For Ford 2008-2010 Models
- Route the three loomed switch wires from the SOTF through the vehicle’s firewall to the intake air temp sensor (IAT) as shown in the diagram. Be careful to route the wires away from hot surfaces or moving parts and secure them so they won’t rub on any sharp edges.
- Unplug the IAT sensor and use two of the supplied wire splice connectors to splice each wire of the switch harness to the IAT. (Note: The red wire is not used for 08-19 Ford Power Stroke models.)
- Connect the purple wire from the SOTF switch to the purple wire of the IAT sensor, and the black wire from the SOTF switch to the green/white-stripe wire of the IAT sensor. Make sure that the connector wires match the sensor wires by color.
- Make sure your switch only has four clicks to the right, starting all the way from the left. This should give you your five tune positions. If you have too many right clicks, remove the switch knob and place the set pin washer into the correct groove (between the 5th and 6th slot).
For Ford 2011-2019 Models
- Route the three loomed switch wires from the SOTF through the vehicle’s firewall to the fuel temperature sensor as shown in the diagram. Be careful to route the wires away from hot surfaces or moving parts and secure them so they won’t rub on any sharp edges.
- Unplug the fuel temperature sensor and use two of the supplied wire splice connectors to splice each wire of the switch harness to the fuel temperature sensor. (Note: The red wire is not used for 08-19 Ford Power Stroke models.)
- Connect the purple wire from the SOTF switch to the green wire of the sensor, and the black wire from the SOTF switch to the green/white-stripe wire of the sensor. Make sure that the connector wires match the sensor wires by color.
- For 2011-2014 models with a two-wire sensor, make sure your switch only has four clicks to the right, starting all the way from the left. This should give you your five tune positions. If you have too many right clicks, remove the switch knob and place the set pin washer into the correct groove (between the 5th and 6th slot).
- For 2015-2019 models with a four-wire sensor, make sure your switch only has four clicks to the right, starting all the way from the left. This should give you your five tune positions. If you have too many right clicks, remove the switch knob and place the set pin washer into the correct groove (between the 5th and 6th slot).
Follow these instructions carefully to ensure proper installation and usage of the Universal Switch for 2010-2019 Dodge Cummins and 2008-2019 Ford Powerstroke.
