INTRODUCTION

The TURBO MAX 12V EPC is a high-efficiency portable electric inflator, which stands for reliability and functionality. The TURBO MAX is equipped with two powerful DC motors that drive two turbines connected in series, thus allowing any object to be inflated to a pressure between 100 and 250 mbar. The maximum pressure setting must be 250 mbar. The control pressure setting is +/- 30 mbar (the pump starts inflating when the pressure drops to 220 mbar and starts deflating when the pressure reaches 280 mbar). The inflator is equipped with LED indicators checking pump status during operation. The inflator starts when the ON button is pressed and automatically stops when the set pressure is reached. The inflator stops when the user presses the OFF button.

RECOMMENDED USES

  • Large inflatable objects (rubber dinghies/tents/rafts).

GENERAL SAFETY RULES

  1. ALWAYS TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THE WORKING ENVIRONMENT.
    • Do not expose the inflator to rain. Do not use in the presence of flammable liquids or gases.
  2. AVOID UNINTENTIONAL STARTING.
    • Do not start the inflator with the inlet in contact with dust or water.
  3. PAY ATTENTION.
    • Pay attention to what you are doing. Use common sense.
  4. CHECK THAT THERE ARE NO DAMAGED PARTS.
    • Before using the inflator, carefully check its outer sides and components.
  5. DO NOT OPERATE portable inflators near flammable liquids or in gaseous or explosive atmospheres. The inflator motors produce sparks that can release fumes.
  6. DO NOT INHALE!
    • The compressed air coming from the inflator is not clean. Never inhale air from your inflator.
  7. WARNING:  RISK OF EXPLOSION.
    • Inflate the inflatable unit only complying with the manufacturer’s recommendations. Exceeding the pressure rating could cause the inflator to explode, resulting in personal injury.
  8. NEVER LEAVE THE DEVICE UNATTENDED.
    • Overinflation could result in serious injury and property damage.
  9. WARNING:  RISK OF UNSAFE OPERATION.
    • Do not modify or attempt to repair the unit. Do not drill into or make any modifications to the inflator or its accessories. Any modification to the product will void its warranty.
  10. Never carry the inflator by the flexible hose or power cable.

LED INDICATORS

  • The inflator is equipped with two LED indicators (A and B) that allow the battery status and the pump temperature to be checked.
  • LED A indicates battery charging status
  • LED B indicates the operating errors that have stopped inflator operating cycle (refer to paragraph Inflator and Battery Status Monitoring).

USE AND OPERATION

  1. The TURBOMAX 12V EPC is a unit capable of inflating, maintaining a preset pressure value and deflating a large inflatable item. The unit must always be connected to the inflatable item
  2. The unit is supplied with a factory pressure. If it is necessary to change this setting, carefully follow the instructions in this manual. In case of doubts, contact Scoprega.

PREPARATION

  1. Make sure that the main switch of the TURBOMAX 12V EPC is set to OFF.
  2. Connect the inflation hose to the TURBOMAX 12V EPC depending on the operation to be carried out: for inflation, connect to the OUT outlet, for deflation, connect to the IN outlet and to the main valve of the inflatable item, using the most suitable adapter.
  3. Insert the adapter into the valve of the object to be inflated/deflated.

FOR INFLATING

  1. Connect to a power source.
  2. Press the green ON button (point 1, fig)
  3. The inflator starts inflating at the preset pressure (250 bar).

WARNING

  • The maximum settable pressure is 250mbar.

FOR DEFLATING

  1. Connect the hose to the IN outlet
  2. Connect to a power source.
  3. Press the green ON button (point 1, fig)
  4. The inflator starts deflation.
    • IMPORTANT: the inflator will not stop automatically. It is necessary to press the green ON button again to stop it.

WARNING: DEFLATION DOES NOT STOP AUTOMATICALLY. SWITCH OFF THE INFLATOR ONCE THE INFLATABLE UNIT IS COMPLETELY EMPTIED.

HOW TO CHANGE THE PRESSURE SETTINGS

  1. CONNECT THE POWER CABLE TO THE SOCKET.
  2. TURN ON THE MAIN GREEN SWITCH
  3. The inflator will start inflating at the preset pressure.
  4. Turn off the inflator by pressing the AUTOCYCLE ON/OFF button on the display

FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW TO ADJUST THE PRESSURE

  • PRESS MODE to select the unit of measurement (mbar, psi, ka, bar): press the MODE button multiple times, until you find the desired unit.
  • Changing the inflation pressure using the SET+/SET- buttons: when a button is pressed for 2 seconds, the display starts blinking and the pressure can be adjusted by pressing the SET+/SET- buttons. After 2 seconds, the display stops blinking and the pressure is memorised. The pressure can be set between 100 and 250 mbar.
  • Changing the filling pressure: when the MIN button is pressed for 3 seconds, the display starts blinking. The value may be changed by using SET+ and SET-. After 2 seconds, the display stops blinking and the value is memorised. The filling pressure may be adjusted from 30 to 70 mbar with respect to the operating pressure. Example: if you wish to reach an inflation pressure of 250 mbar and the refilling value is set to 50 mbar, when the pressure of the inflatable item reaches 200 mbar, the inflator switches back on and brings the pressure of the inflatable item to 250 mbar.
  • Changing the deflation pressure: when the MAX button is pressed for 3 seconds, the display starts blinking. The value may be changed by using SET+ and SET-. After 2 seconds, the display stops blinking and the value is memorised. The deflation pressure may be adjusted from 30 to 70 mbar with respect to the operating pressure.
    • Example: if you wish to reach an inflation pressure of 250 mbar and the deflation value is set to 50 mbar, when the item reaches 300 mbar, the inflator opens the deflation valve until it reaches 250 mbar.
  • After the changes press AUTO CYCLE. The 2 red LEDs on the display light up after 2 seconds. The green LED on the pump stops flashing and returns steady ON, indicating that the inflator will start inflating/deflating and refilling automatically. With the automatic cycle activated, the unit automatically checks the pressure of the inflatable item.
