2020-2021 Ford Powerstroke Commander
Ford Powerstroke GDP Commander
The Ford Powerstroke GDP Commander is a product designed to optimize the performance of your 2020-2021 Ford Powerstroke vehicle. The product is manufactured by GDP Tuning, LLC and comes with a user manual to provide instructions for installation and use.

Caution
Never work on a hot vehicle. Serious injury in the form of burns can result if the vehicle has been in use. Allow the vehicle to cool prior to installation. Always wear eye protection when working on or under any vehicle.
Hardware Instructions
Before starting the installation process, ensure that the vehicle is turned off and has cooled down. Follow these steps to install the GDP Commander:

Disconnect the ECU from the vehicle wiring harness. All three connectors must be removed. Damage to the GDP Commander can occur if all three connectors are not removed.

Connect the GDP Commander power harness to the vehicle battery.
Ensure that the red cable is connected to the positive terminal and the black cable is connected to the negative terminal. The GDP Commander is protected against reverse battery and cannot malfunction from a reverse connection. -
Connect the AvtoKomander ECU connector to the ECU. The connector is marked “Vehicle” on the ECU (hidden by ECU cover) and will only fit in the correct location.

Software Instructions
The GDP Commander software must be installed on a laptop to enable you to optimize the performance of your vehicle. Follow these steps to install and use the software:
- Install the USB drivers and the GDP Commander Software. You can download the software by clacking.
- Open the GDP Commander Software.
Menu Items

Cable: Connect to the GDP Commander over USB.
This must be done first. If the cable does not connect, verify the drivers are installed correctly. You can check if the drivers are installed correctly in Windows under Device Manager, Com
Ports. -
Credits: Check how many credits are available for use. One credit is good for one ECU/TCU.
Reading and Writing an ECU/TCU
To read or write an ECU/TCU, follow these steps:
- Connect to the GDP Commander using the cable and click BENCH > IDENTIFY > READ to read or BENCH > IDENTIFY > WRITE to write.
- Select the file you want to read or write from/to the ECU/TCU and allow the commander to finish.
Tech Support Information
If you require assistance with the product, ensure that you provide the ECU ID and serial number of the ECU when contacting tech support. You can right-click on them to copy the numbers.

Do not connect the AvtoKomander to the ECU until all three connectors are removed!
Hardware instructions
Step 1
Disconnect the ECU from the vehicle wiring harness. All three connectors must
be removed. Damage to the GDP Commander can occur if all three connectors are
not removed!
Step 2
Connect the GDP Commander power harness to the vehicle battery. Make sure to
connect red to positive and black to negative. The GDP Commander is protected
against reverse battery and can not malfunction from a reverse connection.
Step 3
Connect the GDP Commander ECU connector to the ECU. The connector is marked
“Vehicle” on the ECU (hidden by ECU cover) and will only fit in the correct
location.
Step 4
Connect the GDP Commander to the laptop and open the GDP Commander software.
Software instructions
Step 1
Install the USB drivers and the GDP Commander Sotfare. It can be downloaded by

Step 2
Open the GDP Commander Software:
Menu Items
Cable:
Connect to the GDP Commander over USB. This must be done first. If the cable
does not connect, verify the drivers are installed correctly. You can check if
the drivers are installed correctly in windows under Device Manager, Com
Ports.
Credits:
Check how many credits are available for use. One credit is good for one
ECU/TCU
Reading an ECU:
To read an ECU: Click CABLE > CONNECT.
Once connected, Click BENCH > IDENTIFY > READ
Writing an ECU:
To write an ECU: Click CABLE > CONNECT.
Once Connected, Click BENCH > IDENTIFY > WRITE > Then select the file to write
to the ECU and allow the commander to finish.
Reading a TCU:
To read an TCU: Connect to the OBD2 Port, then on the software Click CABLE >
CONNECT.
Once connected, Click BENCH > IDENTIFY > READ
Writing an TCU:
To write an ECU: Connect to the OBD2 Port, Click CABLE > CONNECT.
Once Connected, Click BENCH > IDENTIFY > WRITE > Then select the file to write
to the ECU and allow the commander to finish.
Tech Support Information
When contacting tech support, be sure to include the ECU ID and serial number of the ECU. You can right click on them to copy the numbers.
