Gas/Refrigerant leak detectors
These portable instruments are used to measure and detect the following parameters: refrigerants and combustible gases.
Symbols used
For your safety and in order to avoid any damage of the device, please follow
the procedure described in
this document and read carefully the notes preceded by the following symbol:
The following symbol will also be used in this document, please read carefully
the information notes indicated after this symbol:
Operating temperature, protection of the instruments and information about storage
- Conditions of use (°C/%RH/m): from 0 to +50 °C. In non-condensing conditions.
- From 0 to 2000 m. Protection: IP54
- Storage temperature: from -20 to +80 °C.
If the instrument is stored outside the operating temperature (for example in a van, a warehouse…), please wait for 10 minutes in its operating temperature before start using it.
2.Si-CD3 Keys
| ON-OFF/Esc. Turn the instrument on/off and allow to back to previous
selection.

| OK key. Confirm selection
| Select key. Navigate throught the menu
| HOLD/min/max key. Hold value, and display minimum and maximum values
| Backlight key. Activate/Deactivate the backlight
3. Si-RD3 Keys
| ON-OFF key. Turn the instrument on/off.

| Beep key. Enable or disable the audible signal.
| Sens key. Set the sensitivity and allow to perform an autozero.
Turn on the instruments
Switch on the instrument by pressing briefly on “On/Off/Esc” (Si-CD3) or
“On/Off” (Si-RD3).
Si-CD3: when it turns on, the device emits a beep then performs a pre-heating
phase. This phase lasts 60 seconds. The count of this pre-heating time
displays on screen.
Si-RD3: when it turns on, the pre-heating phase of the sensor begins. This
phase lasts 60 seconds. During this phase, all the visualisation leds of
thresholds light one after the other. A few second before the end of the pre-
heating phase, all the leds blinks at the same time.
Adjust the sensitivity (Si-RD3)
If the gas concentration is high, press “Sens.” key to set the sensitivity and
like this to get a better identification of the leak source. Please see in the
table below about the three different sensitivities.
Press “Sens.” key to adjust the sensitivity of the device.
Perform manual autozero (Si-RD3 only)
During measurement:
Press at least 3 ****key to perform an autozero. The “Autozero” led lights
on.
Hold the measurement (Si-CD3 only)
During measurement, press briefly on “Hold/min/max” to hold measurement:
“Hold” appears on the screen and measurement is fixed.
Briefly press “On-Off/Esc” to exit the Hold function.
Display minimum and maximum values (Si-CD3 only)
When measurement is hold:
Press “Hold/min/max”: maximum value measured since the last questioning is
displayed on the top of the screen and minimum value measured since the last
questioning is displayed on the bottom of the screen. Press “On-Off/Esc” to
return to the measurement display.
Select the measuring unit (Si-CD3 only)
The device is on and displays the measurement.
Press “Select”.
“UNIT” blinks on screen.
Press OK.
The unit currently used blinks on screen.
Press “Select” until the desired unit appears : ppm, %VOL, %LEL.
Press OK to validate the unit selection.
“UNIT” blinks on screen.
Press “On-Off/Esc” to return to the measurement display.
10. Batteries replacement
The instrument is OFF.
Remove the battery cover at the back.
Replace the 4 alkaline batteries LR03 AAA 1.5 V respecting the polarity.
Put back the battery cover.
To ensure safety, replace batteries with the same type.
Not doing so might lead to explosion. Dispose of used batteries according to
instructions.
