Rover Evoque 2012-2014 with Touchscreen

The Carplay Android Auto Interface is a device that allows you
to connect your smartphone to your Range Rover Evoque’s
touchscreen. It enables you to access various features of your
phone, including music, maps, and other apps, through the car’s
display. The interface is connected via a connection plug on the
screen and the radio. It is estimated that it takes about 30-45
minutes of work to connect the interface. No programming is
necessary.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Disconnect the battery: To be on the safe side, disconnect the
    battery first. In that case, make sure that the locks no longer
    work!

  2. Remove side panels (click off): Click the left and right side
    panel of the front panel with a plastic spatula.

  3. Detach the instrument panel cover (click off): Pull the
    handlebar forward and click the lower part of the instrument panel
    cover to create space to screw. Clicking away is sufficient,
    removing the panel is not necessary.

  4. Remove short part of the front panel (screws): Remove the two
    torx screws (size 30) and click the short front panel off. This is
    necessary to get to 1 transverse screw of the long front
    panel.

  5. Remove narrow plastic parts next to the center console (click
    off): Snap off both narrow plastic parts next to the center
    console. Two torx screws are released (size 30).

  6. Remove long part of the front panel (screws): Remove the six
    torx screws (size 30) and gently unclip the long front panel .
    Unplug the front panel and separate the panel.

  7. Loosen the radio (screws): Unscrew the radio so that it can
    move forward to pass through the cables (no need to disconnect
    plugs). Place the interface under the radio. The CarPlay interface
    comes approximately at the location of the red shaded compartment
    in the center console.

  8. Connect the interface (plug in): Connect the large grey plug to
    the navigation system/radio. Connect the antenna and the white plug
    to the interface.

Step 3. Detach the instrument panel cover (click off) Pull the handlebar forward and click the lower part of the instrumentpanel cover to create space to screw. Step 7. Remove the display (screws) Unscrew the display and connect the video cable (blue) and the power cable (small grey plug). Connect the released plugs to the contrast plugs and run the interface kabel down. The large grey plug comes on the navigation system/radio. Step 8. Remove center console (screws and unlinks) Remove the two torx screws (size 20) on the bottom of the midden console. Then click the center console off. Disconnectthree rectangular plugs on both sides and in the middle (tabs press and pull). Note: the plug in the middle has an extra locking. This (red) lock first pulls out a bit. Set the console aside or rotate it so that you can pull the radio forward a bit.

Step 9. Loosen the radio (screws) Unscrew the radio so that it can move forward to pass through the cables (no need to disconnect plugs). Place the interface under the radio.
The CarPlay interface comes approximately at the location of the red shaded compartment in the center console. Step 10. Connect the interface (plug in) Connect the large grey plug to the navigation system/radio. Connect the antenna and the white plug to the interface.

Step 11. Test the system (operation) Choose AUX as a source for sound in the OEM-system. Remove the existing bluetooth connection with the car. Connect the phone to the bluetooth signal of the interface and put WIFI on. The bluetooth connection will create a WIFI-network and disconnect itself after that. Test the system with regard to graphics, sound, switching between radio and interface and reverse switching. Activate the system via the NAV button. The dip switches are standard at 00010000 (0 = OFF, 1 is ON). In case the display is shifted, try 00000000 or 00001000. After modification, pull out the power plug and put it back in. Step 12. Close the system again (clicks, screws) Screw the display and radio back on and click/screw the panels back into position. Step 13. Enjoy!
