USAGE

The Catit® PIXITM Smart Feeder provides your cat with timely and precisely- portioned meals, even when you’re not at home. Easily schedule your cat’s feeding times and custom meal sizes in the mobile app, or dispense food instantly at the press of a button! You don’t have to worry about your cat going hungry ever again, with the app’s realtime status overview, optional notifications and ability to share with friends and family. The feeder can be used with dry food of up to 9mm (0.4in) in diameter. It should be noted that the food pellets’ size and density can influence the food reservoir’s maximum capacity and size of the distributed portions.
Immediately after filling the reservoir, we recommend dispensing a few portions manually to make sure that the food pellets have travelled all the way down into the reservoir. Otherwise there may be a deviation in the first couple of portions.
It is recommended to insert batteries (4x C/LR14) to provide power to the feeder in case of a network power failure or blackout. On average, 4 backup batteries can provide approximately 58 hours of power to the feeder. Rechargeable batteries can be used, though the appliance will not charge the batteries.

There are two ways for the PIXITM Smart Feeder to connect to your Wi-Fi / Wireless router (Press the button at the front of the Feeder for 5 seconds to switch between Smartlink and AP modes):
  • Smartlink mode (rapidly blinking LED): If your smartphone is connected to Wi-Fi, the app will retrieve and broadcast the router’s Wi-Fi info (SSID and password) in an encrypted way.The PIXITM Smart Feeder will decrypt this and connect to the router directly.
  • AP mode (slow blinking LED): Select the PIXITM Smart Feeder’s signal from your mobile phone’s Wi-Fi / WLAN list. Once the connection is established, the app can connect to the PIXITM Smart Feeder using your wireless router info (SSID and password).
  • With the mobile app, the following features can be controlled remotely (check if you have the latest app version installed):
  • Real-time status overview: See when the next scheduled meal will be and whether or not the feeder contains enough food (more than 10% of full capacity) at present time.
  • Dispense food: Instantly dispense food (customisable meal size). It’s also possible to dispense food by pressing the button at the front of the feeder. This button function can be disabled using the app.
  • Customise meal size: By default, the feeder will dispense 1 portion of approx. 5 grams of food per feeding. The meal size can be increased to up to 12 portions, which amounts to approx. 60 grams total per feeding.
  • Feeding plan: Schedule your cat’s feeding times in a cycle of 7 days, which will be repeated endlessly unless deactivated. Program up to 12 meals per day and select on which days to activate this plan.
  • Food level / obstruction alerts: Notifications will appear in the app when the food level in the reservoir is below 10% of total capacity, or in case the feeder is jammed.
  • Audio: The feeder can play a beeping sound each time food is dispensed. This option is turned off by default, but can be turned on in the app.
  • (Shared) Connection: It’s possible to connect multiple Pixi Smart Feeders to your account and give each of them a unique name. You can also share the device with other accounts (e.g. family, cat sitter) so they can control and monitor it for you.
