VC-SP 120W 18V Solar Charger
Instruction Manual
Intended use
This product is intended for mobile solar power generation and can be used to
charge suitable power stations or other electrical devices. It can be folded
for transport. To increase the output power, the product can be connected in
series with another solar charger of the same type. The product has an IP65
ingress protection rating and is protected from dust and low pressure water
jets from any direction. The product is suitable for outdoor use. Do not
immerse the product in water.
Using the product for purposes other than those described above may damage the
product. Improper product use can cause a short circuit, fire, electric shock
or other hazards.
This product complies with statutory, national and European regulations. For
safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify the product.
Read the operating instructions carefully and store them in a safe place. Make
this product available to third parties only together with the operating
instructions.

Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety
information. If you do not follow the safety instructions and information on
proper handling in this manual, we assume no liability for any resulting

5.1 General information
- This product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
- Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. It may become a dangerous plaything for children.
- Should you have any questions or concerns after reading this document, please contact our technical support or a professional technician.
- Maintenance, modifications and repairs must be carried out by a technician or a specialist repair centre.
- Always observe the safety information and operating instructions of any other devices which are connected to the product.
5.2 Handling
- Handle the product carefully. Impact, shocks or a fall even from a low height can damage the product.
- Avoid touching the surface directly. The surface is sensitive and can easily be scratched or damaged by impurities. Clean the surface regularly with a soft cloth to prevent a drop in the output power.
5.3 Operating environment
- Do not expose the product to any mechanical stress.
- Protect the product from extreme temperatures, strong jolts, flammable gases, vapours, and solvents.
- The product is only protected against ingress of spray water. Do not immerse the product in water or use high-pressure or steam cleaning devices for cleaning.
5.4 Operation
Only connect the product to power stations or other electric devices as
described in this manual. Connect the product to a maximum of one other solar
charger of
the same type in series. Do not try to connect more than two solar chargers in
series. Risk of fatal electric shock!
- The power of the solar charger may vary depending on the weather. Never operate electric devices directly via the product. Only use the product to charge a suitable power station.
- Never leave the product unattended during use.
- Consult an expert when in doubt about the operation, safety or connection of the device.
- If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, stop using it and prevent unauthorized use. DO NOT attempt to repair the product yourself. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
– is visibly damaged,
– is no longer working properly,
– has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
– has been subjected to any serious transport-related stress.
5.5 Connection cable
- Make sure that the cable is not pinched, kinked or damaged by sharp edges.
- Always lay cables so that nobody can trip over or become entangled in them. Risk of injury!

Installation
- Remove the product from the carry bag.
- Unfold the solar panels (1).
- Unfold the stand (3).
- Position the solar panels (1) so that they are directly exposed to sunlight.
- Adjust the inclination of the solar panels (1) using the elastic band (4). Optimum efficiency is achieved when the sun shines at a 90° angle.
Getting started
8.1 Direct connection
- Connect the MC4 connector on the connection cable to the MC4 socket (2) on the solar charger.
- Connect the MC4 socket on the connection cable to the MC4 connector (5) on the solar charger.
- Connect the suitable connector on the connecting cable to the power station or the electrical device you want to charge. Observe the operating instructions of the corresponding device.
8.2 Series connection with another solar charger
- Connect the MC4 connector (5) on the first solar charger to the MC4 socket (2) on the second solar charger.
- Connect the MC4 connector on the connection cable to the free MC4 socket (2) on the solar chargers.
- Connect the MC4 socket on the connection cable to the free MC4 connector (5) on the solar chargers.
- Connect the suitable connector on the connecting cable to the power station or the electrical device you want to charge. Observe the operating instructions of the corresponding device.
Troubleshooting

Position the solar panels so they are directly exposed to sunlight.
Adjust the inclination of the solar panels so that the sunlight strikes at a
90° angle.
There is shade on the solar panels.| Make sure that the sunlight shines
directly onto the solar panels and that there are no
shadows.
The solar panels are dirty.| Clean the solar panels as described in section
“10 Cleaning and care”.
Cleaning and care
Important:
– Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical
solutions. These may damage the housing and can cause the product to
malfunction.
– Do not immerse the product in water.
- Disconnect the MC4 connector and the MC4 socket on the connection cable from the product.
- Clean the product with a soft damp cloth.
Disposal
This symbol must appear on any electrical and electronic equipment placed on
the EU market. This symbol indicates that this device should not be disposed
of as unsorted municipal waste at the end of its service life. Owners of WEEE
(Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment) shall dispose of it
separately from unsorted municipal waste.
Spent batteries and accumulators, which are not enclosed by the WEEE, as well
as lamps that can be removed from the WEEE in a non-destructive manner, must
be removed by end users from the WEEE in a non-destructive manner before it is
handed over to a collection point.
Distributors of electrical and electronic equipment are legally obliged to
provide free take-back of waste. Conrad provides the following return options
