Important safety information

  1. Keep the product and all its parts out of reach of small children.
  2. Do NOT leave it in high temperatures as electronic devices and plastic parts may warp in heat. No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the product.
  3. Do NOT leave it in low temperatures as moisture can form inside the product, which may damage the circuit board.
  4. Do NOT attempt to open the product. This product does not contain any user serviceable parts. Unauthorized handling of the device may damage it and will void your warranty.
  5. Disconnect your Radio from the mains power supply during thunder thunderstorms.
  6. Always check that you have completely switched off your Radio, before you change or disconnect the power supply.
  7. If the Radio will not be used for a long period of time, make sure that the mains power is unplugged.
  8. This radio has an integral rechargeable battery. Never throw the radio in to a fire or attempt to open the outer casing. The radio should not be exposed to excessive heat. For disposal the radio should be take to an appropriate recycling facility.

Caution: Danger of explosion if batteries are incorrectly replaced
Warning: To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen to this radio using earphones at high volume levels for long periods of time.

OPERATION

Setting up
  1. You can use the radio immediately by plugging the Micro USB end of charging cable (supplied) into the Micro USB socket on the back of the radio and the other end USB-A into a suitable USB wall charger or other suitable power source such as a laptop.
  2. If you are wishing to use the Radio cable free ie. utilizing the built in battery pack you must firstly fully charge the radio for approximately 4 hours before use.

Powe rOn
Long press: The power button to power on then short press the mode button to change the mode between (DABIFM/Bluetooth).
Power Off
Short press: The power button to power off.
Using bluetooth
Pairing the Radio using Bluetooth

  1. Press the MODE button until you are in BLUETOOTH mode. Your radio will begin searching for Bluetooth devices and “Searching … ” is displayed.
  2. Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device and search for available Bluetooth connections. Select GV-DRO 7 from the list. If you are asked for a password, enter 0000.
  3. “BT connected” will be displayed on your Radio once it has been paired successfully.
  4. Use the Select button to Play I Pause
  5. Use the Tune ◄ button to play previous track
  6. Use the Tune ► button to play Next track
  7. Use the rotating volume control for sound levels

Press and hold the select button for 3 seconds to disconnect from the current device and to search for new device to pair with if required.

DAB RADIO
  1. Adjust the antenna to enhance the signal.
  2. Press the MODE button until you are m DAB mode. it will begin to search DAB stations automatically or play tne station played last time, start searching and the device will automatically synchronize the time and date.
  3. You can also press the◄ Tune and Tune ►buttons to scroll through the available stations and then press Select button to play your chosen station or press the Menu/Info button to enter DAB settings,

DAB SETTINGS
In DAB mode, press and hold the In Menu/Info button to enter DAB settings, then choose between Full Scan, DRC or System using the ◄ Tune and Tune ►buttons.
FULL SCAN
Press and hold Menu/Info button then press the ◄ Tune and Tune ► buttons to find “FULL SCAN” in the menu list
Press “Select” Button to start scanning. Once a scan is completed, the radio returns to playing the previously selected station or station on the station list.
DRC (Dynamic range compression)
Press and hold Menu/Info outton then press the ◄ Tune and Tune ► buttons to find “DRC’ in the menu list.
Press select to enter, this function reduces the difference between the loudest and quietest audio being broadcast. Effectively, this makes quiet sounds comparatively louder, and loud sounds comparative quiet, then press ◄ Tune and Tune ► buttons to choose between High, on and Low and then press select, an Asterixis highlights your choice.
SYSTEM
Press and hold Menu/Info button then press the◄ Tune and Tune ►buttons to find “SYSTEM” in the menu fist , then press “select” to enter then press the Tune and Tune ►buttons to choose from the following options.

  • Sleep Press “select” to enter then the ◄Tune and Tune ► buttons to choose between OFF, 15, 30, 45, 60 and 90 minutes press “select” to choose
  • Time Press “select” to enter then press the◄ Tune and Tune ►buttons to scroll the options. To set Time/Date press “select” then the ◄Tune and Tune ►buttons to set Hours then Minutes. To Auto Update Press “select” to enter then press the Tune and Tune ►buttons to scroll options Update from Any, Update from DAB, update from FM or No update,
  • Set 12124 Hour press “select” then◄ Tune and Tune ► buttons to scroll options 12hr or 24hr, then to Set Date Format Press “select” to enter then press the Tune and Tune ► buttons to scroll options either MM-DD-YEAR or DD-MM-YEAR then press “select”. Then press Menu/Info button to return to the “System” menu and scroll to Backlight using the◄ Tune and Tune ► buttons.
  • Backlight Press “select” to enter then press the◄ Tune and Tune ►buttons to choose between Timeout , on level and Dim Level press “select” to choose.
  • Timeout Press the◄ Tune and Tune ► buttons to choose between On, 10, 20, 30, 45, 60, 90, 120, and 180 then press the◄ Tune and Tune ►buttons to scroll to on level
  • On Level Use the◄ Tune and Tune ►buttons to choose between “Low Medium or High” then press “select” to choose then press the◄ Tune and Tune ► buttons to scroll to Dim level
  • Dim Level Use to choose between “Low Medium or High” then press “select” to choose then press the “Menu/Info button to return to the “System” menu and use the Tune and Tune ►buttons to scroll to Language.
  • Language Press “select” to enter then press the◄ Tune and Tune ► buttons to choose between English, German, Italian and French press “select” to choose then press the◄ Tune and Tune ► buttons to scroll to Factory Reset
  • Factory Reset Press “select” to enter then press the ◄ Tune and Tune ►buttons to choose between YES/NO then press the ◄ Tune and Tune ►buttons to scroll to Software Version
  • Software Version For info only Press “Menu/Info button to return to System Menu
    Note: as you go through the possible values, an asterisk (*) appearing to the right-hand side of the display indicates the currently selected value for each setting.

Presets for DAB+ and FM Stations (Storing favourite)
In DAB or FM Mode, simply scroll through the station list by pressing ◄ Tune and Tune ► buttons and then Press “Select” to tune to that station then press “Preset” for over 3 seconds then press◄ Tune and Tune ► buttons to look for an empty location or to overwrite an existing stored station then press “Select” to save to that location, each mode can store up to 20 stations.
RECALLING A PRESET STATION DAB or FM
Choose the correct Mode DAB or FM Press the “Preset” setting button then scroll through the station list by pressing ◄ Tune and Tune ► buttons then press “Select” to play.
DAB INFO
You can view further information when the unit is working under DAB mode. Press
“Menu/Info” Button repeatedly and you can have options including:

  • Frequency
  • Signal
  • Signal Strength
  • Signal Quality
  • Time
  • Date
ALARM SETTING

ALARM 1 SETTING
Press the Alarm/Snooze button Alarm Setup will be displayed.
Press “Select” and set the On Time by using the◄ Tune and Tune ► buttons to set the hour then press “Select” to confirm and then press the◄ Tune and Tune ► button
to set the minutes then press “Select” to confirm.
Now choose the Duration Time by using the◄ Tune and Tune ► buttons to select from 15, 30, 45, 60, 90 and 120 minutes. then press “Select” to confirm and then press the ◄ Tune and Tune ► buttons to choose the Alarm Source by using the ◄ Tune and Tune ► buttons to select between Buzzer, DAB or FM, then press “Select” to confirm (When DAB or FM is selected it will be the last listened to station) and then press the◄ Tune and Tune ► buttons to choose the Alarm Occurrence by using the ◄ Tune and Tune ► buttons to select between Daily, Once, Weekend, or Weekday then press “Select” to confirm and then press the ◄ Tune and Tune ► buttons. Choose the Alarm Volume. by using the◄ Tune and Tune ► buttons to select the volume which will ascend to your selected level then press “Select” to confirm.
Note: There is no STANDBY mode or ALARM function when you are using battery power ensure your radio is plugged into a mains source.
Alarm 2 Setting
Press the Alarm/Snooze button Alarm Setup will be displayed then press Tune and Tune► buttons to scroll between Alarm 1 and Alarm 2 and then press “Select” to choose Alarm 2 to confirm and follow as above.
SNOOZE
When the alarm sounds, press the “Alarm/Snooze “button to keep Snoozing for another 10 minutes.
STOP ALARMS
When the alarm sounds, press the “POWER” button to stop and the radio will go into standby mode.

FM MODE

Press the MODE button until you are in FM Mode
Whilst in FM mode Long Press the Menu/Info button to enter the menu then press ◄ Tune and Tune ► buttons scroll between, Scan Settings, Audio Setting, AMS or System. Then press “select” for your preferred option.
SCAN SETTINGS
Use the◄ Tune and Tune ► buttons scroll between All Stations or Strong Stations then press “select” for your preferred option
By default an FM scan stops at any available station (All stations). This may result in poor quality audio from weak stations.
Press the◄ Tune and Tune ► buttons to go to Audio Settings and choose between Stereo Allowed and forced mono using the◄ Tune and Tune ► buttons and “Select” to confirm.
Then press the◄ Tune and Tune ►buttons to go to AMS press “select” and the FM scan will begin.
Now press and hold the Menu/Info button and using the◄ Tune and Tune ►buttons to scroll to the System menu and press “select” to enter.

  • On Level Use the◄ Tune and Tune ► buttons to choose between “Low, Medium or High” then press “select” to choose then press the◄ Tune and Tune ► buttons to scroll to Dim level.

  • Dim Level Use to choose between “Low, Medium or High” then press “select” to choose then press the “Menu/Info button to return to the “System” menu and use the Tune and Tune ► buttons to scroll to Language.

  • Language Press “select” to enter then press the◄ Tune and Tune ► buttons to choose between English, German, Italian and French press “select” to choose then press the◄ Tune and Tune ► buttons to scroll to Factory Reset.

  • Factory Reset Press “select” to enter then press the◄ Tune and Tune ► buttons to choose between YES/NO then press the◄ Tune and Tune ► buttons to scroll to Software Version.

  • Software Version For info only Press the Menu/Info button to return to System Menu

FMINFO
You can view further information when the unit is working under FM mode. Press “Menu/Info” Button repeatedly and you can have options including:

  • Radio Text
  • PTY (Programme Type)
  • Frequency
  • Time
  • Date

No Power?
The Power switch is set to OFF, Set the Power switch to the ON
Battery is flat Recharge the battery or use mains power.
Station not found/Weak signal
Station not available in your area Use the manual tune function.
The display is blank
This may occur if the broadcaster changes the label of a service or removes a label while tuned. The unit will try re-tune. If not perform a new scan.
Noise on some stations
Battery power is low weak signal Recharge the battery or use mains power. Try re-positioning the antenna.
No sound
Volume may be set to minimum, Increase the volume.
