CT-1423 Double Slice Toaster
DEAR CUSTOMER,
Thank You for purchasing a CENTEK brand product. We guarantee flawless
function of this item, provided the guidelines of its operation are observed.
PURPOSE OF THE APPLIANCE: For toasting thin slices of bread.
This appliance is designed for use in domestic and similar applications, in
particular:
– in personnel kitchen zones at stores, offices and industrial facilities;
– at agricultural farms;
– by clients at hotels, motels and other residential facilities;
– in private boarding houses.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
The appliance purchased by You complies with all safety standards applicable
to electric appliances in the Russian Federation.
The following requirements should be strictly observed in order to avoid
situations hazardous for human life and health, as well as premature failures
of the appliance:

Carefully read the present manual prior to operating the appliance.

Retain the present manual, cash voucher and appliance packaging. If lost, the manual cannot be renewed and the warranty on the appliance becomes void. Use the appliance only for its intended purpose.

Do not place the appliance near heat sources, do not expose it to direct sunlight and moisture (do not submerge in water and other liquids). Do not touch the appliance with wet hands.

In case of ingress of moisture or leakage from the appliance, immediately disconnect it from the power supply!

Do not install the appliance on soft, uneven, unstable surfaces. Do not cover the appliance.
-
Always disconnect the appliance from power supply after use and before cleaning.
When disconnecting the appliance from the power socket grab and pull the plug, not the cable. -
Do not let children play with the appliance. Do not leave the appliance unattended.
Ensure that the power cable is located out of reach of children. -
Packaging materials can be potentially hazardous to children and should be stowed away in a specially designated place.

The appliance should not be used by physically, sensory or mentally handicapped persons (including children) or by persons without sufficient experience or knowledge, unless such persons are under supervision, or have been instructed on the use of the appliance, by the persons responsible for their safety.

Regularly check the appliance and its power cable for damage.
Operating a damaged appliance is not allowed. Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourselves, apply to certified technicians. -
Only the use of original spare parts is allowed. Do not use accessories which are not included in the scope of supply.

Ensure that the power supply grid voltage corresponds to the one indicated on the appliance before operating it.

Before turning the appliance on ensure that it is fully and correctly assembled.

Do not pull the power cable if it touches sharp edges, is jammed by any objects or entangled; avoid contact of the power cable with hot surfaces.

In case of damage to the power cable or any other part of the appliance immediately disconnect the appliance from power supply and apply to the Manufacturer’s service centre. In case of unskilled intervention into the appliance or non-observance of the operating requirements listed in the present manual the warranty becomes void.

Connect the appliance only to power grid sockets equipped with earthing contacts, use only two-pole extension cables with 10A rating and an earthing conductor.

Do not use multiple high-power appliances simultaneously – this may lead to malfunctions in residential power supply systems.

Do not use the appliance if:
• the power cord is damaged;
• the appliance has visible damage;
• the appliance has been dropped from height;
• the appliance has been exposed to moisture. -
Ensure the appliance is turned off when not in use!

Do not operate the appliance at temperatures below 0 °С and above 35 °С. If the appliance has been exposed to temperatures below 0 °С for a prolonged time, place it in a heated environment for at least 3 hours before turning it on.

Pull the plug from the power socket if: the appliance does not work correctly (unusual noise, vibration, etc.); before disassembly/reassembly; after each use.
Disconnect the appliance from power supply if You have to leave it unattended for even a short time. -
Do not place toasts containing excessive quantities of sugar, jam and other ingredients in the toaster.

Special instructions for transportation (shipment) and sale: none.

Use the appliance only with the proper connector.

The appliance is not designed to be powered from an external timer or other separate remote control system.

The toasts may catch fire, therefore do not use the toaster near or underneath curtains or other combustible materials!
Should You decide to transfer the appliance to another person, please pass the present manual over along with it.
ATTENTION!
– Electric shock hazard! Never submerge the appliance in water!
– Fire hazard! Avoid all contact of the appliance with flammable liquids and
combustible materials!
– The outer surface of the appliance stays hot after operation.
– Careful: accessible surfaces of the appliance can reach high temperature
during operation. Do not touch the hot surfaces.

SCOPE OF SUPPLY
– Toaster – 1 pc.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS PREPARATIONS FOR USE
Before connecting the appliance to power supply ensure that the power grid
voltage corresponds to that indicated on the appliance.
Remove all packaging materials.
NOTE:
Turn the toaster on for the first time without putting bread in it to allow
the heating elements to heat up and bun off any dust accumulated on them
during assembly.
OPERATING PROCEDURE

Ensure that the crumb tray is in the correct position.
-
The appliance should be placed on a level surface, away from walls.
-
Unwind the power cord and insert the plug into a suitable electric socket.
-
Insert slices of bread into the slots. Ensure that the toaster lever is in the upper position.
-
Turn on the power. Depress the toaster lever until it latches. The CANCEL button indicator and the toasting level setting (“3” by default) will light up on the display.
The appliance will start operating. You can select the desired toasting level or an auxiliary function:
• Levels 1 & 2: for cooled bread and thinner frozen foods such as frozen pancakes.
• Levels 3 & 4: for bakery, frozen waffles and thin French toasts.
• Levels 5 to 7: for thicker frozen foods such as hand-cut bread and thick French toasts. -
When the toasting process is over the lever will return to the upper position.

If you wish to interrupt the toasting, press the CANCEL button.
NOTES:
– In order to slightly dry the bread use toasting level (1).
– For fresh bread, whole grain bread or slices with rough surfaces (e.g.
English cakes) use a higher toasting level.
– Toasting thick slices of bread takes a substantial time. These can be
toasted using two operating cycles.
– When toasting bread with raisins or other fruits remove these from the
surface of the slices to prevent them from falling into the toaster or
sticking to the metal surfaces inside the slot.
– Toasting a single slice only: if you wish to toast only a single slice,
select a lower toasting level. The toaster is designed for toasting two slices
at a time, therefore both chambers are heated. Reduce the toasting time so
that the slice is not overly browned.
– Frozen breads: frozen waffles, pancakes and French toasts should be heated
using the DEFROST function.
WARMING UP
If necessary you can warm up cooled down toasts. This mode allows to warm the
bread up without additional toasting.
Press the WARM-UP button (11). The relevant indicator will light up on the
display.
DEFROSTING
The DEFROST button is provided to defrost the bread first and then toast it,
which slightly lengthens the toasting cycle.
Press the DEFROST button (8) to activate the function. The indicator above the
relevant button will light up.
SINGLE SIDE TOASTING
Pres the SINGLE SIDE TOASTING button (10) to activate the function. The
indicator above the relevant button will light up.
MAINTENANCE
– Before cleaning disconnect the appliance from power supply by pulling the
plug from the socket and allow the appliance to fully cool down.
– Do not submerge the appliance in water or any other liquids.
– Wipe the outer surfaces of the toaster with damp cloth, then wipe dry.
– Retract the crumb tray and discard the crumbs, then reinsert the tray.
– Never place any foreign objects in the toast slots to avoid damage to the
appliance.
– Store the appliance in a dry, cool place, out of reach of children.

ATTENTION! CAREFUL: accessible surfaces of the appliance can reach high temperature during operation.
DISPOSAL OF THE APPLIANCE
Upon expiry of its service life the appliance can be disposed of separately
from ordinary domestic waste. You can turn it over to a specialized electric
and electronic appliance
disposal and recycling centre.
CERTIFICATION DATA, GUARANTEE
The service life of this item is 5 years since the date of sale to the end
user, provided the item will be used in strict accordance with the present
manual and the applicable technical standards. Upon expiry of the service life
please contact the nearest authorized service centre for suggestions as to
further operation of the appliance.
The manufacturing date of the appliance is integrated into the serial number
(digits 2 and 3 – year, digits 4 and 5 – month of manufacture). If any
questions related to appliance maintenance should arise, or if the appliance
has malfunctions, apply to the CENTEK TM Authorized Service Center. The

The guarantee period for all appliances amounts to 12 months since the date of
sale to the end consumer. With this Warranty Card the Manufacturer confirms
the proper condition of the appliance and undertakes to repair, free of
charge, all defects caused by the Manufacturer’s default.
GUARANTEE MAINTENANCE TERMS

The guarantee shall be valid if the following documentation conditions are observed:
– The original Warranty Card shall be filled out correctly and clearly, indicating the of appliance model, serial number and sale date, the stamp of the seller company and signature of its representative shall be available, as well as the stamps on each coupon and the buyer’s signature in the Warranty Card.
The Manufacturer reserves the right to reject guarantee maintenance if the buyer fails to provide the abovementioned documents or if the information contained therein is incomplete, illegible or ambiguous. -
The guarantee shall be valid if the following operation conditions are observed:
– the appliance is used in strict accordance with the present manual;
– the safety rules and requirements are observed. -
The guarantee does not apply to regular maintenance, cleaning, installation and setup of the appliance at the owner’s location.

The guarantee does not apply in the following cases:
– mechanical damage;
– normal wear of the appliance;
– non-observance of operation requirements or erroneous actions on the part of the user;
– improper installation or transportation;
– natural disasters (lightning, fire, flood, etc.), as well as any other causes beyond the Manufacturer’s or Seller’s control;
– ingress of foreign objects, liquids or insects into the inside of the appliance;
– repairs or modifications to the appliance by unauthorized persons;
– use of the appliance for commercial purposes (loads exceeding normal domestic application), connection of the appliance to utility and telecommunication networks incompliant with national technical standards;
– failure of the following accessories, if replacement of these is allowed by design and does not involve disassembly of the appliance:
a) remote control units, rechargeable batteries, replaceable batteries (power cells), external power supply units and chargers;
b) consumables and accessories (packaging, covers, slings, carry bags, mesh screens, blades, flasks, plates, supports, grilles, spits, hoses, tubes, brushes, nozzles, dust collectors, filters, smell absorbers);
– for battery-powered appliances – operation with inappropriate or depleted batteries;
– for rechargeable battery-powered appliances – any damage caused by improper battery charging and recharging. -
The present guarantee is provided by the Manufacturer in addition to the consumer rights determined by the applicable legislation and does not limit these rights in any way.

The Manufacturer shall not be made liable for possible damage, directly or indirectly inflicted by CENTEK brand products on people, domestic animals, the consumer’s or third persons’ property if such damage is inflicted as the result of non-observance of appliance installation and operation requirements, deliberate or negligent actions (omission) by the consumer or third persons, as well as of force majeure circumstances.

Service centers will only accept appliances in a clean state (there should be no food residues, dust and other contamination on the appliance).
The Manufacturer reserves the right to change the design and specifications of the appliance without prior notice.
