This appliance is made in conformity with appropriate European Regulations in force, to protect the user wherever possible from potential hazards. Even if you are familiar with this type of appliance, carefully read this manual before use. Only use this appliance for the purpose it is designed for in order to prevent accidents and damage. Keep this manual close by for future consultation. If you should decide to give this appliance to other people, remember to also include these instructions. The information provided in this manual is marked with the following symbols indicating:

INTENDED USE

The kitchen machine (“appliance” from now on) can be used to mix or beat many ingredients inorder to prepare different recipes, using the provided accessories. This appliance is designed only and solely for private use, and is therefore to be considered unsuitable for industrial or professional purposes. Any other use of the appliance is not intended by the Manufacturer, which is exempt from any liability for damage of any kind, generated by improper use of the appliance. Improper use also results in any form of warranty being forfeited.

READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE.

  • The appliance is ONLY INTENDED FOR DOMESTIC USE and shall not be used for commercial or industrial purposes.

  • We suggest you keep the original box and packaging, as our free-of-charge  service does not cover any damage resulting from inadequate packaging of the product when this is sent back to an Authorised Service Centre.
  • This appliance can be used by persons who have reduced physical sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, only if they are monitored by a responsible person or if they have received and understood the instructions and dangers which may arise during the appliance use.

Danger for children

  • The appliance shall not be used by children.
  • Children shall not play with the appliance or its components. Cleaning and maintenance operations must not be carried out by children.
  • Always keep the appliance and the power cord out of the reach of children.
  • Do not leave the packaging near children because it is potentially dangerous.
  • In the event that this appliance is to be disposed of, it is suggested that the power cord is cut off. It is also recommended that all potentially dangerous components including the power cord are rendered harmless to prevent personal injury. Do not let children play with the appliance or its components.

Danger due to electricity

  • Ensure that the voltage of the appliance is the same as that of the electricity supply.
  • Do not leave the appliance unattended when plugged in; unplug it after use.
  • Do not place the appliance on or near heat sources.
  • Make sure that the power cord never touches hot surfaces.
  • Turn off the appliance and unplug the power cord from the power outlet before changing the accessories.
  • Never immerse the appliance body, the plug and the power cord in water or other liquids. Use a damp cloth for cleaning them.
  • Even when the appliance is not in use, unplug it from the power outlet before inserting or removing individual parts or before carrying out cleaning operations.
  • Make sure that your hands are dry before using or adjusting the switches on the appliance, or before touching the plug and power connections.
  • Never pull the power cord or the appliance to disconnect the plug from the power socket.
  • In case electrical extension cords are used, they must be suitable to the power of the appliance, in order to avoid danger to the operator and for the safety of the environment in which they are used. Unsuitable extensions can cause malfunctions.

Danger of damage originating from other causes

  • During use place the appliance on a horizontal, stable and well lit surface.
  • Never touch the moving parts.
  • Never introduce food into the bowl using your hands during operation; always use the designated openings on the lid.
  • Misuse of the appliance may cause injury.
  • Do not use the appliance if the power cord or the plug are damaged, or if the appliance is faulty; all repairs, including the power cord replacement, must be carried out only by the Ariete service centre or by technicians authorized by Ariete, in order to avoid any risk.

Warning of burns

  • When pouring hot liquids into the bowl, be careful not to let them out and come into contact with the hot liquid or steam.

Warning – material damage

  • Do not leave the appliance exposed to weathering (such as rain or sun).
  • In order not to compromise the appliance safety, use only original spare parts and accessories approved by the manufacturer.

  • Do not remove food from the bowl sides when the appliance is operating. Always turn off the appliance, unplug the power cord from the power outlet and use the provided spatula.
  • Do not operate the appliance when empty.
  • In order to avoid injury and damage to the appliance, always keep your hands and kitchen tools away from the appliance moving parts.
  • The appliance must not be power supplied by external timers or separate remote controlled systems.

wash thoroughly in soapy water all the elements which will come into contact with food.

Attention

Before inserting the desired mixing accessory, make sure that the appliance is turned off and that the speed control knob (G) is set on “0”.

  1. Press the release button (H). Lift the mixer arm (I) until you hear a click sound (Fig. 2).

  2. Place the stainless steel bowl (A) on the bowl seat (F). The notches on the bowl must enter into the slots located on the bowl seat.

  3. Turn the bowl to the symbol “ ” to lock it (Fig. 3).

  4. Insert the splash-proof lid (N) on the mixer arm (I) (Fig. 4). The notch on the lid must enter into the slot located on the appliance (Fig. 5).

  5. Push the mixing accessory upwards to insert it on the coupling pin (J) (Fig. 6).

  6. Lock the mixing accessory by turning it counter-clockwise. The coupling pin must enter perfectly into the loop located on the attachment of the accessory (Fig. 7).

    The appliance has three types of mixing accessories:

Whisk (D)

| To beat egg whites, cream, instant puddings, ready-to-use mixtures for cakes and desserts; to give a creamy texture to margarine or butter with sugar (use margarine or butter at room temperature); to mix eggs, for sponge cakes and other soft cakes.

Keeping the mixer arm up, pour the ingredients into the bowl (Fig. 8).

Press the release button (H). Lower the mixer arm (I) until you hear a click sound (Fig. 9). Additional ingredients can be poured into the bowl also through the opening on the splash-proof lid (Fig. 10).

Attention
Before turning the appliance on, make sure that the cover (M) of the optional accessories attachment (L) is properly closed and locked. Before turning the appliance on, make sure that all the accessories are correctly installed and locked. Do not use the appliance in case of unusual noise or excessive vibration during  operation.

Adhere to the maximum operating time shown in the table.
To get a smooth result or to add more ingredients to the bowl:

  • Turn off the appliance and unplug the power cord from the power outlet.

  • Press the release button (H). Lift the mixer arm (I) until you hear a click sound (Fig. 12)

  • Using the provided spatula (E), push food from the bowl sides towards the inside. Pour the additional ingredients into the bowl.

  1. Once processing is completed or if you want to change the type of mixing accessory, turn the knob (G) to the speed “0” to turn off the appliance.

  2. Unplug the power cord from the power outlet.

  3. Press the release button (H). Lift the mixer arm (I) until you hear a click sound (Fig. 12).

  4. Remove the stainless steel bowl (A) from the bowl seat (F). Turn the bowl to the symbol “ ” to unlock it (Fig. 13).

  5. Unlock the mixing accessory by pushing it upwards and turning it clockwise. The coupling pin must unhook from the loop located on the attachment of the accessory (Fig. 14).

  6. Pull out the mixing accessory.

USEFUL TIPS

  • It is recommended to beat the eggs at room temperature to get the best results.
  • Before beating egg whites, check for any fat or egg yolk residue on the whisk or in the bowl.
  • If the appliance seems to be over-working, turn off and unplug the appliance from the power outlet and reduce the quantity of ingredients to process.
  • To obtain a perfect dough, always add ingredients before the liquid ones.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Attention
Before carrying out any cleaning operation, unplug the power cord from the power outlet and wait until the appliance has completely cooled down.

  • Remove all the accessories used.
  • The stainless steel bowl (A), the lid (N), the three mixing accessories (B-C D) and the spatula (E) are dishwasher safe too.
  • To clean the appliance body use a slightly damp cloth.

Attention
After cleaning, dry all parts thoroughly before reassembling the appliance again.

AFTER USE
Put the appliance in a dry place and out of the reach of children. Make sure that the appliance has completely cooled down before storing it. Make sure that the accessories are completely dry before storing them.

BASIC RECIPE FOR BREAD DOUGH – 1.3 KG.
450 ml of warm water
30 g of fresh yeast or 14 g of dry yeast
2 teaspoons of sugar
1 teaspoon salt
30 g of oil
350 g of reground durum wheat semolina

  • Mix the yeast with water and sugar into the bowl. Let sit for 15 minutes.
  •  Add salt and oil to the mixture.
  • Continue to mix at speed “1” for about 2 minutes.
  • Use speed “2” and then speed “3” to mix for another 3 minutes, until the dough has taken the shape of a ball.
  • Place the dough in a bowl slightly greased with oil and cover with plastic wrap greased with oil too.
  • Let it rise at room temperature away from currents for 1 hour or until it doubles in volume.
  • Place them on baking trays greased with oil or covered with paper and oil, cover using a cloth and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Cook in the pre-heated oven at 220 °C for 25-35 minutes according to its shape or until the bread base makes a dull and empty sound when knocked.

BASIC RECIPE FOR SEMOLINA PASTA – 750 G. 220 ml of water 15 ml of oil

  • Add the ingredients to the bowl except for water, which must be poured in during processing.
  • Use the dough hook (B) to mix at increasing speed from “1” to “3” for about 4-5 minutes, until the dough has a “chopped” texture (like large-sized crumbs). warm place.
  • Cook in boiling salted water from 5 to 8 minutes depending on the type. ,f you are using a different tool to make pasta or if you are doing it manually, knead the dough into the kitchen machine for one more minute, until the dough has taken the texture and the shape of a ball.

BASIC RECIPE FOR FRESH EGG PASTA – 750 G.

  • Add the ingredients to the bowl except for water, which must be poured in during processing.
  • Use the dough hook (B) to mix at increasing speed from “1” to “3” for about 4 minutes, until the dough has a “chopped” texture (like large-sized crumbs).
  • Cook in boiling salted water from 5 to 8 minutes depending on the type.
  • If you are using a different tool to make pasta or if you are doing it manually, knead the dough into the kitchen machine for one more minute, until the dough has taken the texture and the shape of a ball.

BASIC RECIPE FOR SHORTCRUST PASTRY – 1.1 KG.

  • Add the ingredients to the bowl.
  • Use the beater (C) to mix at speed “2” for 3 minutes.
  • Place the dough on the counter top and quickly shape it into a ball.
  • Wrap in plastic wrap and put it in the fridge for at least 20 minutes or until it has slightly hardened.
  • Cook in the pre-heated oven at 170/180 °C from 15 to 25 minutes according to  the recipe.

BASIC RECIPE FOR MERINGUE – 300 G.

  • Add the egg whites at room temperature together with salt to the bowl.
  • Use the whisk (D) and whip the egg whites at speed “6” for 1 minute.
  • Quickly increase the speed until reaching speed “11” and gradually add the granulated sugar.
  • Continue to whip for a few more minutes to work all the ingredients into a compact and hard mixture, with white and shiny surface.
  • Turn off the appliance and remove the bowl.
  • Using a pastry bag or two spoons, shape the meringues on baking trays covered with lightly greased with oil paper or greased with butter.
  • Cook in the pre-heated oven at 100 °C for 2 hours and 30 minutes, leaving the oven door ajar for  a couple of inches, to allow the moisture to go out and the meringues to dry  thoroughly
