Product Information: Wireless Charging Handgrip HG-DC1
The Leica Wireless Charging Handgrip HG-DC1 is an accessory that allows inductive charging of the rechargeable battery of your camera (in conjunction with a compatible charging station). It has a double-insulated design and is rated at 9.0 V DC/1.1 A. The handgrip is designed to fit onto the bottom of your camera and has a tripod thread for attaching it to a tripod, as well as a finger loop attachment for added stability.
Product Usage Instructions
Attaching the Handgrip

Switch off the camera and any attached flash unit.

Attach the handgrip to the bottom of the camera in such a way
that the locking screw extends slightly into the tripod thread. -
Turn the locking toggle in a clockwise direction and tighten it slightly.
Wireless Charging of the Camera
- Switch off the camera and any attached flash unit.
- Position the camera with the handgrip attached on the charging station.
Note: Take note of the markings on the underside of the handgrip and ensure that you use a compatible charging station for wireless charging.

provided in the user manual. It is important to handle the product with care
to avoid injury or damage to property. Do not modify or attempt to repair the
product yourself, and keep it away from water and extreme temperatures.

SAFETY REMARKS
- The battery must be removed from the camera or charger and must be replaced immediately in case of a strange smell, discoloration, deformation, overheating or leakage. Continued use of the battery may result in overheating, which can cause fire and/or explosion!
- Keep the battery away from sources of heat in case of leakage or if you smell burning. Leaked fluid can catch fire!
- The use of other chargers not approved by Leica Camera AG can cause damage to the batteries – and in extreme cases – cause serious or life-threatening injuries.
- Keep batteries out of the reach of children. Batteries can cause suffocation when swallowed.
- Always keep the handgrip contacts clean, and never short-circuit them.
FIRST AID
- Battery fluid may cause blindness if it comes into contact with the eyes. Rinse the eyes thoroughly with clean water immediately. Avoid rubbing. Seek medical attention immediately.
- Leaked battery fluid poses an injury hazard when it comes in contact with clothing or skin. Rinse the affected areas thoroughly with clean water.
GENERAL INFORMATION

New batteries must be activated by charging in the charger before first use.

Battery and charger heat up during the charging process. That is normal and not a malfunction. Rechargeable lithium-ion batteries generate power by way of internal chemical reactions. These reactions are influenced by ambient temperature and humidity. Do not expose the battery to extreme temperatures (high or low) for extended periods of time (e.g. in a parked car in the summer or winter) to ensure a maximum service life.

Always remove the battery if the camera will not be used for an extended period of time. Make sure to switch the camera off via the main switch before removing the battery. Leaving the battery in the camera will result in a deep discharge after a few weeks. Voltage levels will decrease significantly, as the camera uses a low idle current to maintain settings.
Dispose of damaged batteries in accordance with the relevant regulations at an approved collection point for proper recycling. -
The date of manufacture can be found on the battery. The date format is week/year.

Using the charger in the vicinity of broadcasting receivers may interfere with reception. Ensure a distance of at least 1m between the charger and the receiver.

When the charger is in use, it may emit a buzzing sound – that is normal and not a malfunction.

APPLICATION
The camera is powered by a lithium-ion battery. This accessory allows
inductive charging of the rechargeable battery (in conjunction with a
compatible charging station). Take note of the markings on the underside of
the handgrip!
ATTACHING THE HANDGRIP
- Switch off the camera and any attached flash unit
- Attach the handgrip in such a way that the locking screw extends slightly into the tripod thread on the bottom of the camera
- Turn the locking toggle in clockwise direction and tighten it slightly
WIRELESS CHARGING OF THE CAMERA
- Switch off the camera and any attached flash unit
- Position the camera with the handgrip attached on the charging station
- Flashing of the status LED on the camera (green, 2 s interval) signifies active charging.
Notes
- Only charging stations that are approved for the respective country may be used. Only the frequencies that are permitted in the respective country may be used.
- The charging process will only initiate when the camera is correctly positioned on the charging station.
- Only inductive charging stations with a min. 10 W output can be used.
- Make sure to unplug any attached HDMI and USB cables from the camera before charging.
