Roth Touchline SL Standard Room Thermostat Product Information

The product is a thermostat that can be used to control the temperature of a heated floor. It comes with a backplate that can be mounted on the wall and the thermostat can be easily slid onto the backplate. The thermostat also has the option to connect a floor sensor (not included) that can be used to set up floor protection or comfort mode. The product is manufactured by ROTH UK Ltd and is available in multiple countries including the UK, Denmark, Norway, and Finland.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Push lightly on the snap lock with a finger or screwdriver (if mounted on the wall) to slide the backplate of the thermostat.
  2. Mount the backplate on the wall (screws not included) and slide the thermostat onto the backplate.
  3. If you want to use a floor sensor (not included), push gently on the terminals while inserting the cable into the terminal. The sensor must be placed directly beneath the top floor cover, in the middle between the floor heating pipes.
  4. If you want to use the thermostat as a free-standing device, mount the supplied foot onto the backplate before mounting it again.
  5. Connect all necessary cables to the controller (pump, actuators, and optionally potential free relay) before start-up. Follow the instructions in the controller manual for details.
  6. Do not press any buttons on the front of the thermostat while pushing the pairing button on the rear to pair/register it to a zone (channel).
  7. To operate/set up the floor sensor, refer to the controller manual. Floor sensor operation can be set up as either Floor protection (standard) or Comfort (minimum floor temperature).
  8. When using the floor sensor as floor protection, the sensor will stop heating if the temperature goes above the set maximum temperature. Below this temperature, the room sensor has priority. When using the floor sensor in Comfort mode, the room sensor will have priority between the minimum and maximum settings. Outside this range, the floor sensor has priority.

Roth Touchline® SL Standard room thermostat

Push lightly on the snap lock with a finger or screwdriver (if mounted on the wall) to slide the backplate of the thermostat.

It is possible to connect a door sensor to the thermostat (door sensor not incl.). Push gently on the terminals while you put the cable into the terminal. The sensor must be drawn in a tube and the tip placed directly beneath the top for cover, in the middle between the overheating pipes.

The thermostat can be connected to all Controllers in the Touchline® SL series. Pairing/registering is made the same way on all Controllers using the same buttons. In the pictures the panel of the Touchline® SL Controller, master is shown.

Pairing/registering the thermostat to a zone (channel). All connections must be made to the Controller (pump, actuators, and optionally potential free relay) before start-up. Please see the controller manual for details. Attention! Do not press the buttons on the front of the thermostat whilst pushing the pairing button on the rear (see picture 11).

Once the thermostat is connected to the Zone/Channel, the overview shows: – Temperatures on the thermostat (setpoint 22,0°C, actual 25,0°C), battery (99%), signal strength (100% – must be at least 10%) and mode of operation (CON = continuously). For more info on the display, see the controller manual. Repeat registration for other thermostats, by choosing one of the other zones (2 to 8) until a required number of thermostats are connected.
Attention! If a thermostat is paired to the wrong zone, do not delete the thermostat. Pair the thermostat to the correct/new zone and the old pairing will be deleted.

If the thermostat has a door sensor connected, this must also be paired/registered as shown below (picture 21, must be two quick presses). In the overview, you can see both the thermostat (setpoint 22,0°C, actual 25,0°C) and the actual color temperature (21,0°C). Repeat this for all other zones/channels (2 to 8) with a door sensor.

Operation/setting of the door sensor is carried out on the display of the Controller. Floor sensor operation can be set up as either ”Floor protection” (standard) or ”Comfort” (min. Floor temp.).

Set the sensor as ”Floor protection”. Choose operation mode and choose ”Floor protection”.

Set max. door temperature to protect your door. Conm with ”Menu”. Set the sensor as ”Comfort”. Choose operation mode and choose ”Comfort”. Set min. or temperature for your comfort level. Confirm with ”Menu”. Min. temperature is set as described above.

Attention! Using the door sensor as ”Floor protection”, the sensor will stop heating if the temperature goes above the set max. temperature. Below this temperature the room sensor has priority. Using the door sensor in ”Comfort” mode, the room sensor will have priority between min. and max. setting. Outside this min/max setting the door sensor has priority.

  • In sleep mode, the current temperature is displayed. To set/change temperature press < > buttons. Confirm by pressing or waiting 5 seconds.

You can switch between the temperature display and the relative humidity display by briefly pressing the button.

  • You can choose between three modes on the thermostat. After changing the setpoint with</> the actual setting is flashing: “Con” means the setpoint is due constantly.
  • “SH” means that the desired setpoint will be valid for the next S hours, after this the thermostat will return to its normal mode.
  • “OFF” means that it follows the mode preset on the Controller.
  • The chosen mode can also be seen on the Con-trailer display. Changing the mode “Con”, “Sh” and “OFF” is done using the buttons</> when the mode is flashing.  Enables you to view battery levels. Select “Bat”, and the display flashes. Confirm within S sec. after which the battery level is dis- played in percentage %
