Completely read through the operating instructions as well as the latest information under the internet link at the end of these instructions. Follow the instructions they contain. This document must be kept in a safe place and passed on together with the device.

Function / Application

WP 550 is a splash-proof, sturdy head torch for use when camping or in the workshop. The head swivels up to 90° in steps for optimum illumination of the working area. The elastic strap can be adjusted to any head size. A rubber insert prevents the torch slipping or shifting out of place. Three light levels are available. This product is not suitable for diving.

Sensor On

Switches the lamp on and off with a hand movement in front of the IR sensor.

General safety instructions

  • The device must only be used in accordance with its intended purpose and within the scope of the specifications.
  • Modifications or changes to the device are not permitted, this will otherwise invalidate the approval and safety specifications.
  • Do not expose the device to mechanical stress, extreme temperatures, moisture or significant vibration.
  • Do not point the beam of light directly into the eyes of people, particularly those wearing glasses or contact lenses (high dazzling effect) or animals.
  • Under no circumstances should you look directly into the light produced by this device or when it is reflected off specular surfaces.
  • Close your eyes and move your head away from the beam of light if optical radiation hits your eyes.
  • Avoid heat build-up during use, for example, due to the covering the device.
  • Do not place the lamp in front of inflammable material when in use. It could ignite. It can reach temperatures of over 60 °C.
  • Do not use the lamp in traffic.
  • Do not leave the lamp unsupervised with children.
  • To avoid the risk of fire, electric shock or personal injury never use extension cables as well as accessories not approved by the manufacturer in connection with the battery charger.

Information on maintenance and care

Clean all components with a damp cloth and do not use cleaning agents, scouring agents and solvents. Remove the battery(ies) before storing for longer periods. Store the device in a clean and dry place.

EU directives and disposal

This device complies with all necessary standards for the free movement of goods within the EU.

This product is an electric device and must be collected separately for disposal according to the European Directive on waste electrical and electronic equipment.

Disposal of batteries
In accordance with the guideline 2006/66/EC, defective or depleted batteries or cells must be separated and taken for recycling in an environmentally appropriate process.

For lithium-based primary and secondary batteries as well as other high performance batteries

Only dispose of completely discharged batteries. If a battery is not completely discharged, precautions must be taken to prevent short circuiting its terminals, e.g. isolation of the terminals.

Notice about transporting products containing lithium batteries

The battery has been built and tested according to the current UN manual 38.3. Effective protection against overpressure, short-circuit, forceful breakage and reverse current are provided. Refer to the operating instructions for battery data.

If no specific safety information is provided this means the quantity of lithium and energy level are below the currently applicable limits. In this case the battery, neither on its own nor installed in the device, is subject to international hazardous materials regulations. The transport of multiple batteries could be relevant for hazardous materials regulations, please observe the special conditions (e.g. packaging).

Notice about disposal
Electrical devices, mechanical devices, batteries, accessories and packaging should be recycled in an environmentally appropriate process to recover valuable raw materials.

Please contact your municipal authority for information on corresponding disposal facilities and comply with the disposal and safety information at the collection sites.

For EU countries
Do not put electric devices into household garbage.
The European directive for scrap electric and electronic devices dictates they must be collected separately and sent to an environmentally appropriate recycling facility. Electric devices are marked with an icon of a crossed-out garbage can. Batteries must be removed from the device before its disposal, the batteries must be disposed of separately.
