INSTALLATION OVERVIEW
Your roller shade comes ready to mount to a vertical surface. If you want your shade to hang from the top (for example, the ceiling), you will need to make a simple change to your Wand Unit Bracket and Idle End Unit Bracket before you install your shade. For wall mount, go to STEP 2.
-
Remove the two screws from both brackets A & B. Turn the Wand unit 90° so the wand eyelet hangs straight down. Now turn the Idle End Unit 90° so the opening is facing away from the window or the surface, then put the screws back in.
-
The bracket-to-bracket distance is the shade width + 2 3⁄4″. Center the calculated width on your opening and mark each side. Make sure to leave at least 2 1 ⁄4″ between the wall or ceiling to allow for the shade to be completely rolled up. Place the outside edge of the brackets on each mark, then mark the holes.
-
Install brackets with screws at the center of the screw holes to ensure enough space to adjust for a snug fit. The Wand Unit Bracket will be on the right side, and the Idle End Unit Bracket should be on the left side. NOTE: The screws included in your hardware kit are for use with wood only. See a store associate for mounting recommendations when attaching your shade to any other material.
-
Insert the Wand Side Plug into the Wand Unit Bracket. Then insert the Idle End Plug into the Idle End Unit Bracket and snap the Idle End Plug securely into place. Attach Wand to Wand Eyelet.
-
IMPORTANT: Once shade is installed, check that it is level. Also ensure that side-to-side movement does not exceed 1/16″. If it does, the brackets are too far apart. See optional step 5b to remove the shade. Next, loosen the screws on the idle side, slide bracket inward, retighten screws, then reinstall shade.
To remove the shade, roll it up completely and use a flathead screwdriver to
press gently upward in the opening on the Idle End Unit Bracket while gently
pulling forward on the left side of the roll to release the shade from the
bracket. Once disengaged, slide the wand side of the roller shade out
-
Optional Bungee Tie Downs have been provided to secure your shade in mild to moderate wind conditions. Install the Receivers approximately 5″ (13 cm) below where the shade will stop to allow for proper tension of Bungee cord. NOTE: Roll up your shade when not in use or before strong winds to prevent damage.
-
Thread the Bungee through the End Cap hole on the shade and feed the ball end back through the loop to make a knot. Attach the Bungees to the Receivers to secure the shade.
