal conditions for dust extraction.
  • To remove sanding paper, lift edge of it on one side and pull (fig. A).

INSTALLATION OF WORKING TOOLS

  • Remove working tool if already installed.
  • Use hexagonal key to unscrew the fixing screw (6), remove washer and remove the working tool.
  • Place working tool in the tool holder, make sure to close latch joint of the tool and tool holder.
  • You can place working tools onto the tool holder in any latching position (fig. B) to allow for operation most comfortable and safe for the user.
  • Working tool should be installed with bend pointing down.
  • Place washer and tighten the screw (6) to install working tool.

Check that the tool is installed properly. Improperly or inaccurately installed working tools can slip during operation and cause risk for the user.

DUST EXTRACTION
Dust of some materials may be hazardous to health, like paint coatings with lead additives, some types of wood e.g. oak or beech or materials with asbestos. Therefore, we recommend use of external dust extraction systems, good workplace ventilation and use of dust-mask with particle filter.
The tool is equipped with dust extraction add-on, which should be connected to external dust extractor after installation, e.g. vacuum cleaner designed for the type of produced dust.

  • Remove working tool if already installed.
  • Install dust extraction add-on (5) and fix with clamp (4).
  • Connect suction hose, e.g. vacuum cleaner to the adaptor (3) of the dust extraction add-on (5).
  • Install working tool in the tool holder.

OPERATION / SETTINGS

SWITCHING ON / SWITCHING OFF
The mains voltage must match the voltage on the label of the tool.
Switching on – slide the switch (2) forward to position I (fig. C). Switching off – slide the switch (2) backward to position O.
Do not cover holes for motor ventilation in the tool body.

PRINCIPLES OF OPERATION
Oscillation frequency 20 000 pm at 2.8° angle allows to work precisely in small areas and corners with thepower tool.

SAWING AND CUTTING

  • Use only undamaged working tools in good technical condition.
  • When sawing or cutting wood, fibre board, wood-based materials etc. make sure they do not contain foreign objects like nails, bolts etc before starting the task. Remove foreign objects or use proper blade for removal. You can make plunge cuts only in soft materials like wood, gypsum boards and alike.
  • Cutting ceramic tiles causes faster wear of working tool.

SANDING

  • Working efficiency in surface sanding depends mainly on type and quality of sanding paper and pressure applied for processing. Overpressure does not make sanding more efficient, it only causes faster wear of sanding paper and may cause overheating of the power tool. Apply moderate and uniform pressure.
  • You can use tip or edge of the sanding pad to sand corners or edges in hardly accessible places.
  • Proceed with sanding tasks only with dust extraction system connected. Do not use paper previously used for metal polishing for processing material of other type.

OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE

Unplug the power cord from mains socket before commencing any activities related to installation, adjustment, repair or maintenance.

  • Always keep the tool clean.
  • Do not use water or any other liquid for cleaning.
  • Use a brush or a dry piece of cloth to clean the power tool.
  • Clean working tools with a wire brush.
  • Clean ventilation holes regularly to prevent motor overheating.
  • In case of excessive commutator sparking, have the technical condition of carbon brushes of the motor checked by a qualified person.
  • Store the tool in a dry place, beyond reach of children.

REPLACEMENT OF CARBON BRUSHES

  • Replace immediately worn out (shorter than 5 mm), burnt or cracked motor carbon brushes. Always replace both carbon brushes at a time.
  • Entrust replacement of carbon brushes only to a qualified person. Only original parts should be used.
  • All defects should be repaired by service workshop authorized by the manufacturer.
