INTRODUCTION

Store a variety of tools, equipment and household items with this galvanized steel and MDF shelving unit. Each of the 5 shelves is adjustable by up to 1-/18 in. and capable of holding 385 Ib.

WORK AREA

  1. Operate in a safe work environment. Keep your work area clean, well-lit and free of distractions. Place lights so you are not working in a shadow.
  2. Keep anyone not wearing the appropriate safety equipment away from the work area.
  3. Store unused tools properly ina safe and dry location to prevent rust or damage. Lock tools away and keep out of the reach of children.
  4. Place this shelving unit only on a surface that is flat, level and capable of handling the unit and its full weight capacity.
  5. Do not place in areas of high humidity in order to avoid damage to the shelving board.

PERSONAL SAFETY

WARNING! Wear personal protective equipment approved by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) or American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

  1. Always wear impact safety goggles that provide front and side protection for the eyes. Eye protection equipment should comply with CSA Z94.3-07 or ANSI Z87.1 standards based on the type of work performed.
  2. Wear protective clothing designed for the work environment and tool.
  3. Non-skid footwear is recommended to maintain footing and balance in the work environment.
  4. Wear steel toe footwear or steel toe caps to prevent a foot injury from falling objects.

PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS
Control the tool, personal movement and the work environment to avoid personal injury or damage to tool.

  1. Do not operate any tool when tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medications.
  2. Avoid wearing clothes or jewelry that can become entangled with the moving parts of a tool. Keep long hair covered or bound.
  3. Do not overreach when operating a tool. Proper footing and balance enables better control in unexpected situations.

  3. Do not exceed the overall maximum load capacity. The weight rating is based on an evenly distributed load.

  5. Centre load the shelves where possible. Uneven distribution of weight could lead to tipping and damage.
  6. Do not climb or sit on the shelving unit.
  7. It is recommended that this shelving unit be anchored to a wall after assembly in order to ensure full stability and safety.

UNPACKING

WARNING! Do not operate the tool if any part is missing. Replace the missing part before operating. Failure to do so could result in a malfunction and personal injury.
Remove the parts and accessories from the packaging and inspect for damage.
Make sure that all items in the Identification Key are included.

ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION

Letter references in parenthesis (A) refer to the included Identification Key.

  1. Take 2 of the vertical supports (B) and connect them at the lowest possible position with 1 of the short shelf braces (D) (Fig. 1).

  2. Install a second short shelf brace at the desired position (Fig. 1).

  3. Place 4 of the feet (G) on the bottom of the 4 vertical supports (Fig. 2).

  5. Insert a corner bracket above the second short shelf brace position on each of the 4 vertical supports (Fig. 5).POWER FIST 9096884 5 Shelf Steel Shelving Unit - Key 5 a. Arubber hammer or mallet is recommended for this step to avoid denting or other damage.

  6. Attach the remaining long and short shelf braces at the desired positions.

  7. Locate the middle shelf brackets (E) and attach them across the middle of each set of long shelf braces (Fig. 6).
    a. Make sure the attachment is proper and secure (Fig. 7).

  8. Place the MDF shelves onto the completed shelving unit (Fig. 8)

  9. Place the remaining 4 feet on the top of the vertical supports.

  10. Ensure that all connections are proper and secure.

  11. Carefully move the shelving unit to the desired location.

  12. If possible, affix the shelving unit to a wall using appropriate hardware (not included).

GARE & MAINTENANCE

  1. Maintain the tool with care. A tool in good condition is efficient, easier to control and will have fewer problems.
  2. Inspect the tool components periodically. Repair or replace damaged or worn components. Only use identical replacement parts when servicing.
  3. Only use accessories intended for use with this tool.
  4. Maintain the tool’s labels and name plates. These carry important information.
    If unreadable or missing, contact Princess Auto Ltd. for replacements.

WARNING! Only qualified service personnel should repair the tool. An improperly repaired tool may present a hazard to the user and/or others.
DISPOSAL
Recycle a tool damaged beyond repair at the appropriate facility.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Visit a Princess Auto Ltd. location for a solution if the tool does not function properly or parts are missing. If unable to do so, have a qualified technician  service the tool.
