OUR TOP ROUTER TIPS

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION

  • A strong WiFi signal relies on a well-placed router.
  • High, central, and clear of obstacles.
  • If it’s on the floor, in a corner, or near a window chances are you’re sending a chunk of your WiFi signal – quite literally – is out the window.

CHECK YOUR BAND

  • A dual-band router offers both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies (not to be confused with 5G).
  • 5GHz offers a faster speed in a short distance.
  • If your device is more than 3m from your router, choose 2.4GHz as it offers a better strength for longer distances.

USING OUR STANDARD ROUTER?
UPGRADE TO WHOLE HOME WIFI

  • Get a consistent internet experience across your entire home, without the worry of dropouts, buffering, or dead zones. Whole Home WiFi is great for those hard-to-reach places.
  • Get in touch with our team if you’d like to learn more.

WHEN IN DOUBT, REBOOT

  • It’s amazing how often a simple reboot can fix issues you might be having. Simply turn off your router, wait 10 seconds and turn it back on.
  • If you need any help, get in touch with our friendly team who’ll be happy to help get you up and running.

USE AN ETHERNET CABLE

  • We sometimes forget: wires still exist! A wired connection to your router is faster and more stable than WiFi.
  • If you have devices that need the fastest internet possible – a gaming console or smart
  • TV, for example – it could be worth running an Ethernet cable from your device to the router.
