Panel Explanation

LED Status Explanation

SYS

| On (Green)| The switch finishes system booting and the system is ready.
Blinking (Green)| The switch is powered on and starts system booting.
Off| The power is off or the system is not ready / malfunctioning.

PWR

| On| The device is powered on.
Off| The device is powered off.
RJ 45 LNK/ACT

Port 1 ~ 8

| On (Green)| The device is connected with 1000Mbps.
On (Amber)| The device is connected with 10/100Mbps.
Blinking| The system is sending or receiving data through the port.
Off| The port is disconnected or the link is failed.
Combo Port 9 ~ 12| On (Green)| The device is connected with 1000Mbps.
On (Amber)| The device is connected with 10/100Mbps.
Blinking| The system is sending or receiving data through the port.
Off| The port is disconnected or the link is failed.
SFP LNK/ACT| On (Green)| The device is connected with 1000Mbps.
On (Amber)| The device is connected with 10/100Mbps.
Blinking| The system is sending or receiving data through the port.
Off| The port is disconnected or the link is failed.
Interface| Description
---|---
Console| Used to perform telnet command control.
RST| Factory reset button.

Press it to reset the system with factory default settings. (5~20 seconds)

RJ 45 LNK/ACT Port 1 ~ 8| Used for Ethernet connection.
SFP LNK/ACT Port 9 ~ 12| Port 9 to Port 12 are used for fiber connection.
| Power inlet for AC input (100~240V/AC, 50/60Hz).

Hardware Installation

This section will guide you to install the switch through hardware connection and configure the switch’s settings through web browser.
3.1 Network Connection
Before starting to configure the device, you have to connect your devices correctly. All device ports are in the same local area network.

3.2 Rack-Mounted Installation
The switch can be installed easily by using rack mount kit.

  1. Fasten the rack mount kit on both sides of the VigorSwitch using specific screws.

  2. Then, install the VigorSwitch (with rack mount kit) on the 19-inch chassis by using other four screws.

Software Configuration

VigorSwitch, for example:
IP Address: 192.168.1.224
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.254

Assign a reasonable IP address, for example:
IP Address: 192.168.1.100
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.254

Before using the switch, perform the following steps:

  1. Set up a physical path between the configured the switch and a PC by a qualified UTP Cat. 5e cable with RJ-45 connector.
    If a PC directly connects to the switch, you have to setup the same subnet mask for
    PC and the switch. Default values of the managed switch are listed as follows:IP Address| 192.168.1.224

  2. After configuring correct IP address on your PC, open your web browser and access switch’s IP address.

Safety Instructions

Warranty

We warrant to the original end user (purchaser) that the switch will be free from any defects in workmanship or materials for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase from the dealer. Please keep your purchase receipt in a safe place as it serves as proof of date of purchase. During the warranty period, and upon proof of purchase, should the product have indications of failure due to faulty workmanship and/or materials, we will, at our discretion, repair or replace the defective products or components, without charge for either parts or labor, to whatever extent we deem necessary tore- store the product to proper operating condition. Any replacement will consist of a new or re-manufactured functionally equivalent product of equal value, and will be offered solely at our discretion. This warranty will not apply if the product is modified, misused, tampered with, damaged by an act of God, or subjected to abnormal working conditions.
