CENTEK CT-1453 Waffle Maker
DEAR CUSTOMER!
Prior to operating the appliance, please carefully read the present manual
which contains important information regarding its proper and safe operation.
Take care not to lose the present manual. The manufacturer will not be
responsible for any damage resulting from improper use of the appliance or
from non-observance of the instructions and provisions of the present manual,
as well as from attempts by unskilled persons at repairing the appliance.
Should You decide to transfer the appliance to another person, please pass the
present manual over along with it.
This appliance is designed for use in domestic and similar applications, in
particular:
- in personnel kitchen zones at stores, offices and industrial facilities;
- at agricultural farms;
- by clients at hotels, motels and other residential facilities;
- in private boarding houses.
PURPOSE OF THE APPLIANCE: for cooking wafer sheet, used for making waffles.
Product Usage Instructions
- Plug in the waffle maker and wait for it to heat up.
- Prepare the waffle batter according to your recipe.
- When the waffle maker is ready, pour the batter onto the griddle and close the lid.
- Cook the waffles for 5-10 minutes or until they are golden brown.
- Remove the waffles from the griddle using a non-metallic utensil to avoid damaging the non-stick surface.
- Repeat steps 3-5 until all of the batter has been used.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
The appliance purchased by You complies with all official safety standards applicable to electric appliances in the Russian Federation. The following requirements should be strictly observed in order to avoid situations hazardous for human life and health, as well as premature failures of the appliance:
- Carefully read the present manual prior to operating the appliance.
- Retain the present manual.
- Ensure that the power supply voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds to your household power grid voltage.
- Do not use accessories and spare parts other than supplied by the Manufacturer. If such parts are used the Manufacturer’s warranty will become void.
- Do not operate the appliance if its power cable, plug and other parts are damaged.
- In case of power cable damage it should be replaced, to avoid dangerous situations, by the Manufacturer, a service centre or similar skilled personnel.
- Do not use the appliance outdoors.
- After use immediately disconnect the plug from the electric socket.
- Do not route the power cord and do not place the appliance itself in locations with increased humidity, on hot surfaces, near heat-emitting apliances or open flames.
- Do not use the appliance if it has been dropped or exposed to moisture.
- Place the appliance on a level, stable, heat-resistant surface so as to provide fee access to the electric socket.
- Use the appliance in a well-ventileted room. Do not place the appliance near curtains or blinds and do not cover the operating appliance to avoid fires.
- Be careful: the housing of the appliance becomes very hot durung operation. Do not touch the hot surfaces!
- Beware of the hot steam discharged from the gaps between the baking molds, do not reach with your hands or place other exposed body parts near the edges of the baking molds.
- This appliance should by no means be used by children!
- Never use sharp objects remove to remove the product from the waffle maker, as these may damage the non-sticking coating of the baking molds.
- Do not move the appliance before it has completely cooled down.
- Ensure that the appliance is turned off when not in use!
- Do not use the appliance neat a kitchen sink, do not expose it to moisture.
- Do not allow the power cord to hang from a table or to contact with heated surfaces or with sharp edges of kitchen furniture.
- Always disconnect the appliance from power supply before cleaning and when it is not in operation.
- Use the appliance only for its intended purpose to avoid accidents.
- The appliance should not be used by physically, sensory or mentally handicapped persons (including children) or by persons without sufficient experience or knowledge, unless such persons are under supervision, or have been instructed on the use of the appliance, by the persons responsible for their safety. Take precautions not to children play with the appliance.
- Special instructions for transportation (shipment) and sale: none.
- Use the appliance only with the proper connector.
- The appliance is not designed to be powered from an external timer or another separate remote control system.
ATTENTION! Do not submerge the power cord, plug or the appliance itself
in water or any other liquids, as this may result in shock. Should this
happen, DO NOT TOUCH the appliance, immediately disconnect it from power
supply and only then remove it from the water. Apply to an authorized
(certified) service center for having the appliance checked or repaired.
ATTENTION! The surface of the heating element remains hot even after the
appliance has been turned off.

OPERATING PROCEDURE
BEFORE FIRST USE
- If the appliance has been transported or stored at low temperatures, keep it at room temperature for at least two hours before operating it.
- Before connecting the appliance to power supply, ensure that the power grid voltage corresponds to that indicated on the appliance.
- Wipe the non-sticking coating of the baking molds with a damp cloth or sponge, then wipe dry.
- Before using the appliance for the first time apply a small quantity of vegetable oil to the non-sticking coating of the baking molds, evenly spread it over the entire surface and remove the access of oil with tissue paper. Close the mold, plug the power cord into an electric socket, the power indicator will light up.
- After 5 to 10 minutes pull the plug from the electric socket.
- Wait for the baking molds to fully cool down and remove the excess vegetable oil.
Note: The heating elements will emit a characteristic burning smell during the first use of the waffle maker: this is normal and nor a sign of malfunction.
OPERATION
- Slightly oil the non-sticking coating of the baking molds with vegetable oil.
- Plug the power cord into an electric socket, the power indicator will light up.
- When the required temperature is reached the “ready” indicator will light up; you can now proceed to baking the waffles.
- Raise the lid by the heat-insulated handle.
- Carefully pour the required quantity of the pre-made batter into the lower baking mold.
- Lower the lid and press the molds together to evenly spread the batter.
- Approximately after 2 to 3 minutes check if the waffles are done by raising the upper mold by the handle. If the waffles are not yet done, close the waffle maker and wait for some more time.
- After the batter has browned to a golden color, carefully remove the waffles using a wooden or plastic spatula.
- When all waffles are baked, disconnect the appliance from power supply by pulling the plug from the electric socket. Leave the waffle maker open and let it cool down.
ATTENTION!
- If you overfill the mold with batter you will not be able to fully compress the upper and lower mold; in this case remove the excessive batter and close the mold shut.
- The pilot light will turn on and off from time to time during operation, indicating that the required temperature is being maintained.
- Remove the waffles immediately after they are done, if you leave them in the operating waffle maker for too long, they may ignite.
- Do not use sharp or metallic objects (knives, metal spatulas, etc.) to remove the waffles from the mold, as this may cause damage to the non-sticking coating of the molds.
Note: The waffle cooking time can vary depending on the ingredients used. Put the appliance away for storage only after it is completely cooled down!
MAINTENANCE
- Turn the waffle maker off by pulling the plug from the electric socket.
- Let the appliance cool down completely; it is recommended to raise the upper mold.
- Remove the remnants of batter, wipe the non-sticking surface with a damp cloth, use a mild detergent if necessary, then wipe dry.
- Use a soft brush to clean out residual batter.
- Clean the waffle maker before putting it away for storage. Do not use abrasive agents or steel wool mops to clean the appliance, as these can damage the internal non-sticking surface or the outer surfaces of the appliance.
- Wind up the power cord.
- Store the appliance in a cool dry place, out of reach of children.
ATTENTION! To avoid electric shock never submerge the appliance in water or any other liquids.

Careful: accessible surfaces of the appliance can reach high temperature during operation. Do not touch the hot surfaces.
DISPOSAL OF THE DEVICE
Upon expiry of its service life the appliance can be disposed of separately from ordinary domestic waste. You can turn it over to a specialized electric and electronic appliance disposal and recycling centre.
CERTIFICATION DATA, GUARANTEE
The service life of this item is 5 years since the date of sale to the end user, provided the item will be used in strict accordance with the present manual and the applicable technical standards. Upon expiry of the service life please contact the nearest authorized service centre for suggestions as to further operation of the appliance. The manufacturing date of the appliance is integrated into the serial number (digits 2 and 3 – year, digits 4 and 5 – month of manufacture). DEAR CONSUMER!
The guarantee period for all appliances amounts to 12 months from the date of
sale to the end consumer. With this Warranty Card the Manufacturer confirms
the proper condition of the appliance and undertakes to repair, free of
charge, all defects caused by the Manufacturer’s default.
GUARANTEE MAINTENANCE TERMS

The guarantee shall be valid if the following documentation conditions are observed:
- The original Warranty Card shall be filled out correctly and clearly, indicating the of appliance model, serial number and sale date, the stamp of the seller company and signature of its representative shall be available, as well as the stamps on each coupon and the buyer’s signature in the Warranty Card.
The Manufacturer reserves the right to reject guarantee maintenance if the buyer fails to provide the abovementioned documents or if the information contained therein is incomplete, illegible or ambiguous.
- The original Warranty Card shall be filled out correctly and clearly, indicating the of appliance model, serial number and sale date, the stamp of the seller company and signature of its representative shall be available, as well as the stamps on each coupon and the buyer’s signature in the Warranty Card.

The guarantee shall be valid if the following operation conditions are observed:
- the appliance is used in strict accordance with the present manual;
- the safety rules and requirements are observed.

The guarantee does not apply to regular maintenance, cleaning, installation and setup of the appliance at the owner’s location.

The guarantee does not apply in the following cases:
- mechanical damage;
- normal wear of the appliance;
- non-observance of operation requirements or erroneous actions on the part of the user;
- improper installation or transportation;
- natural disasters (lightning, fire, flood, etc.), as well as any other causes beyond the Manufacturer’s or Seller’s control;
- ingress of foreign objects, liquids or insects into the inside of the appliance;
- repairs or modifications to the appliance by unauthorized persons;
- use of the appliance for commercial purposes (loads exceeding normal domestic application), connection of the appliance to utility and telecommunication networks incompliant with national technical standards;
- failure of the following accessories, if replacement of these is allowed by design and does not involve disassembly of the appliance:
- a. remote control units, rechargeable batteries, replaceable batteries (power cells), external power supply units and chargers;
- b. consumables and accessories (packaging, covers, slings, carry bags, mesh screens, blades, flasks, plates, supports, grilles, spits, hoses, tubes, brushes, nozzles, dust collectors, filters, smell absorbers);
- for battery-powered appliances – operation with inappropriate or depleted batteries;
- for rechargeable battery-powered appliances – any damage caused by improper battery charging and recharging.

The present guarantee is provided by the Manufacturer in addition to the consumer rights determined by the applicable legislation and does not limit these rights in any way.

The Manufacturer shall not be made liable for possible damage, directly or indirectly inflicted by CENTEK brand products on people, domestic animals, the consumer’s or third persons’ property if such damage is inflicted as the result of non-observance of appliance installation and operation requirements, deliberate or negligent actions (omission) by the consumer or third persons, as well as of force majeure circumstances.

Service centers will only accept appliances in a clean state (there should be no food residues, dust and other contamination on the appliance). The Manufacturer reserves the right to change the design and specifications of the appliance without prior notice.
