Step 1
Unplug the X3 connector on the ECM Step 2
Route connector through the wheel-well, remove the plastic top cover & pin retainer

Step 3
Route ORANGE SOTF wire through firewall. Locate PIN 11 & push out the plastic plug from the top side down.GDP 2011 2016 6 6l Duramax Digital Switch - fig

Step 4
Insert the new pin from the switch harness into slot 11.

Step 5
Reinstall top cover and bottom retainer. Use a zip tie to secure the wire from your switch to the X3 connector harness. Feed the harness back through the fender and into position. Reconnect the harness on the ECM, ensure that locking mechanism fully cams over. Slide the red lock tab to re-engage the lock.

Troubleshooting:

To troubleshoot your switch, you will need a voltmeter.
Step 1
Set your switch to position 1.
Step 2
Turn key to the run position. (engine off or on)
Step 3
Test the Switch on the fly wire (Orange Wire). These numbers may vary within their specific levels. (i.e. 4.0-4.9 in Position 1) The voltage you should be seeing is:

Step 4
If the readings do not match, please check your connections and pins to make sure they are not bent or broken. As well as, there is no debris stopping the pins from being inserted completely.
