Installation
To install the Touchline SL Controller:
- Switch off the 230V power supply before working on the controller.
- Mount the controller on a flat surface using screws (max diameter 4mm) or DIN rail.
- Connect pump output and boiler/heat supply following the specified guidelines.
- Ensure cables are securely inserted into the rubber relief.
- Replace the glass fuse with the appropriate specifications if needed.
Connecting Extension Modules
To connect extension modules:
- Use the delivered BUS cable to connect the extension module to the master controller.
- Ensure jumper positions are correct in both units.
- Follow the menu instructions on the master controller for proper configuration.
Output Configuration
To configure outputs
- Access the Output Configuration menu on the master controller.
- Assign outputs to specific zones as needed.
- Adjust zone settings to control multiple outputs within a zone.

Q: How do I pair/register a thermostat/sensor to a zone/channel?
A: Follow steps 30 – 38 for pairing/registering. Finish by pushing MENU
button and EXIT to return to the start screen.
Roth Touchline® SL Controller 8 ch, master
WARNING
Risk of fatal electric shock from touching live connections. Before working on
the controller always switch off the 230V power supply and prevent it from
being accidentally switched on.
- Roth Touchline® SL Controller 8 ch, master HVAC no. 7466397058
- The controller must be mounted on a flat surface, max. screwdiameter is 4 mm. Can also be installed using the accompanying DIN rail.
- If required up to 4 actuator can be connected to the same output (32 actuators in total on the controller) Meaning: An output with 2, 3 or 4 terminals can all be connected with up to 4 actuators. Use Roth Touchline® actuator 230V 1 watt, HVAC no. 7466275433. More outputs can be configured to one zone/room using the function “Output configuration” which is described later in the manual.
- 230V pump output, max. load 0,5A. The pump output has integrated pumpstop.
- Boiler/heat supply, potential free relay max. load 1A.
- Make sure to press the cables firmly into the rubber relief with a flat tool that cannot damage the cables.
- Connect to 230V power, Controller is ready for pairing of sensors. Follow the description later in this manual or please see the manaul delivered with thermostat/sensor.

One Roth Touchline® SL 8 ch Controller, master can be connected wireless to up to 3 pcs. Roth Touchline® SL 8 ch Controller, extension. In addition, each controller can be connected to 1 pcs. 4 channel extension with BUS cable, i.e. up to 48 channels in a system.
If there are very large distances between the controllers, you can choose to connect the units using a BUS cable instead. For this setup we refer to the user manual which is online on our website. -
Connect the 4 ch extension module with the delivered BUS cable to the BUS input on the master Controller. Check that the “jumper” is positioned correctly in both units.
Press the MENU button on the master Controller and follow the steps 9 – 16.
For connection of 8 ch extension Controller, please see the manual delivered with this. -
After registering the 4 ch extension module to the Roth Touchline® SL Controller, master this will be shown on the display. After connecting sensors/thermostats it will be possible to see all channels on both the Master and 4 ch Extension module on the Master display. All channels kan be operated from the Roth Touchline® SL Controller, master or via the Roth Touchline® SL app if the master Controller is connected to the internet via a Roth Touchline® SL WiFi module.

It is possible to connect more output (or all) within the same 8 ch controller + a 4 ch extension (total 12 outputs) to one zone/thermostat.
This is done in the menu “Output configuration”. By default output 1 is dedicated to zone 1, output 2 to zone 2 etc. -
Press the MENU button on the master controller and follow the steps 20 – 25. In this example output 2 is moved from zone 2 to zone 1.
Zone 1 will now control both output 1 and output 2. -
The information “Pump on/off will be deactivated in this zone” means that a heat-call on zone 2 no longer will activate the pump.

You can get an overview of the output configuration if you press EXIT from the main screen and choose “Output configuration”. Her you can see that output (OUT) 1 and 2 are connected to zone 1 (Z1). Zone 2 can still be used for controlling one or more wireless Roth radiator actuators.

Above you can see the placement of pairing/registration button on different thermostats/sensors.

Attention! Do not touch the front of thermostats with touchbuttons while pressing the pairing button, it can lead to bad or failing functionality of the touch buttons.

Follow the steps 30 – 38 for pairing/registering the thermostat/sensor to a zone/channel.Finish by pushing MENU button and push EXIT several times until start screen is shown.

If the thermostat has a floor sensor connected, this must also be paired/registered as shown below in step 39 – 46.
