Product Information

The product is a vinyl record player that comes with an Aux In feature. It has a built-in speaker and a Line Out feature for connecting to external speakers or amplifiers. The vinyl record player can play 45 & 78-RPM records and after playing, it will stop in about 60 seconds.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Connect the vinyl record player to a power source.
  2. Turn on the vinyl record player by pressing the power button.
  3. To play a vinyl record, place it on the turntable and use the speed selector switch to choose between 45 & 78 RPM records.
  4. To use the Aux In feature, connect your device to the Aux In port using a 3.5mm audio cable.
  5. Use the PLAY/PAUSE/PAIR/SCAN button to play, pause, pair or scan for Bluetooth devices.
  6. Use the CH- / PREVIOUS TRACK / REWIND button to go to the previous track or rewind the current track.
  7. Use the CH+ / NEXT TRACK / FAST FORWARD button to go to the next track or fast forward the current track.
  8. Use the FOLDER DOWN and FOLDER UP buttons to browse through folders on your device.
  9. Use the MANUAL TRACK INCREMENT button to manually increment the track number.
  10. To connect external speakers or amplifiers, use the Line Out port.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Front View

  1. FUNCTION: select a source (CD, AM, FM, BLUETOOTH, PHONO, USB, or AUX)
  2. OPEN/CLOSE/DELETE: In CD/CD-MP3 mode, use this to open and close the disc tray/ In USB mode, Use this button to delete a USB track.

  1. FM wire antenna While tuned to a station in FM mode, extend the wire and reposition to adjust for best reception.

REMOTE CONTROL

When using the remote control, point it towards the remote sensor on the front panel of the unit.

Notes:

  • Even if the remote control is operated within the effective range, remote control operation may be impossible if there are any obstacles between the unit and the remote control.
  • If the remote control unit is operated near other devices which generate infrared rays, it may not function properly. Conversely, the other devices may not function incorrectly.

Battery Installation

  1. Remove the battery compartment cover.
  2. Insert 2x “AAA” batteries. (batteries not included) Note: Make sure that they are oriented so their polarity markings,”+” match the remote’s markings.
  3. Replace the battery compartment cover.

Battery Replacement
When the distance required between the remote control unit and main unit decreases, it is necessary to replace the battery with new ones.

Battery Precautions
Be sure to insert the batteries with correct positive + and negative – orientations. ALWAYS use batteries of the same type. Never mix different types of batteries together. When using rechargeable batteries, refer to the precautions on their labels. When the remote control unit is not to be used for a long time (more than a month), remove the batteries to prevent them from leaking. Do not heat or disassemble batteries, and NEVER dispose of old batteries by throwing them in a fire.

Remote Control Button Functions

  1. POWER: Press to turn on the unit.
  2. MUTE
  3. PROGRAM: In CD/CD-MP3/USB mode, press to program tracks. In radio mode, press to preset a station.
  4. RADIO: Press to listen to the radio. Press again to switch between AM and FM modes
  5. USB: Press to switch to USB mode.
  6. STOP: Press to stop playback.
  7. PLAY/PAUSE/PAIR/SCAN: Press to play/pause tracks. In radio mode, long press to auto-save the station. In Bluetooth mode, long press to disconnect pairing.
  8. CH-/ PREVIOUS TRACK / REWIND: In CD/CD- MP3mode, press once to restart the current track, and press twice in succession to return to the beginning of the previous track..In USB and Bluetooth mode, press to skip a previous track. SETUP & BASIC OPERATION

SETUP

  1. Connect the power plug into the wall outlet. Note: To prevent interference, avoid bundling audio signal cables together with the AC power cord.
  2. Extend Antenna: For optimal FM reception, be sure to stretch the FM antenna wire located at the lower back of the unit and move it around until the station you have tuned in is being received clearly.

BASIC OPERATION

  1. Press the ON/OFF button to turn the unit on. Press the ON/OFF button again to tum the unit off.
  2. Select the source.
  3. Rotate the VOLUME knob to adjust to the desired sound level.
  4. Listening through Earphones/Headphones (not included). The sound from all speakers is cut off.

LISTENING TO THE RADIO

  1. Press the FUNCTION button to select the AM/FM tuning function. The display will show “AM” or “FM”.

  2. Tune to the desired frequency.

  3. Or press the and buttons to select a frequency, and you can press and hold this button to auto-search the station.

  4. Save a station:
    You can save your favorite stations. It can save 9 stations in FM, and 9 stations in AM.
    Auto saves a station:

  5. Long-press the SCAN button or long-press the scan button on the remote control to auto-search and save the stations.

  6. Press the “Program” button on the unit or press the “Folder UP” or “Folder DN” button on the remote control to view or listen to the saved station.

Manually save a station:

  1. Select a radio station that you want to save.
  2. Long press the “PROG” button, the “P-” will flash on the screen.
  3. Press the or button to select a position. Note: If you save a new station at the location where one was already saved, the previous station will be overwritten.
  4. Press the “Program” button to confirm.
  5. After the preset is complete, press the “Program” button on the unit or press the “Folder UP” or “Folder DN” button on the remote control to view or listen to the saved station.

LISTENING TO AUX DEVICE
An external (auxiliary) audio source (i.e., personal CD player or MP3 player) can be connected to this unit and heard through the speakers.

LINE IN (AUX IN):

  1. Connect an external device using the LINE IN socket on the back of the unit.
    • Plug the RCA red and white jack (included) into the LINE IN socket with the same color on the back of the unit.
    • Plug the other end of the cable into the headphone or Line Out socket of the external source.
  2. Press the FUNCTION button to select the AUX function, and the display will show “AUX”.

LINE OUT:

Connect to external speakers or entertainment system (Optional) using the LINE OUT jacks on the back of the unit:

  • Connect the red RCA cable to the red jack and the white RCA Cable to the white jack on the back of the unit.
  • Plug the other ends of the RCA Cable into the auxiliary input (AUX) on your home entertainment receiver or another music system, again being sure that the correct color-coded jacks are used.
  • Do not turn up the volume on your Unit. Instead, adjust the volume on your TV or home entertainment receiver.

LISTENING TO BLUETOOTH® DEVICE
External devices which have a built-in Bluetooth® feature can be connected to this apparatus and play through the speakers.

GETTING CONNECTED

  1. Press the Function button to select Bluetooth mode.
  2. Set the Bluetooth function of your external device ON.
  3. Set to search Bluetooth device on your external device. Note: The effective distance between your external device and this apparatus is up to 33 feet (10 meters).
  4. Wait for a while then find the “VICTOR VHRP-1400” on the paired devices list on your external device.
  5. If a window asks you for a password. Fill in “0000” or “1234” then press KOK” on your external device.
  6. A few seconds later your Bluetooth connection should be achieved.

BLUETOOTH® OUT

  1. In CD, AUX IN, and PHONO modes, you can use Bluetooth transmitting function to play music from the device on an external Bluetooth speaker.
  2. In CD, AUX IN, and PHONO modes, Bluetooth will emit automatically. If you want to use an external Bluetooth speaker to connect to the unit, just set the Bluetooth speaker to pairing mode.
  3. Press the TUNING/SCAN button for about 2 seconds to disconnect paired Bluetooth speaker or start pairing.
  4. After the Bluetooth connection, the unit will be silent. You can adjust the volume of the external Bluetooth speaker through the VOLUME knob on the unit or VOL+ NOL – buttons on the remote control.
  5. When you switch to another function mode (Bluetooth, USB, Radio) Bluetooth will be disconnecting.

Note:
Make sure that Bluetooth is off on any devices in the vicinity that will automatically connect to your speaker. And the effective distance between your external device and this apparatus is up to 33 feet (10 meters).

LISTENING TO A RECORD

  1. Press the FUNCTION button to select the PHONO function, and the display will show “PHONO”.
  2. Select player speed (33 1 /3, 45, OR 78 RPM).
  3. Put a record onto the turntable (use the 45 RPM adaptor provided when playing a single record).
  4. Use cue-lever to raise the tone arm.
  5. Move the tone arm over the record.
  6. Use the cue lever to lower the tone arm so that the stylus contacts the record. The record starts to play.
  7. When the record has finished playing, the TONE ARM will stop at the center of the record and must be returned to the armrest manually.

Note:
After you play 45 & 78 RPM vinyl records, it will stop in about 60 seconds.

LISTENING TO A CD/CD-MP3

  1. Press the FUNCTION button to select the CD function, and the display will show “CD”.

  2. Open the CD door by pressing the OPEN/CLOSE button, and then put the CD disc on the tray.

  3. Close the tray and the “CD READ” will flash for a few seconds on the display. The CD disc will start playing from the first track automatically.

  4. Press the FF ( ) button once to go to the start of the next track.

  5. Press the FR ( ) button once to go back to the restart of the current track. Press the FR button twice to go back to the start of the previous track.

  6. Press and hold the FF( ) button or FR( ) button reverse or forward to any point in a selected track. Note: Do not push both buttons together as this may damage the unit. As the unit is tracking quickly, forward or backward you will hear your selection playing at a distorted speed. Simply release the depressed button to continue playing at normal speed at the desired position in the selected track.

  7. Play mode
    Each time the REPEAT button is pressed, the repeat mode will cycle through the following options:

    • A. REPEAT 1: The current track will be played repeatedly. If you press the ( or  ) button to select another track, the track you select will be played repeatedly.
    • B. REPEAT: In CD-MP3 mode, you can select the folder to play repeatedly.
    • C. REPEAT ALL: The entire CD/CD-MP3 will be played repeatedly.
    • D. RON DOM: Press the PLAY MODE/PROGRAM button four times to random play, and the “RANDOM” will show on the display
      Clear play mode:
      Press the PLAY MODE/PROGRAM button repeatedly until “repeat “or “random” disappear on the screen.
  8. In the stop state, press the PLAY MODE/PROGRAM button, and the LCD display will show PROG, then press the F.F or F.R button to select the tracks, press the PLAY MODE/PROGRAM button to repeat this step to program, and it can be up to 20 songs in CD mode,99 songs in CD-mp3 mode. When playing programmed tracks, press the STOP button twice, and you can delete the program function.

  9. Pausing the CD play.

  10. Pressing the PLAY/PAUSE button will restart the CD where it was paused. Do not switch the unit off while playing a CD as this will damage the unit.

  11. Pressing the STOP to stop the CD play.

Note: Press the Folder DN or Folder UP button on the remote control can select the folder in the CD-mp3 disc.

COMPACT DISC FORMAT

This unit has been designed specifically for sound reproduction from compact discs bearing the mark. No other discs can be used.

  1. Always place the CD in the tray with the label facing upward. (Compact discs can be played only on one side.)
  2. Fingermarks and dust should be carefully wiped off the disc-recorded surface with a soft cloth (not included).
  3. Never use chemicals such as record sprays, anti-static sprays or fluid, benzene, or thinner to clean compact discs. Such chemicals will do irreparable damage to the disc’s plastic surface.
  4. The CD should be returned to their cases after use to avoid serious scratches that could cause the laser pick-up to skip.
  5. Do not expose discs to direct sunlight or high humidity and temperature for extended periods. Long exposure to high temperatures can warp the disc.
  6. Do not stick paper or write anything with a ballpoint pen on the surface of the label side.
  7. Do not use irregular-shaped CDs (octagonal, heart-shaped, etc.), all of which can damage the unit.
  8. To remove a disc from its storage case, press down on the center of the case and lift the disc out, holding it carefully by the edge.

PLAYING MUSIC FROM A USB DEVICE

The system can decode and playback MP3 files stored in the USB flash disk via the USB port.

Note:
When connecting the system to an MP3 player via the USB socket, there are variances in MP3 encoding format, therefore some MP3 files cannot be played (or copied) via the USB socket. This is not a malfunction of the system.

Furthermore, the system does not support iPod devices.

  1. Press the FUNCTION button to select the USB Function, and the display will show “USB READ”.
  2. Insert an external audio source (ie. MP3 player) into the USB jack, and the unit will be ready and play the music automatically.
  3. Press the PLAY ( ) button to play the external audio source.
  4. Press the FF ( ) or FR ( ) button once to go to the start of the next track or previous track.
  5. Play mode
    • Each time the REPEAT button is pressed, the repeat mode will cycle through the following options:
    • A.REPEAT 1: The current track will be played repeatedly. If you press the (1+111 or 1111+1) button to select another track, the track you select will be played repeatedly.
    • B. REPEAT: you can select the folder to play repeatedly.
    • C. REPEAT ALL: The entire USB will be played repeatedly.
    • D. RANDOM: Press the PLAY MODE/PROGRAM button four times to random play, and the “RANDOM” will show on the display
    • Press the PLAY MODE/PROGRAM button repeatedly until repeats or randomly disappears on the screen.
    • Clear play mode:
    • Press the PLAY MODE/PROGRAM button repeatedly until “repeat “or •random” disappear on the screen.
  6. In stop state, press the PLAY MODE/PROGRAM button, the LCD display will show PROG, press the F.F or F.R button to select the folder number, press the PLAY MODE/PROGRAM button to confirm, and press the F.F or F.R button to select the tracks, then press the PLAY MODE/PROGRAM button to repeat this step to program, and it can be up to 99 songs.
  7. When playing programmed tracks, press the STOP button twice, and you can delete the program function.
  8. Pausing the playing.
  9. Stopping the playing.

DELETE A TRACK
When USB playback, pressing the OPEN/CLOSE/DELETE button briefly can delete the current track.

REMOVING USB DRIVE
To remove the USB device, turn off the power or switch the function mode to either CD, Radio or Aux first, don’t pull out the USB device during playing the files of USB device.

CD ENCODING

The system is able to encode a normal CD to MP3 format and record onto a USB flash drive via the USB port.

  1. In CD/CD-MP3 play mode, insert a USB device into the USB jack.
  2. Press REC button, then ” REC “will appear on the display. The red USB recording indicator flashing.
  3. Press the REC button again to end the recording.

NOTE: CD recording will automatically split music.

PHONO/AUX/BLUETOOTH ENCODING

The system can encode Bluetooth, AUX input, or Turntable (Phono} to MP3 format and record onto a USB flash drive via the USB port.

  1. Set the function to PHONO, Bluetooth, or AUX mode, and insert a USB device into the USB jack.
  2. Play audio from the turntable, connected Bluetooth device, or the AUX input device you want to record, press the REC button to begin the encoding, and The red USB recording indicator flashes.
  3. During encoding, press “Manual track increment” on the remote control to divide the music.
  4. Press the REC button again to end the recording.

NOTE: If no audio input, the recording will pause.

MAINTENANCE

REPLACING THE STYLUS ON THE RECORD PLAYER

Remove Old Stylus

  1. Set a screwdriver at the tip of the stylus and push down to the direction “A”.
  2. Remove the stylus by pulling it down and forward.

Install New Stylus

  1. Hold the tip of the stylus and insert the other edge by pressing in the direction “B”. 0
  2. Push up in the direction “C” until it locks at the tip.

TROUBLESHOOTING

In case of trouble with the unit, please look through it and see if you can solve the problem by yourself before calling your dealer.

Beware of Condensation
When the player (or a compact disc) experiences a sudden temperature change, there is a danger of condensation. Water vapor could condense on the mechanism or the laser pickup. If droplets of water form on these parts, correct playback will be impossible because the laser cannot read the information from the disc correctly. If you are going to use the player in a condition where condensation could occur, you should leave the player for 1 or 2 hours after plugging it into an AC outlet depending on the amount of condensation.
