Product Usage Instructions

To slide out the host on the rails, depress both slide rail locks at the same time and use the handles to pull the host along the rack rails. The Thunderbolt 3 ports are reserved for future use. To power on the unit, press the power button once. To power off, press and hold the power button until the power LED goes out. To install the included rack rails, scan the QR code or visit the Apple Support website to review the article on how to install the host into a rack. To access the components, use the latches on both sides to remove the component access cover. For network requirements, Savant recommends using commercial-grade network equipment throughout the network to ensure reliable communication between devices. Connect all Savant devices to the same LAN or subnet as the host and avoid implementing any type of traffic or packet shaping in the network topology for the Savant devices as this may interfere with performance. It is important to note that using the host Wi-Fi connection may result in control or connectivity issues. The SVR-7100S has two Ethernet ports, but only the right port is supported for Savant configuration, while the left port is blocked to avoid confusion. The unit also has two Thunderbolt 3 ports and two USB 3.0 Type-A ports reserved for future use. For network configuration, Savant recommends using DHCP reservations within the router to ensure that the IP address will not change due to a power outage. Refer to the router documentation to configure the DHCP reservation.

Network Requirements

Savant requires the use of commercial-grade network equipment throughout the network to ensure the reliability of communication between devices. Connect all Savant devices to the same local area network (LAN) or subnet as the host. Savant recommends not implementing any type of traffic or packet shaping in your network topology for the Savant devices as this may interfere with the performance
IMPORTANT! Use of the Host Wi-Fi connection may result in control or connectivity issues.

Network Configuration
To ensure that the IP Address will not change due to a power outage, Savant recommends using DHCP reservation within the router. By using this method, static IP Addresses for all devices can be managed from a single UI, avoiding the need to access devices individually. Setting DHCP reservations varies from router to router. Refer to the documentation for the router to configure the DHCP reservation.

Network Changes
After connecting to a new network, changing routers, or if the IP Address range is changed in the current router, Savant recommends the following steps. This will reset any IP connection and ensure that the host is communicating with the network correctly.
Hot Plug the Ethernet (LAN) Connection

  1. Disconnect the Ethernet (LAN) connection from the host.
  2. Wait 15 seconds and then reconnect.
