Do not force discharge, recharge, disassemble, heat above (Lithium Metal (CRXXXX series) 158°F (70 ºC) or Silver Oxide (SRXXXXX Series) 140°F (60°C) or incinerate. Doing so may result in injury due to venting, leakage or explosion resulting in chemical burns.
Ensure the batteries are installed correctly according to polarity.
Do not mix old and new batteries, different brands or types of batteries, such as alkaline, carbon zinc, or rechargeable batteries.
Remove and immediately recycle or dispose of batteries from equipment not used for an extended period of time according to local regulations.
Always completely secure the battery compartment. If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product, remove the batteries and keep them away from children.

BASIC OPERATIONS

Press MODE to cycle through DAILY ALARM, DAY ALARM, TIME ZONE and CHRONOGRAPH modes.
Press INDIGLO to illuminate watch face.
When setting, press and hold START/STOP or SPLIT/RESET to change digits rapidly.

TIME SYNCHRONIZATION

Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) is the basis for the worldwide system of civil time. It is determined using highly precise atomic clocks at time laboratories around the world that are accurate to a billionth of a second per day. UTC signals are broadcast via low-frequency signals. Your radio- controlled Timex® watch synchronizes its time to the broadcast time signal. PLEASE NOTE: This product only works in North America.

In TIME mode, press and hold SPLIT/RESET. Watch will attempt to synchronize time with the nearest time broadcast and the tower symbol will flash in display. This may take up to two minutes.
Watch automatically attempts synchronization at 1:00 am daily and 4:00 am Sunday local time.
Tower icon ( ) appears in the display if synchronization has been successful within 24 hours.

TIPS

WARNING: Depending on your location, the watch may be unable to pick up the radio signal from Colorado. Synchronization may also not be successful if your watch is near a source of interference (e.g., a computer monitor) or you are in a building with a metal roof. Cloudy or rainy weather conditions may interfere with radio signal transmission. If synchronization is unsuccessful, try the following:

Rotate the watch 90 degrees.
Move to a wall or window facing toward Fort Collins, CO.
Move at least 2 meters away from any computer monitors.
Move outside. If it works outdoors but not indoors, you may have a local interference problem in your building.

If your watch is off by one or more hours: make sure you have properly selected your time zone (see below). If you are in an area that does not observe Daylight Savings Time (DST), be sure DST is disabled on your watch. If your watch is off by a few minutes or seconds: make sure that your watch is currently receiving the signal (tower icon appears in the display). If your watch did not adjust the time for DST, make sure that your watch is currently receiving the signal (tower icon appears in the display).

QUICK START FEATURE: At any time, you can press and hold SPLIT/RESET to force the watch to attempt synchronization. For further information on synchronization/interference issues, visit the U.S. government website: http://tf.nist.gov/stations/wwvb.htm.

TIME AND DATE

To view UTC, press ADJUST. Universal Time appears in upper part of the display. Press again to change to time and date display.
To set watch, press and hold AJDUST. TIME digits will flash.
Press START/SPLIT or SPLIT/RESET to set the time. Go through 12 hours for AM or PM.
Press MODE to select the date. Day changes automatically.
Press START/SPLIT or SPLIT/RESET to set the date. Go through 12 months to set a year.
Press AJDUST when done.

TIME ZONE

Press MODE until ZO appears.
Press and hold ADJUST. TIME ZONE digits will flash.
Press START/STOP or SPLIT/RESET to select a time zone. P, M, C, or E will appear at the top of the display to indicate the time zone depending on the hours value selected (see chart below).
If desired, press MODE to select the DST setting and press START/STOP or SPLIT/RESET to turn on/off.
Press ADJUST when done.

DAILY ALARM

Press MODE until AL appears.
Press and hold AJDUST. TIME digits will flash.
Press START/SPLIT or SPLIT/RESET to set the alarm time. Go through 12 hours for AM or PM. Press AJDUST when done.
Press and hold ALARM for two seconds in any mode to turn the alarm on or off.
When the alarm time is reached, the watch will beep for 30 seconds, or until any button is pushed. The alarm repeats every 24 hours until deactivated.

DAY ALARM

Press MODE until DA appears.
Press and hold AJDUST. TIME digits will flash.
Press START/SPLIT or SPLIT/RESET to set the alarm date.
Press ADJUST when done.
At midnight on alarm date, TODAY will flash in display until the following day.

CHRONOGRAPH

Press MODE until SP appears.
Press SPLIT/RESET to select Split or Lap display.
Press START/STOP to start.
Press SPLIT/RESET to record lap or split time. CHRONO continues to run.
Press SPLIT/RESET to display the running time.
Press START/STOP to pause. Press again to resume.
Press START/STOP and then SPLIT/RESET to reset CHRONO.

INDIGLO® NIGHT-LIGHT
Press INDIGLO to illuminate the watch’s face. Patented (U.S. pat. 4,527,096 and 4,775,964) electroluminescent technology used in the INDIGLO® night-light illuminates the entire watch face at night and in low light conditions. INDIGLO® night-light shuts off automatically after 5 seconds.

WATER RESISTANCE

If your watch is water-resistant, meter marking or ( ) is indicated.

WARNING: TO MAINTAIN WATER RESISTANCE, DO NOT PRESS ANY BUTTONS OR PULL OUT THE CROWN UNDER WATER UNLESS YOUR WATCH IS INDICATED AS 200 METER WATER- RESISTANT.

The watch is water-resistant only as long as the crystal, crown and case remain intact.
The watch is not a diver watch and should not be used for diving.
Rinse watch with fresh water after exposure to salt water.

BATTERY

If the battery is low, symbol ( ) will flash in the display. Timex strongly recommends that a retailer or jeweller replace the battery. If applicable, push the reset button when replacing the battery. Battery type is indicated on caseback. Battery life estimates are based on certain assumptions regarding usage; battery life may vary depending on actual usage. DO NOT DISPOSE OF BATTERY IN FIRE. DO NOT RECHARGE. KEEP LOOSE BATTERIES AWAY FROM CHILDREN.
