Product Information Emerson 13.5 Relay Soft Starter
The Emerson 13.5 Relay Soft Starter is an electrical component used to start and control the operation of a compressor. It has a legend that includes the following symbols:
- S: Start (Disconnected)
- C: Common
- H: Hermatic
- R: Run
- OL: Overload Switch
The product comes with the following wires:
- Black
- Brown
- Blue
- Red Start Capacitor
- White L1

- C F Run Capacitor

Product Usage Instructions
- Step 1: Before servicing any electrical component, make sure to disconnect the power supply to avoid shock hazard.
- Step 2: Connect the wires to their corresponding symbols on the Emerson 13.5 Relay Soft Starter as per the legend mentioned above.
- Step 3: Splice the wires as needed. There are three 3-way spliced wires that should be connected together.|
- Step 4: Once all wires are connected, turn on the power supply to start the compressor. The overload switch (OL) will automatically turn off if the compressor experiences an overload.
