DESCRIPTION
ABOUT THE SOLAR ENERGY SYSTEM
The solar energy system with flexible panels is an elegant, economic and
practical system based on very effective and lightweight solar panels, joint
negative terminals, and advanced, maximum power point tracking (MPPT). The
operating status is shown on a display on the main unit and on an auxiliary
display on the remote control panel. The MPPT controller controls the solar
cells on the basis of the current operating conditions to the run point where
they produce their maximum power. This can increase energy recovery by up to
20 – 30% in comparison with solar energy systems with pulse width modulation
(PWM). The system has built-in overcurrent protection for the battery charging
circuits as well as the option to connect external protection via the RS485
port, which makes the system very reliable and adjustable to different
installation requirements. The MPPT charge controller has an adaptive three-
stage charging algorithm based on digital control circuits, which increases
both the life span of the batteries and system performance. The system also
has electronic protection from overcharging, over-discharging, and reverse
polarisation of solar panels and batteries, which makes the system very
reliable and robust. The charge controller is ideal for campers, base stations
for radio communication, households, monitoring of field installations, and
many other applications.
INSTALLATION
POSITIONING
Choose a position for installation with as much direct solar radiation and as
many unshadowed hours of sunlight per day as possible.
The installation can be done in several different ways, the most important thing is that the solar panel is not installed where the sunlight is shadowed. A suitable method is hanging from hooks or a line. The panel has pre-drilled holes for this.
CONNECTION
Up to eight 55 W solar panels can be connected to the same circuit. The
diagrams show examples of installation with a single solar panel and with
parallel connection of
8 solar panels with a total output of 440 W.
- Article number 013676
- Article number 013672 (accessory)
- Load/consumer
NOTE:
- More than 8 solar panels should NOT be connected in parallel.
- The solar panel has been subjected to a flexural strength test of 30 degrees of curvature. Do not exceed this, and protect the panel from knocks and blows
- risk of damaging the panel.
- The efficiency of the solar panel can diminish in time. This is not a fault – it is normal that solar cells become less efficient over the years. External factors such as the intensity of the solar radiation at the installation point, fouling, snow, and ambient temperature, can also affect the performance of the solar panel.
