The interface is connected via a connection plug on the radio and a video cable on the display. It is estimated 30-60 minutes of work to connect the interface. No programming required.
Step 1. Remove both panels from the center console (click off)
Unclip the short panels on both sides of the center console. Use removal
tools. The panels are clicked.
Unscrew both long panels (two screws on each side) and gently stretch the panel from the narrow side and work towards the dashboard. Place the panels in a safe place. If necessary, use removal tools.
Step 2. Detach the center console (unscrew and unclip)
Remove the screw on the left side of the center console at the level of the
gear lever. Pull the cover down from the gear knob and turn the knob off.
Place a towel over the pin to protect other parts
Pull up the top of the center console from the rear and pull it back as far as possible. If necessary, disconnect the plugs to make more space.
Step 3. Loosen the radio (screws)
Remove the four 10 mm bolts from the radio and pull it forward to reach the
plugs.
Step 4. Detach the air conditioning control panel
Unplug the air conditioning control panel and unplug the plug.
Step 5. Remove the display (screws)
Flip up the screen cover (start on the right). If necessary, use removal
tools. Remove the two 10 mm nuts on the front. Pull the display up and place
it in such a way that it cannot be damaged.
Step 6. Connect the plugs to radio and display
Pull the radio forward and connect the large and small plug of the interface.
Press the clip of the grey part to release the large plug (see image).
Transfer the two plugs that are released to the sockets.
Swap the blue video plug of the display for the new plug and connect the old plug to the new socket. Plug the video cable straight down at the indicated position to get into the free space of the radio.
Step 7. Connect the interface
Connect the antenna, connection plug, video plug , microphone plug and any
USBextension cable to the interface.
Step 8. Test the system
Connect (temporarily) the power button. Choose MEDIA to switch from the radio
to the interface. Remove and forget the existing bluetooth connection to the
car. Connect the phone to the bluetooth signal from the interface and turn on
WIFI. Test the system with respect to graphics, sound, switching between radio
and interface and backward. In case the screen systematically flashes every
20-25 seconds, the white wire should be cut at the indicated position (red
arrow, second position top of plug). (This does not affect the original
operation of the system)
Step 9. Mount the interface
In case there is no space under or behind the radio, mount the interface
behind the upholstery at the location of the left foot of the fellow
passenger.
Step 10. Build the system
Reconnect all components in reverse order. The system uses the existing
microphone.
**Step 1 1. Have fun!
